After watching King Kong(The new Remake) and Jurassic Park within two days of each other, I got the insane idea for a dinosaur rampage RPG! Basically, this is the basic story:

After years of genetic research and DNA extraction, Tocrowkia manages to produce dinosaur DNA. Fast forward another ten years, and they have managed to breed over 300 species of Dinosaurs, including the omni-popular Tyrannosaurs Rex and Spinosaurus.

Now, figuring they have something that will be extremely popular going, the Tocrowkian Government decides to put all these dinosaurs on a large, Tocrowkian owned Island in the Indian ocean. They build up a nice Park/Zoo within six months, and start sending out invitations to other nations and their populace.

But the dastardly TLA, Tocrowkia's terrorist rival, sneaks operatives into the park to sabotage it. It remains to be seen if they will succeed...


Stuff!

Sounds fun, right? Of course it will be. Now, as for characters, I guess the only real class open to you is a tourist from your nation. I suppose you could be a Tocrowkian guard or something at the park, but I figure other players will be more comfortable playing a character from their own nation.

The first few pages won't contain any action at all. It will be time for the characters to get to know each other and time for players to develop their characters, as well as tour around the park and see the various dinosaurs.

Rules!

1)Guns aren't allowed in the park. So your character won't start with them.

2)In addition, the armory is locked so anybody seeking guns after the dinosaur break out will have to find a guards keys.

3)No god modding. Your character can get injured, bleed, and die.

4)Please make your character realistic.

no problem, I've been studying dinosaurs all my life, I don't like to brag but I'm kind of an expert, I know a lot. For instance Deinonychus was 10 ft long, 5 ft tall, it's name means terrible claw, it was probably a pack hunter in times of hardship, during rainy seasons it would most likely hunt alone or with a small group, 2-3. So yeah, anybody have any questions, ask me, I'll fill you in the best I can.

Background- A Waffen SS Guard assigned to the Island to head up security, Johan takes his job seriously and will do anything to protect the park and it's visitors, and it's staff

Background- Another Waffen SS Guard assigned to the park, however she is just a grunt within the ranks. She is part of the small group of Park rangers that perform emergency rescues and other operations.


I also plan to have some NPCs to be the scientists on the island and such.

Appearance: Very athletic build, long auburn hair, green eyes, freckles. Has the wholesome girl-next-door look. Cute, but not overly striking.

Background: Geneticist graduate student, just finshed her dissertation and defense. Her adviser, Dr. Jim Reed, knows a few of the scientists working at the Tocrowkian "theme park" and pulled a few strings to get her a job in the labs. Incredibly intelligent and the only female in her department, she feels she always has to prove herself in the male-dominated field. Smart-Aleck, not prissy, just one of the guys. Has had a obsession with dinosaurs since she was little, so this job, in her eyes, is a once in a lifetime chance. Lisa came to the park to get acquainted with the labs, as well as a few days of R&R before starting to work for the Tocrowkians.

During the war he was captured by the enemy. The enemy put him in a POW camp. He devised a way to escape. During the escape Nick was captured. A year after he got home Mike tried to search for his Nick. He promised he would bring him home. Mike found his friend, but Nick was brainwashed. The captors made Mike and Nick play Russian Roulette. Mike pleaded with Nick to come home. Then his friend put the gun in his mouth and shot the gun. His friend died and Mike brought him home. Mike still has flash backs to the war and the Russian Roulette match with Nick Checotarevich. Steve and Mike are still good friends but the way they used to be when Nick was around. They still go deer hunting in memory of Nick.

Sentinenst are any being capable of abstract thought, and the why he would be turned catatonic is a LONG story. The short version is, it's a genetic theing, where he sufferes a kind of "feedback loop" from the death. The shock of the feedback shuts him down. Permanently. It's possible to resist the shut down, but not when he's actively engaged in using his abilities, and trying to resist it leaves him winded and, until he actually beats the feedback, completely defenseless. ANY kjilling can trigger the reaction, but killing a sentient is a garaunteed shut down.

I figured he'd be an interesting character to play, since the rest of the characters seem to be focused on the ability to kill things, his LACK of ability to kill things makes him rather unique among this company.

Tocrowkia, I think you might want to limit the participants to everyone who has posted so far, and deny any further applicants, otherwise, this will have way too many participants. Just my two cents.

We're not really using FT tech though... Some character types that are generally only accepted in FT, yes, but FT tech is staying away from here as far as I can tell.

It defeats the purpose, i think, if some futuristic genetically altered being can come in a kill all the dinosaurs if they are "let loose" but that is just MHO, which doesn't mean too much. Anyways, should be interesting, though.

If you are talking about my guy, don't worry.

There are several restraints before he can shift forms. One is that either his own life or that of someone he cares about has to be in serious danger. Another, is that he is unable to transform at a calm state of mind, the adrenaline has to be pumping really hard first.

In his standard form, the non-combat one, all he has is his martial arts and accelerated/enhanced healing ability (think Wolverine from X-Men).

hey, that's OK, mine is only a geneticist. maybe she can study the genetic makeup if the aliens and such and then change the genetic make-up of your journalist to emulate one of them. we could make the superman of dino hunters.
