Wolf Broadcasting, a popular New Felucan source of unbiased news reported last week that protests were being planned around the capital of Feluca City in response to leaked video footage of Felucan soldiers in training.
The scene opens up in the studio, with a handsome canine broadcaster, and a pretty skunk female with an immaculately preened tail. They sat between two other people a porcupine wearing a business suit, and a tiger in a military uniform.
The female broadcaster was talking, smiling brilliantly into the camera, "Welcome back. I'm Amy Gray and today we have very special guests. This is Representitive George Brown, of the Lake District." Gesturing to the porcupine, who smiled. "And this is Major John Troy of the Felucan Marine Corp." The tiger nodded his head.
The male broadcaster leaned in, Dave Kally, "Thank you both for coming today. There has been a lot of rumors and false reporting circulating among other networks about these videos from Stockyard Marine Base. First, lets take a look at pieces of them."
::The screen fades and opens up into a new scene. It's what looks like a country road, paved and wide with trees on both sides. Hundreds of Anthros trot down the road in formation wearing grey shirts and camo BDU bottoms.::
One drill instructor runs alongside the formation near its head, head held high as he bellowed into the morning mist, "I!"
To which the soldiers replied, "I will never accept defeat!"
The instructor continued to lead, "I!"
And the cadance continued, "I will never quit!"
And again, "I!"
to which the formation shouted, "I am the infantry!"
::That scene faded, to show a training grounds where soldiers wrestled with each other to practice basic throw, tackle and killing techniques. One instructor was talking to the camera appearently in some sort of interview or documentation, "We still require each and every person who passes through basic camp to complete a hand-to-hand combat course. It would be negligent otherwise." While in the backround, other instructors were clearly demonstrating no-weapon killing methods.::
::Another scene, this time special forces soldiers were seen huddled on a beach, obviously cold, about waist deep in the tide. Nearby is a rubber boat that is upside down. A drill sergeant strolled back and forth at the edge of the water, "You will forget about misery. You will forget about the cold. You will focus on your jobs, because if you don't, the man next to you will not make it home from the mission."::
The cameras focused on the studio again, and the porcupine, George Brown immedietly started talking, "What you see here are clear examples of cruelty and brainwashing! These are our young men and women, not machines that need to be programmed to destroy. Think of the psychological harm that the military is doing, for what? We're not under attack!"
Major Troy cleared his throat with a rumble, "These are acceptable training practices. It promotes a bond among the soldiers, comradary and most of all, strength. By building up the individual skills of each and every man and woman and then molding that into a cohesive fighting force, we are able to defend our country against any threat."
Amy Gray smiled as the camera turned to her, "We'll be back with more after these commercials."
