THL Withdraws from the UN

In a highly controversial move, THL's Government announced it's withdrawal from the United Nations almost twenty-four hours ago. At first, the populace thought it to be a joke or a mistake by the media, how ever that all ended when the Government issued the following statement:

"We now see the United Nations for what it truly is. It is a choked, bureaucratic mass, an ineffective, bloated organization. It is an endless stream of repeals and hollow resolutions. Therefore, we feel it will be the healthiest option for our nation to withdraw from the UN immediately. We are confident our international alliances will not be effected in anyway, seeing as they are not linked to us by the United Nations."

Surprisingly, the move is highly supported by most of the population. How ever, a few liberals have started riots in various areas of the nation, and a few fatalities have been reported. How ever, the riots will be quelled by the end of the night.

The Dominion of DMG congratulates you on your decision. Long have we realized that the United Nations is little more than a joke, filled with utopian desires while having no thought for reality. We are glad that you too have now come to this realization and applaud your move.

The Lachrytomists are behind The Tree Hugging Lesbians in this movement. Too long many nations have been swayed by the UN, and now their independence is simply made through right choices. We believe you have done the right thing, and we applaud you in your decision.

We applaud your decision, we resigned after noticing that a new bioweapons act was passed, and it banned the manufacture of vaccines (much to the joy of insane fundamentalist groups) while allowing the storage of a hoard of smallpox viruses.

Why were you in it in the first place, anyways?

From the Desk of the State Department

We applaud THL for its decision to withdraw. The NSUN, as we know it, is powerless when it comes to actual affairs and is not an organization we would be willing to associate with.

The Republic of Kanami fully supports the discion of THL's withdrawl from the United Nations. Kanami was once a advocate and member to the U.N. when it was seen for the dark shady side it was, and how it was everything our nation's founder, disapproved on. With bullies, insane and dangerous resolutions it is no wonder more and more people in the world are withdrawing from teh U.N. and it's dictoral grasp over it's member states.

The following one-line statement was issued by the Ministry of External Affairs in response;

"The United Nations is irrelevant."

No further comment was forthcoming...

We applaud your move away from the evil bureacracy known as the UN which is known as a paper tiger that issue unenforceable decrees on the world community. We left the organization years ago when we realized how useless it was.

"It is good that you saw the UN for what it was' a racist organisation that seems to do nothing but oppress those who do not fit a precise template, and restrict the rights and freedoms of your nation. If only more people could recognise the corruption and hypocrisy that this organisation represents! 'Tis a shame, for the bloated organisation had noble ideals when it was originally founded. Now it is of no use to anyone."

"Good for you. Now you can develop some proper weapons! Maybe you could sell some to us... to use on those vile blue sea devils?"

Overlord Krat of the Land Reapers

"Hahaha! UN is the first part of underpants!"

[Ambassador Jack Riley on the phone with some random government official:]

They were in the UN?! ... I don't recall seeing them at any secret world government conspiracy meetings! ...

Well, why are they quitting? ...

I know, but the UN is finally starting to get its fucking act together. They're throwing out waste and ... doing other good stuff. Alex was just telling the president (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=10256367&postcount=34) about the positive developments. ...

Who me? Oh, I think it's because the UN is finally considering repealing that useless Gay Rights resolution; I mean, just look at the nation's name! ...

Oh, the environmental resolutions too? Repealing Protection of Dolphins and Save the forests? Makes sense, they are "Tree Hugging Lesbians" ...

Well, how can they concurrently oppose both the repeals and the "choked, bureaucratic mass" and the "bloat"? Repeals get rid of worthless bureaucracy! ...

It's no matter; it's their country. They can do what they want, and a far sight more, now that the UN ain't breathing down their necks no longer. Send them some candy.
