The Brydog Government has announced that the 7.82x 51mm will replaced by the new 6.87x 39mm. The new round was designed to bring the power of the 7.82 in the size of the a modern round. All weapons that fire the 7.82mm are being rechamber for the 6.87mm.

We relies that a 6.87 x 39mm round has very good performance well beyond the ranges that any infantry can effectively engage other infantry with small arms but doubt that a 6.87 x 39mm round could ever make a 7.82 x 51mm round completely obsolete. Most noted in the functions that sould retain the older round would be that of sinper rifles and medium machine guns.
