Snake Eaters Infantry Storefront (MT/FT)

Snake Eaters
10-01-2006, 18:32
OOC: All right, this is my first attempt at a storefront, so you’ll have to bear with me for a while. I’ll also explain the reasoning behind this storefront as well. Simply put, you see military and civil storefronts all the time, but none of them cater solely to the infantry. I intend to do this for one reason: Because I take great pride in having infantry that are realistic and effective.

Also, a little bit of explanation with regard to the technology. Snake Eaters is an FT nation; allow me to make that clear. However, my Special Forces prefer MT weapons. Don’t ask why, they just do. However, they do carry a small supply of FT weapons for use in certain assignments in the armoury. So, for every piece of equipment, I will also place a tech-level next to it. !PLEASE!, only buy equipment appropriate to your tech-level. If you want to buy FT-gear and you are an MT nation, send me a telegram and we’ll work something out. I can supply MT, PMT and FT nations.

All right, on with the show.

*Open Broadcast on all frequencies*
In Snake Eaters, we take great pride in our Special Forces. These men and women are the cream of the military, and they perform jobs that many people deem impossible. In the past, they have opened their facilities to the wider world, and have trained others in their basic level course. However, until now, they have not shared their equipment with the world at large, choosing to operate largely in secret. They have now chosen to share their expertise with the galaxy at large, and that means allowing others to use their equipment.

This storefront is completely automated, and sends orders via the ITH (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=422493) to your system or planet. Please do all your own maths, and double check it, for there will be a 5% penalty charge for those who submit faulty totals.

Section 1: Handguns
All Handguns are supplied in boxes; 15 weapons per box. Therefore, all prices given are prices for an entire box. We cannot supply weapons individually, as this has been deemed economically unsound.

Browning High Power Mk 3 (http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a6/SnakeEaters/Infantry%20Storefront/BrowningHP.jpg)
The last firearms design to come from J.M Browning himself, who died in 1926. This design is manufactured by FN (Fabrique Nationale) Herstal, Belgium. The design is highly reliable and robust, with a large magazine and good stopping power, making it a favourite with Special Forces and bodyguards alike despite it’s age.

Tech-Level: MT
Calibre: 9x19 mm
Length: 200mm
Weight: 0.88kg unloaded, 1.04kg loaded

Action: Single
Price: $3750 ($250 per weapon)

Glock pistols (http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a6/SnakeEaters/Infantry%20Storefront/Glock.gif)
Largely made of plastic, all Glocks are nevertheless extremely reliable and potent weapons in trained hands. A number of variations exist, in a variety of calibres and sizes. However, they are extremely simple to use, the basic Glock 17 consisting only of 33 parts, and can be stripped in a matter of seconds. The safety mechanism of all Glocks is conducted by a group of internal mechanisms, meaning that all you have to do is draw and fire, as the weapon is safe when holstered, and does not release the safety catch until you pull the trigger

Tech-Level: MT
Calibre(s): 9x19 mm (Glock 17), 10mm (Glock 20)
Length: 186mm
Weight: 0.62kg unloaded, 0.88kg loaded.

Price: $4500 ($300 per weapon)

IMI Desert Eagle (http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a6/SnakeEaters/Infantry%20Storefront/desert-eagle-01.jpg)
A weapon much popularised by Hollywood action films, this pistol is still one of only a few gas-operated blowback handguns in existence. The power of the Magnum rounds used makes give it stopping power like no other, however this power does make it very difficult to handle effectively. It is, contrary to the myth, impossible to wield a Desert Eagle one handed with any real degree of accuracy. We do not offer the .50 Action Express round.

Tech-Level: MT
Calibre(s): 0.35in Magnum, 0.44in Magnum
Length: 260mm
Weight: 1.701kg unloaded, 1.730kg loaded
Magazine capacities: 9 rounds (0.357), 7 rounds (0.44)
Action: Single
Price: $6750 ($450 per weapon)

Colt M1911A1 (http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a6/SnakeEaters/Infantry%20Storefront/sa-m1911a1.jpg)
Although this handgun was first used in 1911, the weapon is still very popular today due to it’s power, thanks to the 0.45 ACP round if fires. Since 1911, it has been modernised many times by many different manufacturers, including Colt. We stock the original, as well as the Delta Elite, which is the same basic design but using the 10mm round.

Tech-Level: MT
Calibre(s): 0.45in ACP, 10mm
Length: 219mm
Weight: 1.36kg unloaded, 1.55kg loaded
Magazine capacities: 7 rounds (0.45), 11 rounds (10mm)
Action: Single
Price: $3000 ($200 per weapon)

FN Five seveN Tactical (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/d/d0/Fn_fiveseven.gif)
One of Fabrique Nationale's latest offerings, the Five-seveN is an unusual pistol. FN claims that thanks to the use of their newly designed 5.7 x 28 mm round, the Five-seveN is capable of piercing the older US Army PASGT vest at 300 meters range, and a U.S. Army PASGT 'Kevlar' helmet at a range of 240 meters. The advantages of the pistol itself include its weight (the 5.7 mm round weighs half as much as a standard 9 mm round), its recoil (FN claims the 5.7 mm round produces roughly half the felt recoil of a 9 mm round), and its 20-round magazine, which holds significantly more ammunition than other pistols. Despite its magazine capacity, the Five-seveN is a light pistol, as well as being reasonably compact. Though seemingly an effective weapon, the Five-seveN has not been widely adopted, due mostly to the unconventional concept and ammunition

Tech-Level: MT
Calibre: 5.7x28mm
Length: 208mm
Weight: .617kg unloaded, .744kg loaded
Magazine Capacity: 10 or 20 rounds
Action: Single
Price: $4500 ($300 per weapon)

Colt M1873 Single Action Army (http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a6/SnakeEaters/Infantry%20Storefront/SAA.jpg)
Despite it’s age and antiquity, this single-action revolver is still just as deadly as it was when it was first introduced. Revolvers are renowned for their ruggedness under extreme conditions, as well as sporting large amounts of stopping power. The SAA is a legendary weapon, using 0.45in Long rounds, making them more deadly than the modern day rounds of the same calibre. The slower speeds of a revolver bullet mean it is more likely to lodge within the target, causing extremely painful injuries. However, like all revolvers, it suffers from the problem The version seen here is the 5 ½, the Artillery model.

Tech-Level: MT
Calibre: 0.45in Long
Length: 211mm
Weight: 0.8kg unloaded, 0.97kg loaded
Magazine Capacity: 6 rounds
Action: Single
Price: $6000 ($400 per weapon)

Enfield No 2 Mk 1* (http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a6/SnakeEaters/Infantry%20Storefront/enfield_no2_mk1_star.jpg)
The British Tank Corps developed this version of the standard British service revolver for World War Two in the late 1930’s, redesigned the original weapon by a large margin, which in itself had been derived from the Webley Mark 6 service revolver, rendered obsolete sometime before. Built without spurs in order to prevent snagging on clothing and other things at close quarters, this double-action pistol was still in use after World War Two.

Tech-Level: MT
Calibre: .38 S&W
Length: 198mm
Weight: 0.765kg unloaded, 0.9kg loaded
Magazine Capacity: 6 rounds
Action: Double
Price: $4500 ($300 per weapon)

DC15s Side Arm Blaster (http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a6/SnakeEaters/Infantry%20Storefront/Dc15s_RepComm.jpg)
The BlasTech DC15s SAB is the standard sidearm for Snake Eaters Colonial Marines, as well as for the Old Republic’s Clone Commandoes. It is extremely useful in close-quarters situations, or when conservation of ammunition is paramount The self-charging dynamic energy cell keeps the weapon constantly recharged at a slow but steady rate.

Tech-Level: FT
Ammunition Type: Charged plasma bolts, activated by tibanna gas
Recharge Rate: 7 rounds per second
Length: 200mm
Weight: 0.86kg
Price: $11250 ($750 per weapon)

Type-2 Hand Phaser (http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Phaser)
These weapons (http://photobucket.com/albums/a6/SnakeEaters/Infantry%20Storefront/?action=view&current=phaserpistol.jpg) are refined models of the phasers used by those of the Federation. The wand like design has been regressed into a more pistol like format for ease of use and more point-ability (that is, it is more naturally adapted to point at the target). Unlike many phasers, this weapon uses phaser pulses. It also incorporates 16 settings, each more capable of damage than the last

Tech-Level: FT
Ammunition: Energy passage through certain crystals, resulting in the Nadion Effect.
Recharge Rate: Dependent on setting
Length: 231mm
Weight: 0.95kg
Price: $11250 ($750 per weapon)

OOC: Sorry for lack of detail on the image of this weapon, but to it was difficult to find.

Section 2: Sub-Machine Guns
All Sub-Machine Guns are provided in crates of 10.

Heckler & Koch MP5
The MP5 is considered by many to be the definative sub-machine gun. It is highly accurate, well balanced and capable of great things. However, this weapon is not suited to life in the field, and is instead more suited to close-quaters combat, such as that involved in hostage-rescue. The MP5 shot to fame as the weapon used by the British SAS in the Iranian Embassay Seige in 1980. Since then, it has developed a great following befitting both the weapon and the manufacturer. We stock four different versions of the MP5:

MP5A3 (http://www.atmagazin.cz/obr/1_2004/34c.gif) - The most common version used, featuring retractable buttstock and 'SEF' trigger group.

MP5SD6 (http://www.waffenworld.de/images/25284mp5sd6gewehr.jpg) - Although all MP5's can carry suppressors, this version of the weapon has an integrated suppressor and a specially-made barrel which reduces the muzzle velocity of its ammunition to just below the speed of sound. The result is that the MP5SD series is almost inaudible at distances of more than 15 meters. By its remarkable sound and almost invisible muzzle flash, it is chosen as a stealthy operating weapon in many police and military forces. This weapon carries a 'Navy/SEF' trigger group, and a retractable buttstock

MP5KA4 (http://www.civiliangunner.com/images/MP5K.jpg) - The highly shortened version, with the barrel length reduced drastically. Introduced as weapon for bodyguards (the potential for its sale to bodyguards as a concealable, but fully-automatic weapon) and as a personal defence weapon (PDW) for pilots and tank crews. This version also sports a three-round burst setting.

MP5N (http://world.guns.ru/smg/hk_mp5n.jpg) - The Naval version of the MP5, this weapon is designed for use by sea-borne infantry forces, such as the Marines. The weapon can be throughly immersed in water, features a fully-ambidextrous trigger group, a retractable stock, and a threaded barrel for mounting suppressors. In addition, HK replaced many of the metal parts on the MP5N with lighter and corrosion-resistant plastics.

Tech-Level: MT
Calibre(s): 9x19 mm Luger (all bar MP5/10), 10mm (MP5/10)
Length: 490 mm retracted, 660mm fully extended
Weight: 2.54kg unloaded, 2.98kg loaded.
Magazine Capacity: 15 or 30 round magazines
Price: $8000 ($800 per weapon)(all variations)

FN P90TR (http://www.gun-world.net/article/Belgium/fn/5_7mm/p90/p90tr_post.jpg)
It is designed to accommodate both left and right-handed shooters — it features an ambidextrous fire selector and charging handle, and downward ejection of spent shells. It is built in a unique bullpup configuration that places the 50-round translucid magazine above the weapon, parallel to the barrel. A circular ramp at the bottom of each magazine re-aligns each round to the barrel. This design makes the weapon extremely compact and maneuverable and the transparent magazine makes it easy to quickly check the number of rounds left. The P90 is constructed largely out of weight-saving polymers. Field stripping the PS90 can be done in under 20 seconds breaking it apart into 4 major groups: barrel support/optical sight group, moving parts group, hammer group, and frame/trigger group. This particular model, the TR, consists of the basic P90, with the addition of a triple Picatinny Rail Interface System (RIS). There is one full-length rail on the top of the base and two rail "stumps" on the sides. This setup allows the P90 to mount a variety of commercial scopes, laser sights, and tactical lights that may not fit on the regular model.

Tech-Level: MT
Calibre: 5.7 x 28mm
Length:500mm
Weight: 2.5kg unloaded, 3kg loaded
Magazine Capacity: 50 rounds
Price: $8500 ($850 per weapon)

Israel Military Industries Uzi (http://www.israeli-weapons.com/weapons/small_arms/uzi/uzi_2.jpg)
The Uzi (sometimes seen as UZI) sub-machine gun is a weapon that, at the time, incorporated a number of features that were not common. Since then, these features, such as the blowback operated mechanism, have found their way into the mainstream of SMG designs. First introduced in the 1950's, and still serving on the front-line in a limited capacity, it is a superb weapon but does suffer from the fact it fires from an open bolt, thus exposing the interior mechanism to dust and other such things, as well as reducing accuracy.

Tech Level: MT

Section 4: Sniper Rifles
All sniper rifles are supplied in crates of 5.

L96A1
Arctic Warfare (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/2/29/Ai_sm.jpg)
The Accuracy International Arctic Warfare rifle is a bolt-action sniper rifle designed by the British company Accuracy International, adopted by the British Army as the L96A1. Its distinctive green frame, unique design and reliability in adverse weather conditions, have made it a popular weapon. The rifle has about 0.5 MOA, and its maximum effective range is about 600 m with a Schmidt & Bender 6 x 24 scope.

Tech-Level: MT
Calibre: 7.62x51mm NATO
Length:1180mm
Weight: 5.4kg unloaded, 6.5kg loaded.
Magazine Capacity: 10 rounds
Action: Bolt-action
Scope: 6x24 Schmidt and Bender.
Effective Range: 600-1000m
Price: $15000 ($3000 per weapon)

SVD Dragunov (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/3/3a/Dragunov_on_range.JPG)
It is less a "sniper" rifle than what the U.S. military terms a "designated-marksman" rifle or the Israelis term a "squad-sniper" rifle, and used in that role instead of as a sniper rifle. This role involves a scoped, accurized, semiauto rifle used at ranges substantially beyond normal infantry rifles, but at ranges substantially shorter than bolt-action sniper rifles are capable of. Such rifles are often used in support of an actual sniper with an actual sniper rifle.

Tech-Level: MT
Calibre: 7.62x54R
Length:1125mm
Weight: 4.31kg unloaded, 5.5kg loaded.
Magazine Capacity: 10 rounds
Action: semi-automatic; gas-operated
Scope: 4x24 PSO-1, including battery-operated reticule and a passive infrared filter
Effective Range: 800m
Price: $12500 ($2500 per weapon)

Heckler&Koch PSG-1 (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/6/6a/PSG1-1.jpg) LIMITED STOCK!!!! Only 200 rifles avaliable (40 crates)
The PSG-1 ("Präzisions-Scharfschützen-Gewehr", German for "precision sharpshooting gun") is a widely known semi-automatic sniper rifle designed by the German company Heckler & Koch. This rifle is said to be developed in response to the Munich Massacre at the Olympics in 1972. The West German police units could not engage the terrorists fast enough to prevent them from killing the hostages. H&K was then commissioned to create a high accuracy, large shot capacity, semi-automatic rifle for police and military use. It has a long and outstanding reputation as an extremely reliable and high performance rifle, commonly associated with elite sniper units. All PSG-1s are free of iron sights but come mounted with the Hensoldt 6x42 scope with illuminated reticule, a heavy free-floating barrel and adjustable stock. The PSG-1 stock can be adjusted in all directions, to perfectly fit anybody using it. Furthermore it features a removable and adjustable trigger unit, for further individual perfection of the rifle. Another unique characteristic of the PSG-1 is, after firing, the bullet casing is ejected with substantial force, reportedly enough to throw it approximately 10 metres sideways. While this is generally not an issue for law enforcement snipers, it greatly compromises the military use of the rifle, because it would easily give away the sniper's position. The brass is also difficult to find for clearing the area of usage marks afterwards.

Due to its high cost ($12,000 USD per rifle) and government import restriction, the number of PSG-1 in Snake Eaters is very limited.

Barrett M82A1 Rifle (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/85/M82rifle.jpg)
The M82 rifle is a high powered heavy sniper rifle developed by the U.S. Barrett Firearms Company. Used as an anti-matériel weapon and EOD (explosive ordnance disposal) tool, the long effective range, over 1500m with a record shot of 2500m, along with high energy and availability of highly effective ammunition such as API and Raufoss Mk 211 allows for effective operations against targets like radar cabins, trucks, parked aircraft and so on. The shot can penetrate a block of concrete 1m thick and can knock through mutiple targets at once. The M82 can also be used to defeat human targets from standoff range or when targets are behind cover but anti-personnel work is not a major application for the M82
