OOC: Future Tech Questions

I could not find this stuff in a FAQ, and/OR Sticky.

So I will ask the community.

I am new to NS/FT/RP.

In previous RPs I have always Roleplayed my future society with the following basic things:

Anti-matter technology
--PION impulse drive rocket technology
---Antimatter/Matter warheads for missile/torpedo offensive weapons
----Anti-Matter/Matter power reaction power generators

Hyperspace intergalatic drive technology

I DO NOT USE SUBSPACE

Lasers(of various offensive types)
Ion blasters(basically particle weapons)
Electromagnetic projectile weapons(I use more of a coil variety so I dont call them railguns)

Particle Shields(Defense against Projectile based weapons)
Various Field Shielding/Sometimes called Ray Shields(Protection from energy based weapons)

Cloaking systems
The Cloaking system I use can not be placed on a vessel TOO large as the power requirements increase by magnitudes--but it can not be placed on vessels too small because it can only be made to be SOOO small itself.

I use typically a "phasic cloak" so that my vessel slips out of phase with this dimension---based on Hyperspace tehnology.
So that in that shift my vessels cannot be detected(with in reason, I dont mean at all), they do however have limited detection becauseof this, and they can not be attacked or attack (unless of course the enemy enters the same state of phase at the appropriate freq.)

I RP the potential use of phasic weapons----

These are basics, I have had some experience mingling with Star Wars tech, and some Mingling with Star trek tech(the two most common)--

No experience with B5 technologies.

Now, my question is this

I see now many nations here using very Star Wars technology, and even adopting Jedi stuff(my race is completely compatable) .

Is my technology compatable enough to be acceptable tothe over all community? I will change it if, I cant Roleplay with anyone, I mean that is the point of being here.

But if I can stick with what I know, that would be nice too.

My main concern is I have seen Star Wars based threads that look intersting....but I dont want to jump and frag up the thread with my non-canon stuff, if this is a very canon community.

gracias..............

Nah your fine. Just as long as your technology is realistic. btw does anybody have a link to the NS draft room.

With the exception of threads labelled "Canon-Tech Only" or something along those lines, your particular brand of Star Wars tech should be completely acceptable. I say 'should' because there's always some Star Wars fanatic or Trekkie that forbids anything original, but they're few and far between (And often they're not bad people, and they'll make allowances if you don't claim you've got 100 Death Stars supported by a couple thousand Sun Crushers).

I, personally, use primarily FreeSpace tech, but I've modified and developed so much of my own technology that, if it weren't for the pics I use to represent my ships, FreeSpace fans wouldn't really have any idea where I was getting my info from. If you make the extra effort, it's rather a given that you're going to be dropping in your own personal touches.

Noone FT really cares about the technology specifics, so you can pretty much do whatever you want as long as it isn't ridiculous. Most people are very vague about their ship's capabilities.
