History:
The German Empire, founded under the Kaiser Wilhelm I and the Grand Chancellor Otto von Bismark, is the realization of thousands of years of fragmented German politics. The Empire, created from the military proficency of the Kingdom of Prussia, now comprises the entirety of European Germans, save those in Austria-Hungary. Carrying on the tradition of their Prussia predeccessors, they control the most powerful army and second strongest navy in the world. Their trade and industry are second to none in Europe, save the United Kingdom and they hold a powerful position in the center of the continent. After the not to distant Franco-Prussian war, the French people are fearful of the Germans, having defeated them for the first time in centuries. The Russians, once allies of the Germans, have recently fallen out of touch with them, allying themselves with the French, but hope may remain. Germany is intent on expanding its political and military power, while holding onto what few allies it still has.

May peace be upon you,

We greet our friends and Berlin and praise our relationship as nations, whether were it the economic (the Berlin-Baghdad Railway) or Military
(millitary advisors) Germany has proven to be a good friend of the Sultan and the Sublime Porte.

We would like to propose that we begin talks for a mutual defense pact between our two great nations, as it seems we share a common neighbor who has an unhealthy problem of expanding into the rightful territories of others.

We eagerly await your response,

Servent of the Sultan,
Said Halim Pasha

Message to Wilhelm II from the Italian Foreign Ministry

Justice must be done. We will support all German and Austrian Military pursuits. However it has long been our aim to unite the Italian peoples under one ruler, we therefore ask you to support us when we try through diplomatic means to take control of the Trieste province of Austria-Hungary. We would also like to know exactly whom has declared war on whom.

Messenger Arrives:

Russia wishes to convey that currently it has begun a state of war with Austria-Hungary in relation to a defence of it's fellow Slavs. This need not concern the Reich as this is a simple Balkan conflict. Germany would be ill advised to start a conflict that would draw the entire world into chaos. An Eastern Europe affair should remain as such between Eastern European countries.

To the Kaiser of the Empire of Germany,

May we first make our intentions of complete neutrality clear in this war, we have no wish to fight on either side.

However, another nation made the same claim. I am refering, of course, to Belgium. It is very worying for us that this will for neutrality was ignored, as it opens the possibility of an attack on us. As such, we would like guarantees that we will not be attacked.

Please remember that France is no friend of ours either, and so we will be making similar demands on them. However, Germany is the one who violated Belgium's neutrality, thus calling on our reaction.

To prevent any threat to Switzerland, no substantial German force is to move south of Freiburg. To prevent any attack by the French forces in this area, we are willing to offer a screen of swiss troups along the border up to the Voges. An identical demand and offer will be given to France, and the presence of neutral international forces may deter either of your nations from entering in a military campaign in this area. This will also remove a substantial piece of your front, thus allowing for you to concentrate more troups elsewhere. We hope you will see the interest you have in accepting our offer.

peacefully yours,

OOC: where exactly is the Franco-Germanic border? Who owns Belfort? Better yet, who controls Belfort?

We respect the rights of the Swiss People. Never would we think of harming our brothers in such a way. I am sure you are nervous of our warfare in Belgium and Luxembourg, but you need understand that we had reports they were lending aid to the allied forces. If there is anything that the Reich can do for you to show our strength of unity, we shall. Also, is there perhaps a way the German peoples of our two nations could forge a closer alliance? Together, we would be a force in the world to be reckoned with. What say you?

Deepest Respects:

Kaiser Wilhelm II

Whatever suspicions you may have had, we cannot believe that the King of Belgium would have cooperated with the Allies unless he felt greatly threatened by you. Thus we cannot even consider any form of alliance with you untill Belgium has been liberated. And we have no "German people" in our nation. We are swiss and only swiss, even if the languages are similar.
