As for this RP, there's nothing that anyone here can actually respond to. We'd need more detail, like terrain, tech level, who's against who, and so forth. I'd recommend you read the stickies and the threads of some more experienced free-formers.
Remember, detail is key. The difference between

Is pretty evident. And I know which I would rather have in my RP. (even though the second one is kinda dreadful, it's better than the first)
