What happened to all the Decent AND Open War threads? All I see now is nations with about 100 posts all complaining about civil war or countless RP groups closing out everyone who isn't a member.

If anyone knows of a Decent and Open War Thread that hasn't reached the Diplomacy stage does anyone wanna link me it?

As a new NSer, and someone who wants to RP, I agree. I've only seen one or two open war RPs that were early enough for me to join, and they both flamed out fairly quickly.

Anyway of course I wanna fight you. Its more fun to lose anyway and I have never fought a battle in my main land. Its a good thing national unity is excellent and I have never had a civil war.... it means more conscripts who don't want to be payed to fight back the enroaching foreign devils!

Civil wars have been done as many times it's lost all effect.... the same with terrorism.... The creativity is dwindling.....

My view of the problem is that sometimes a thread can be too open and anyone can just walk in; RPs like that (The Cassiopean Invasion of TFU's Systems springs to mind) will often end up riddled with dog-pilers and arguments; most often resulting in a total ignore of the situation.

While I try not to ignore anyone; it can, in those circumstances, seem very difficult

i only recently returned, but yea, i have to agree... but then, you gotta rememebr NS is more popular during the summer. I've seen more threads during the summer months then i do during the winter months... and yea, chronosia i know you try not to ignore people, you put up with me in a few RPs lol

You get a flood of inexperienced RPers as well as straight up n00bs, and the more experienced RPers get frustrated because they put time and effort into creating a good story that turns out to be a waste of time.

People would rather RP in a closed environment because it cuts down on flames, n00bs, and the chance that the RP will be ruined.

I would Red Tide but I stick with Future Tech, I had a Modern Tech background once, but it all changed when i played Halo for the first time.

I'll tell you the reason I don't do open RPs: I've seen way too many open RPs where people have launched a gazillion nukes and wiped out countries or that would involve being dragged into an RP with someone I ignore for damned good reasons.

Even if that weren't the case, when there are more than a few players involved in a RP, they tend to go so fast that it's nearly impossible to keep up with events. That's why I believe that RPs should be mostly closed, especially if you have a storyline that you want to see through to its conclusion.

Hey, so long as they're not all ISDs they aren't too bad. My Gunships are extremely small, but still qualify as ships. I have 800 in each fleet. There are often tens of thousands of ships in a single major fleet engagement. Each of Chrons fleets, for example, are thousands of ships strong...

Open War RP's can sometimes get confusing, with hundereds of people posting, and generaly you either get swamped and have a ton of pages to read through, or it ends up in a big flame war,
