The Rebel Leader looked out of the Observation Deck of the Control Tower of Rebel_Strike’s major Airport. He watched as his men set up bunkers, AA guns and several other fortifications. His rebel army of over 1500 Men had easily taken control of the airport. It was perfect for defending and it gave them lots of hostages to barter with. Soon, the Republic would fall to his Rising Dictatorship.
In the Capitol, President Evan Rogers mused over the incident. He decided it would be best if he called for help from his Allies, and all Nations who had someone from their Country in the airport. He wrote a letter to all who would answer.
To Whom it May Concern:
I am President Evan Rogers of Rebel_Strike and am in a state of emergency. A Rebel Army has taken control of the major Airport. I am requesting the help of all available Nations to please aid me in this tragedy. I would ask you that all of your forces gather to the north of the Airport, where my Army will already be assembled.
Respectfully,
Evan Rogers
He then sent a message to all his Generals, to prepare their men for war.

Graham reviewed the latest hostage case and swore. This time it just wasn't his people stuck in a hotel...this included his own four family members, along with sixteen other Amazonians.
"Goddammit how many hostage situations are we going to go through, Keller?"
Graham's official aide, Sam Keller, stepped out of a door.
"I am not sure, but we have forces ready to send in to surpress this insurrection."
"Then get on it, I won't tolerate these scum!!!"
"Right away sir."
Graham completed a message to the Rebel Strike leader.

Evan read the letter and sighed in relief. "Its good to know we still have some close allies with us" He said to his Forgien Affairs Minister. "Im still not sure if i want to send those troops in there. Its a deathtrap. We have to wait for more Allies to come before we can do this safely."
Meanwhile, just North of The Airport, Rebel_Strikes armies gathered. General Antillies had 2500 Troops ready to go as well as 10 T4-B Heavy Tanks. He had requested several choppers but the Airforce was late, as usual. "Damn flyboys,"he cursed, "Always late but takeing all the fame."
"Sir, The Federation Of Amazonian Beasts had sent there army to help us out!" A messanger informed the General.
"Thats great, but we still need more men." General Antillies muttered.

"All men to board in twenty minutes!"
Major Dick Winters was in a horrendous mood. Just back from the Tarsonis Campaign and now his family was hostage in a foreign land, along with the President's family and several others. And he had only had several weeks of R&R, now he was back out with his men. 7th division had to do its duty. General Nevar Cracken would once again be his commanding officer, this was moderately comforting. He and Nevar had a good working relation.
"All men, board your ships!"
They were ready to move out. Winters gazed once more at the Amazonian landscape, felt the land beneath his feet one more time, and stepped onto his transport that would take him to battle.

Colonel Piett reports to General Antillies, "Sir, the Amazonian Army has landed, what now?"
"Well, what about the others?" Antillies inquires.
"Umm, thats it, no one else decided to help us out." Piett replied.
"What!!!" General Antillies exploded, "Those bastards!!!! Ok, go find out how big their force is, and tell their Leader that i want to talk to him."
"Yes Sir." Piett says and hops into his jeep towards the advancing Amazonian Army.

Cracken stepped off his ship onto the Rebel_Strike shore. Another day, another campaign. He gave his plans to his aide as a Strike man came up to him. At least it had been a short ride...it was good that the two nations were so close.
"Yes, I'm Nevar Cracken, commanding the Amazonian forces. You need something?"
"General Antilles wants to speak to you."
"Alright, tell him I'm on the way."
Cracken watched the Strike man leave. Hopefully this one would be less chaotic than the Tarsonis campaign...no betrayls this time.

1130 Northern Front Of the Airport
General Antillies was discussing tactics with General Kracken about how to take the Airport with minimal casualties, Military and Civilian.
Their combined Forces totaled 5500 Troopers, 25 T4-B Heavy Tanks and 15 T-2B Repulor Tanks. The Rebels only had 2000 Men, but they were heavily dug in with bunkers and machinegun emplacements at every turn. They also had around 100 Snipers hidden in the tall buildings and on rooftops all over the Airport.
"We should send in the armor and blast away those damned Rebels" General Antillies declared
"There are civilians in there, remember? We have to do this carefully. We cant just go in there guns blazing unless you want a bloodbath and over 1000Civilians dead!"
"So how do you propose we do this?" Antillies inquired
Amazonian Beasts

Cracken gave his tactical response to Antilles.
"Alright, here's what I think. Have the tanks fire on the bunkers first, to divert their attention. Then I'll send in my forces to try and get behind the Rebels and engage their forces. You commit your forces after that. After we get rid of the exterior forces, we can proceed carefully inside the airport to rescue the hostages."
Winters had been busy briefing his men.
"Alright, listen up, here's the scoop. They seem well armed, not as much as the Alanorians, but they make up for that with ruthlessness. They have bunkers and gun nests, we have to be careful."
"So we're just gonna go in and bust them up, sir?"
"No, sit down and shit up. We have to exercise caution. They have prisoners who they might kill at any time. It doesn't matter to the Rebels who lives and dies."
"What you sayin', sir?" snickers came from the men.
"Shut up and let me finish. We have to be careful. We can't let innocents die. And if my wife or my girl Lauren dies through this...I'm not gonna be a happy camper. Putting it lightly. Alright?"
"Yes sir."
"Gear 'em up and get ready for the general's word, then."

"This is great!"General Antillies smiled, "And this gives me an idea. All the hostages are being held in the South-East Hanger Bay. Ours and the Amazonian Armies can free the Hostages, while the The Consolate Army distracts them by attacking from the North. Once the hostages are safely out of the dangr zone, we attack from the south, in an attempt to trap the filthy rebels between Our Army with the Amazonians and the Consolate Army! Its foolproof!"

They make it to the south-eastern perimiter of the Airport. The Hangar Bay where the hostages are being held is about 100 meters from the Barbed wire fence that marks where the Rebels territory begins. The 2 Generals decide on how to best get the hostages out of there.
"We should use the Heavy Tanks to roll over the fence then the troops can pour in and take the hangar bay. Once the Hostages are out, we can move the rest of the army in."Cracken states.
"Good, but we have to wait for The Consolate Army to move in for the distraction. Once they begin, we move in." Antillies puts in.

"The Consolate Army has moved in!! Lets Go!!" Bellowed General Cracken
5 Heavy Tanks rolled over the Barbed wire fence and proceded to clear a bath to the Hangar Bay. Over 1000 men followed the tanks. Once inside, they found out there were only several hundred hostages in the hanger, and they were dead. The men didnt have much time to process that, as a Rebel Ambush found them caught between a rock and a hard place. The Heavy Tanks were the first to go, then bit by bit, the men started to fall. Over 1000 men were killed. The 2 Generals were stunned as they watched the massacre go on from outside the perimiter.
"May as well kill them all now" General Antillies said. "Send in the rest of the Army, and send in the Russo-Soviet Army and those Not Quite Dead people also."

"Sir, bad news from Antillies' front! They're taking heavy losses, military and civilian."
Gawin looked around in panic. It wasn't supposed to happen this way! Suddenly, his gaze fell upon an Apache gunship.
"All troops, prepare to advance! Helos, spray the side of the terminal with machine gun fire! Open a breach for us!"
The helicopers opened up and the wall began to desentigrate. Hundreds of marines poured in and took cover in the wreckage. But, just as fast, rebels rushed down the hall towards the newly opened front...

The Emperor rushes into the Airport and takes the entire rebel force by surprise because these rebels were concentrated on the ambush. The assault force killed 780 enemy soldiers and rescuing 789 hostages and taking over 100 prisoners. Then when the northern attack ended the Imperial Forces attacked the ambush from behind and connected with the other allied forces.

"Go, go, go!"
Winters led a squad of soldiers through the hail of fire pouring from a machine gun nest, bullets searing past his face. Winters ducked behind a piece of destroyed machinary, pumped a three-round burst with his sub machine gun, and kept moving.
"Keep your head down or that machine gun will take it off!"
And it did just that. To Winter's left, a private came running up, nearly upright, and was hit four times square in the face. He was dead before he hit the ground, blood and dura oozing out of what had been his head. Winters regrouped with the squad.
"Alright, Jones, Goings, you two break to the left and give us surpressing fire. Peterson, Colbert, you're with me. Break!"
Winters stepped over the body of a guerrila as he charged a barricade, bullets sizzling by. Private Jones fell to a grenade as shrapnel stung into Winters. He shrugged it off, he had more pressing matters at hand. He fired another burst and dived below cover, Colbert and Peterson right behind him. Winters lifted up and rattled off more fire at the Rebels, dropping two.
"Goings! Get over here. Alright, see that break in the glass over there leading into the airport terminal? We're going in there. If you have grenades use them now!"
Peterson was a new recruit, and he showed the fear in his voice.
"Sir...they could be waiting in there, noone's breached the airport yet."
"Private, the only people on this tarmac are those who are dead and those who are going die shortly. So get moving!"
Winters threw a smoke grenade, then dashed forward under the billowing black clouds. Hearing the confusion of several rebels, he reloaded and started pumping fire back into the rebel masses. He heard screams but ignored them and dashed to the window.
"Peterson, chuck ina grenade!"
"Yes sir, I'm on it!"
Peterson chucked a frag grenade through the window as the rest of the squad ducked. After hearing the explosion, Winters, leading Peterson, Goings, and Colbert, jumped through the broken window and sprayed fire at a group of rebels immediately inside the building. Moving through, Winters methodically moved from one target to the next, pumping each one with three rounds before switching to another rebel.
"Goings, grenade through that opening!"
"Right away."
Seargant Goings threw a frag grenade through a jagged hole in the wall, and hearing confused screams on the other side, the four men jumped through. Peterson was immediately met by fire and fell, three bullets right through his heart. Peterson's blood billowed out, mixing with that of dead rebel guerillas. Winters spotted a prisoner group up ahead and to the left around fifty meters, near another terminal. He downed two more rebels and gutted a thrid with his rifle bayonet, effectively finishing resistance in the room.
"Goings, Colbert, into that room!"
"I'm on it!"
"Right away sir!"
The three remaining members of the squad each pitched grenades through the hole and advanced, cutting down rebels in their way. Two grenades met their advance and the three veterans dropped. Unlike Peterson and Jones, they had all served in the Tarsonis Campaign. Simple grenades wouldn't scare them. They cut down the last of the rebels with concentrated bursts, and let the room settle. About half of the captives lay dead, the others visibly shaken. Winters ran up to his 13-year old daughter Lauren, who had been captive in the room. He cut a rope tying her hands, then sat down next to her.
"You okay?"
"Yeah...I don't know where mom is."
"That's okay, I'll find her. Is your arm alright?"
"I think it's broken. It hurts."
"I'll get a medic over here when everything's calmed down. You just stay here until then, ok?"
"Yeah dad. Be back soon please?"
"I will Lauren."
Winters stood up, then hailed his men.
"Goings, Colbert, let's move! We gotta whole airport still to clear!"

Colonel Piett split up from Captian Veers and General Antillies to help out the trapped Consulate Army. He had 1 T4-B Heavy Tank and 2 T-2B repulor Tanks with 750 Troops. They quickly moved through the empty terminal towards the northern landing area where the Consulates were trapped. As the tanks crashed though the buildings, they came across the rear flank of the Rebels. The Tanks opened fire and took out some heavy set Rebel bunkers. The Rebels soon figured it out that they were trapped and began to scatter. Piett split uo his force into 3 groups. The First one had the heavy tank and went dead ahead to free The Consulates. The second went left, to prevent them from ambushing Dead Peoples and Amazonian Beasts. The other went right to capture the west part of the airport and make sure no Rebels escaped. Piett went with the group that went to free The Consulates. As they rolled across the open airstrip, snipers opened fire.
"Where is that coming from!" Piett demanded
"In the terminal marked T-13!" A Private yelled, before he was shot in the head.
"Shoot it with the tank and take it out!" Piett commanded
"But what if there are civilians in there?" The tank commnder protested.

Winters, Goings, and Colbert were still discussing when the call from the Consulates came in.
"Alright guys, we're gonna go help them from inside."
Winters walked over to his daughter to say goobye again
"Ok Lauren, I've got to go out to help these guys. Do what you can around here, I'll send a medic to treat your arm."
"Alright dad...Hurry." The girl sounded scared.
"I will. Promise."
"Alright, boys, let's move out!"
Goings, Winters, and Colbet rounded into the next room, occupied only by another Amazonian squads.
"You guys from Epsilon Company?"
"No sir, Delta. Private Tubbs, Private Jones, Corporal Peppers, and I'm Sergeant Boulware."
"Alright, Boulware, you're with me. We're going to help out those Consulate guys."
The group broke into the next room and came under fire. Two rounds hit Tubbs in the gut, spilling his intestines. Winters slipped on his guts, saving him from a burst of bullets. He dropped a man with a shot to the knees, then finished off the rebel. The rest of his men cleaned up the rest of the room. Proceeding onto the next, Jones tossed a grenade around the next room, ran in, and was hit in the head by four bullets, dying instantly. The others ran into the room, shooting it up and killing four rebels. Three more popped up, spraying fire at the Amazonians. The men ducked, shooting at the rebels and slowly advancing. Winters shot one rebel at point-blanck range, then knifed another with his bayonet. Goings finished off the last one.
"Alright you guys, see that battle over there? That's the rebels bogging down the consulates. If we can get into the next room, we can attack them from the inside. So let's do it!"
Boulware spun into the room first, taking grenade shrapnel to his chest, shredding his muscles and tearing his heart to ribbons. The other four ran in, shooting at the four rebels in the room. Peppers and Colbert each shot one as Winters sprayed down the other two with fire, killing both.
"Peppers! Set up your LMG in the window and start suppressing the rebels! Colbert, use your grenade launcher to assist! Goings, you and I take either side and fire with our rifles!"
The four soldiers began firing on the rebel positions, sowing chaos amid the rebel ranks as Amazonian tanks and infantry fired from outside.

Two miles above the surface of the earth a group of C-1 Dropmaster aircraft plowed their way through the clouds. In the back of the lead plane stood 110 Felucan paratroopers in two rows facing the rear of the aircraft. One of the aircraft's crew was standing by the ramp, connected to the wall with a saftey strap.
His eyes were on a light hanging over a set of controls. When the light turned yellow, he hit a button to lower the ramp. Wind began to whip through the body of the plane, and the soldiers each lifted a clip that they connected to a wire hanging overhead.
The crewman yelled, "Ready!" while making a gesture with one hand. An officer at the front of the line nodded, then reached behind himself to slap the hip of the soldier standing behind him. That soldier did the same, and the next, and so on.
Seconds later, the light went green and the crewman whirled his hand above his head, gesturing towards the ramp.
Without hesitation, both lines of soldiers began to move forward, leaping out the back of the C-1 in 2 second intervals.
The sky filled with lines of parachutes and the soldiers dropped towards the ground below. Behind them, the crewman released the saftey breaks on a pair of pallets, and they slid towards the back of the plane on rails then fell out. They too would fall to earth with parachutes.
The dropzone is a location about a mile outside of the airport where the airborne infantry begin to gather and check in with their officers.

An ammo dump hit into the roof-less room now occupied by the four Amazonians. Winters tore open the parachite-equipped box, revealing extra grenades, ammo clips, and ammunition for MGs. Seeing how the area of the fight was now largely abandoned, Winters signalled his men.
"Alright, grab what ammo you can hold, and then we're moving out. We've still got a lot of the airport under rebel control, we can't give up yet. Let's move out!"
Goings, Winters, Peppers, and Colbert rounded into the next room with full ammo and supplies. Two grenades made short work out of several enemy combatants. Another rebel tried to offer resistance and was silenced by two shots from Colbert's rifle. Entering the baggage area, bodies of dead civilians littered the ground. Apparently the rebels had been more ruthless then Winters had originally thought. Rebel soldiers began popping up from all over the large quad, firing shots at the Amazonain squad. The men dropped low, and Winters tripped over a body. He looked down and was horrified to see the corpse of his wife. Anger seeped into Winters's veins, hatred for these animals filled his heart. Seeing red, he glared maliciously at the rebels popping shot from across the long room. Winters threw four grenades at seperate clumps of rebels, than charged towards a group of recovering rebels, shooting two at point-blank range and bayoneting the two others. Tossing another grenade, he stormed another group, bringing down all the soldiers and ignoring a bullet shot in his right shoulder. Suppressing fire from Pepper's machine gun kept the rebels pinned, and Goings and Colbert joined Winters in storming the guerillas. The enemy looked in fear as the three men charged them, bringing down gunfire and stabbing the combatants who were left at close range. Winters was ready for more when no rebels remained in teh room. Suddenly, without thinking, he kneeled to the ground and held his head in his hands, stunned. The other men stood around him not knowing what to say. Winters walked over to his wife's body, made the sign of the cross, and stood up again.
"Well, men, we're not done yet."

A Felucan anthro-cat paratrooper lay in the tall grass at the southern perimiter of the airport. To his face he held a set of binoculars, his helmet laying beside him and his pointed ears twitched slightly. He then looked at another soldier laying beside him, a wolfhound anthro. "Radio." The corporal handed it over.
"This is Lieutenant Greene. Go-code, granite. Repeat, granite."
A couple of minutes later, soldiers wearing grey and black city camo over their Full Spectrum Combat Armor dashed forward to use wire cutters on the fence around the airport. With gaps opened up more squad members move forward with M100 SAWs (Squad Assault Weapons) and laid down on both sides of the fence to cover the insertion.
Soldiers moved forward by squads to take cover behind one of the loading docks of the terminal building.
The cat, one Lieutenant Greene strode forward now wearing his black helmet with the featureless faceplate. Lieutenants insignia show on the forehead of the helmet. He slowly leans around the corner while looking into the loading dock. "It's clear. Okay, 2nd Platoon, I want A, B and C squads to secure this area. D and E, go back and hold the fence line to form a perimeter." Gesturing with one gloved hand.
"1st Platoon, follow me." Versed in urban fighting, squads moved forward with two or three providing cover while several others moved, each covering individual looking in a different direction. The platoon manuvered forward and into the loading dock area. Semi-trucks sat where their drivers had left them when the airport was taken, and other than the gunfire from other sections of the airport the place seemed quiet.

Winters and his squad entered the large security area. No enemies in site. For Winters, he finally had a little peace.
"Alright men, we'll take five, then we're up and at 'em again."
As soon as the men sat down, the entire left wall fell in. The remains of an Amazonian tank, hit by an explosive charge, had been propelled through the airport wall. Rebel forces began streaming in through the new entrance.
"Holy crap-men, take firing positions, get down!"
The Amazonian squad ducked behind any cover avaliable. Fire from the rebels blasted over them, shells recocheting off of countertops. Goings set up his MG on an overturned table and begun pulsing fire at the oncoming rebels. Winters switched to grenades and fired two out of his assault rifle. A rebel had managed to get up to the men. As he prepared to shoot Winters in the face, Peppers kicked him aside and stabbed him with his bayonet. More rebels kept coming. How much more can we take? thought Winters.

Lieutenant Greene had 1st Platoon deploying through the storage terminal. They'd found no one. It seemed everyone had been shuffled off to the main boarding terminal.
Approaching a set of windows along one wall, he looked out across the tarmac to see figures moving about and fighting. Quickly A, B, C and D squads from 1st Platoon deployed in a position to overlook the airfield and the primary terminal across the way. E squad was sent further into the storage terminal to cover the rear.
It could have been one hell of an ambush position. Instead though, they witnessed a tank go crashing through the wall of the main terminal and the rebels begin pouring in.
"Fire!"
SAWs and assault rifles opened up, tracer rounds scything towards either side of the hole in the wall to try and chop down the rebels as they charged it.
The wolfhound corporal waved from his position behind a baggage check-in counter, "Sir they're trying to come up the left flank! Manuvering for suppression fire now." And he took his squad, Echo Squad through the luggage terminal to cut off a thrust by the rebels.
An anthro-tiger grenadier with an M200 grenade launcher slung under his AR1 rifle flipped up the vertical iron sights on his weapon and took careful aim. "FIRE IN THE HOLE!" Shouted towards Winters and his people in that hole in the wall across the terminal before he took a shot. The round hit the ground about 20 feet to the left of the hole in the ground, spraying the outside of the building and rebels with shrapnel.

The 6th & 10th Special Operations Assualt Team (S.O.A.T) lead by Capt. O'neal linked up with the Sqaud and they began firing at the rebels blowing on to bits with a grenade launched from O'neal's assault rifle amist all the chaos O'neal said to Winters "Names Capt. James O'neal thought you could use some help" as they continued to fight.

General Antillies Confered with General Cracken in the Centeral Terminal.
"Looks like all the Rebel have left is the south-eastern portion of the Airport, plus the northeastern terminal T-13. Other than that, its all under Coalation control. Exept for a few meager pockets of resistnace of course." Cracken reported.
"Yes, but the Control Tower is in the southeast, and they still have around 500 troops, are heavily dug in and have god knows how many snipers in the Tower." Antillies mused.
"Captian Veers reported in" a messanger announced, "Captian Winters and his Squad strayed into enemy territory and are pinned down."
"Shit!"Cracken swore
"I would send more men, but all the men i got are either helping Not Quite Dead Peoples or attepting to take that last Terminal. We just have to hope someone else can save them" Antillies said gravely.

OOC: The Felucans came in from the south. Cut through the airport's fence and took over a baggage terminal across from that T-13 terminal that Amazonian and The Consolate are trapped in. Currently firing on the rebels trying to get through the hole in the wall at T-13.

The sky was filled with C-17 Globemasters as far as Lietenant Hansburough could see. The airport was almost within visual range, and the paratroopers were suiting up. The order came in to divert 20 Globemasters to help the Amazonian and The Consolate forces so thats what they did. The other 60 stayed in course for the south eastern side of the airport. He looked around again to see if Anti-Aircraft fire had started and still saw all units accounted for. He looked at the overlay again but it still appeared that they should be into the thick of it by now.
Suddenly the Globemaster to the left of his exploded in a brilliant display of flak that sent his Globe reeling. Globemasters started exploding everywhere in the formation but they kept on for the airport. Then they were over it and paratroopers started flying out in the thick of flack and missle fire. He kept his Globe level and began his run, he was delivering a Paladin onto the hilltops on the otherside of the airport for Support fire. He rolled onto his side and began a dive for the ground, then twisted back and started climbing up on the left side to keep a narrow crossframe.
He kept going then released his cargo to land on the hilltops, then headed back to base. He was too busy to notice the missle alarm...

Cargo Terminal
A corporal ran into the cargo terminal from the loading docks. Ducking low to avoid bullets that would crash through the glass wall occasionally, he made his way to where Lieutenant Greene was crouched. "Sir, there's aircraft overhead. C-17s. They're deploying 'chutes but getting hit like mad."
Greene bobbed his black-helmeted head and began to give orders.
Minutes later, 2nd Platoon was manuvering behind the cargo building to get around it and get a good view of the T-13 terminal. Squads began to lay down covering fire while more squads manuvered, making their way towards the shadow cast by a jet liner sitting on the runway. Taking cover there, they began to put in suppression fire.
Perimeter of Airport
An anthro-fox and his spotter lay motionless 200 meters from the fence. Their bodies were covered over with ghillie suits, and one cradled a massive .50 caliber rifle in his arms with a scope. The other had a standard AR1 with grenade launcher. Right now though he had a set of binoculars to his eyes, searching for a target.
"Two o-clock. Four hundred meters."
The fox with the rifle slowly swiveled the tip of the weapon slightly to the right. "I see him." In the crosshairs, a rebel was aiming a Stinger missile towards the sky. The fox's thumb dialed the elevation up two notches, then he drew in half a breath. The rifle bucked in his arms, and a large bullet streaked downrange. The bullet, aimed at the face would drop slightly as it crossed the distance and strike the insurgent in the throat, cleanly blowing through. Bits of bone and vertabre spewed from his open mouth and the wound as he collapsed, the Stinger unfired.
The sniper and his spotter cooly continued their work, "Twelve, at five hundred meters."
"I see him.."

A grenade flew through the air, landing next to Winters. He had just enough time to threw it back before the explosive detonated violently in mid-air. Still firing, Winters led the squad to positions behind a half-destroyed airliner in a hanger.
"Cap'n, they got us pinned down, what're we gonna do next?"
"Keep pulling the trigger, Corporal, that's all we can do."
Goings had taken a mortar from a dead Amazonian crew and now set it up beneath the wing of the airliner. Pumping out shells, he and Colbert quickly had the rebels taking cover from the projectiles as explosions dotted the rebel lines fifty meters in front of them. The rebels set up a mortar to return fire but Winters took out the team with quick bursts from his assault rifle. RPGs soared in from the rebels, exploding in the rear of the hanger.
"We can't stay here, let's move!"
Firing and manuevering, the four Amazonians kept their heads down to avoid the incoming fire of the persistent rebels.
"Sir, we got friendly air in the sky above, getting hit by fire!"
"Alright, let's move towards those flak positions to try and help them out."
The Amazonians moved just before another RPG struck the area where they had been crouching. A rebel platoon got up from cover and began pursuing the squad, trailing them with rifle fire. Winters's squad took position behind empty fuel drums, firing at the approaching platoon. Their cooridinated assault fire pinned the rebels down, convincing them that maybe the rebels weren't such an easy target. Goings set up his mortar as he and Colbert began to fire on the first flak positions, sending the operators fleeing from the device as projectiles slammed into the machine, damaging the fire barrels. Winters and Peppers gave them cover with their assault rifle.
"Hey, I might make it back from this Goddamned fight after all." Peppers remarked sarcastically.

Captain Dawson shrugged off his parachute and checked his weapons for damage. His radio had a bit of flak stuck in the side but it looked workable, and the rest of his equipment looked fine. The rest of his squad came down and checked themselves and started to gather around him.
They had landed next to the Air Control Tower in the southwest that was keeping the flaks accurate hit ratio. They did one more check and prepared to move in.
