Waterhelper's First FTL travel

Waterhelper

A small colony ship with 1,000 people aboard just left the system, and are beginning the countdown to go to a nearby star to found a colony after it was discovered that it had a suitable habitat. (As in M class not the O class my people currently have, and this is a new account so...)
10...9...8...7...6...4...3...2...1... the new hyper drive (What form of FTL propulsion do they use here?) activated and carried them to the star desgnated J2L-789 10.7 lys from the home system of Waterhelper.

(It would be nice if someone could RP the small outpost on the M class planet.)
"We are arriving at our destination sir." announced sensor oficer Saul Kenneth
"Good drop to sublight speeds."
"Yes, Sir."
As they got out they saw the planet they wanted to begin their new lives... along with a small outpost and a ship with vastly more supperior technology.

The Vergri was orbitting over the R&R facility that the third fleet had set up on a appropriate world that was out of the way and had the right climate when a largish colonial type ship appeared.

This is the Vergri, battleship of the Theao navy. We must ask what your purpose is in visiting this system.

Captain Geral Fell

"Ummm..." he stammers "This is the colonial ship Aqua III (the one after two failed FTL ships) We have come to tr to settle this planet, but i assume that it has already been taken." he thinks...
"If we make a enemy here we will most surely be wiped out. I at least hope we can make allies or at least some relations."

The Vergri sent out another message that went as follows.
We would be interested in talking this over. If you are willing to talk, please send a shuttle carrying someone empowered to make executive decisions to the co-ordinates* inclosed in the transmission.

Captain Geral Fell

"We will come down AquaIII out."
"What do the rules say about first contact with a advanced race?"
*the crew starts looking through various data pads*
"Found it! It said that the captain along with the first officer will act in place of a diplomat or another government official."
"Then lets go down shall we." The captain and the first officer depart for the shuttle N3C-0003-1 .(the Aqua III has 2 shuttles and its serial number is N3C-0003)
The shuttle descended and landed. The two officers then departed from the shuttle craft.

Secret IC: Coming out of Hyperspace, Cloaked, was a Cassiopeian Spy Droid, a Satellite Droid used for Spying on other Nations. It was near a Mal'junka Class Star System (one with a Earth Like or Tar'ria Class Planet.) and it had seen something that the Cassiopeians wouldn't like. a Theao Starship and a unknown ship orbiting the Planet. Now the Cassiopeians would Ignore this if the Planet was many light years from The Ten Systems Region. But the System was close to The Territory claimed by The Empire...Too Close

Darkkaan, Cassiopeia Galaxy.

And The Cassiopeians were not just Mad, they were Pissed! Aliens near their Territory in the Milky Way was not liked by the Grand Counsil, or by Galactic Empress Cas'rai Gon'dor'ri, who was called The 'Gunboat diplomat' (like everyone else in The Cassiopeian Empire.) And she wanted the Alien Ship, even if they attacked The Theao Starship, Blasted to nothing. The Best one to to it would be General Chimaera.

The Aliens were not going to be near The Ten systems Region for long.

"Actually, this is the only real building on the planet." The driver replied with a chuckle at what they'd do if they actually got a chance to see the capital.

Meanwhile in Orbit

The Vergri's sensors picked up that was common with hyperspace rifts, thought as it was only a small rift, it was logged and left alone.

''Thank you driver.'' said the captain as he hopped out yet again. seeing the two greeters they walked over to greet them.
"Good... morning, its morning right? Anyway my name is captain lak'na"
"I am Commander tach a pleasure to meat you." It was obvious that he was attracted the the woman. *the captain jabs him in the stomach* "stop staring and focus on the mission for all you know she could be married" whispered the captain.
"Sorry, sir."

The Astrosleuth, an Explorer Class ship cruised through T-Space.

“Captain, I am picking up chatter in the radio spectrum from Realspace.”

Captain Doyle looked up from the astronavigation reports he was reading using his Neurolink. “Play the message.”

The Comm Officer relayed the information through the holo-emitter and a view of the system in question appeared. A small window formed showing each craft along with several technical details the scanners picked up.

"This is the Vergri, battleship of the Theao navy. We must ask what your purpose is in visiting this system."

"Ummm..." he stammers "This is the colonial ship Aqua III. We have come to try to settle this planet, but I assume that it has already been taken."

"We would be interested in talking this over. If you are willing to talk, please send a shuttle carrying someone empowered to make executive decisions to the co-ordinates* enclosed in the transmission."

"We will come down, Aqua III out."

“Well, it seems things are finally working out without anyone trying to kill anyone else. We should stick around for a little bit to be sure.”

“Yes Sir.”

Several minutes later the Astronavigation computer signaled an anomaly alert. The AI quickly analyzed the data from the sensors.

“Captain, I have picked up a Hyperspacial Anomaly that appears to be artificial in origin. My Mass Detectors and Gravitational Sensors have picked up an object that emerged from the anomaly. The Energy Signature is consistent with some sort of active cloaking device. The Dimensional Sensor Array is picking the signature of Hyper-Emitted Ions indicating the object in question did originate from within the Hyperspace Rift I detected.”

“What is it doing?”

“It appears to be some sort of scout craft. I am not detecting any sign of organic life but it is relaying data somewhere. I am trying to get a fix on the destination of the transmission.”

“Keep an eye on it and trace that transmission. I want to know where they are sending that signal. One of those ships belongs to Theao. The other is obviously a colony ship like they said so it would be unarmed. I don’t like the feel of this. Relay the sensors through the Space Minus Transmitter so Command will know what is going on if anything happens. Keep the ship in T-Space so we are undetected.

“Yes Captain.”

The Terran Battlecruiser Stuttgart wsa cruising along with a small Squadron of Heavy Cruisers and Destroyers when it noticed a sudden peak in activity in an out of the way system. There ws no reason for anyone to be thre, and it was deemed right and proper to investigate whatever was going on...

The small group appeared in the system without any flashiness or fanfare, simply translating into realspace with a gravitic flash.

The Ship was part of a large Fleet that was Massing near the Borader of The Ten Systems Region. With General Chimaera, Morgukai Kight Rai'tri Bala'dor and Grand Admiral Mongo'ali Tam'ban'dor in charge of The Task Force that was to send a Message to the Fleets that were Massing in the Way System. The Kind of Message that turned Ships into Scrap.

already, Chimaera decided to send part of that message in the form of 78 X-wing Starfighters and 23 Misla'tor Class Torpedo Bombers to give the aliens a tase of what was to come.

We will remain in this system until this is all sorted out, because frankly I wouldn't trust you Garritrooper pieces of scheisse to handle a first contact situation with ANYTHING. We will remain here, and if you object too strenously, we just might have to do away with your presence here altogether...

We will not soil our boots by touching a world shared by these weaklings, if you wre to give us the coordinates to your homeworld we will send a delegation there.

The 40 ships of the Terran Battle Squadron were still moving into the system at nearly 600 Gees of acceleration, and would be able to engage the Theaoan vessels if they turned hostile.

The single massive Yamato Cannon on the Leviathan let loose with its powerful blast, and the Burst Laser batteries cut loose, HALO batteries and other missiles lashed space, all targeted on the single largest ship in the Theao group. The weak Theao ships would never survive a single diffuse broadside, much less the concentrated firepower that they had focused on a single ship.

In Space
As the TDoMM ships opened fire, the myrid and numerous defensive systems aboard the vessels activated. As the missiles slashed in, each was met by thousands of point-defense rounds, both of the laser and ballistic variety.

Meanwhile the ships slip apart, which made targetting them quite difficult as they refused to remain in one place. As the powerful blast slid by the Vergri the vessels returned fire, thought they were being peppered by lasers rounds, concentrating on the eight largest vessels. Each ship erupted in concentrated fire as plasma, as well as lasers, grav-cannon* rounds and missiles, both of the class one and three variety were launched.

The Vergri sent out a message into space as it's battlescreens destroyed a missile salvo..

ooc: Each of my ships is at least as defensively powerful as an ISD, and exponentially more manuverable.
Waterhelper, it is considered bad form to post other people's losses.
* Similar to a rail gun, but significantly faster.
Class one would destroy New York while class three would destroy Pluto. There is no way to destinguish which class a missile is from sensors.

2 ISDs suck defensively.

3 Grav-Cannon... Where have I heard that before??? Other than on my own ships, nowhere of course... Tell me, do you use Anti-Matter to accelerate small slugs to fractional C velocities with the aforementioned cannon?

4 I suggest we create a new thread for this battle so we don't clutter Waterhelpers thread.

IC:

Lasers lashed space on both sides, crumbling bulkheads and shattering armor, but that didn't last very long as the TD Squadron rolled ship onto their sides, presenting the impenetrable stress bands of their Gravitic Wedges towards the enemy, literally nothing could penetrate them. Their fire was forced to slacken to just missile batteries while they rolled, but once they dropped back to level on the other broadside, they unleashed their batteries again, setting out plasma gatlings, gatling lasers, HALO missiles, KEWs, Warp Torpedoes, capable of dragging large portions of the enemy into hyperspace when they detonated. All of their fire was still targeted on the lead enemy vessel, so their splitting up had only weakened their defenses, instead of making it more difficult to hit them.

OOC2: Almost forgot, you never actually had to deal with the impeller wedge before, did you? Well, I've got a tech thread somewhere. The fact that the enemy was soley tossing missiles presented a decreased threat, as none of the ships had left the maximum over lap of point-defences, PDs could handle a large numbers of missiles before being overwhelmed. The lasers and plasma rounds presented the largest threat as they had to be either avoided, difficult with the large number of weapon fire flying throught the cosmos, or dealt with by the shields.

As the Vergri had both the greatest defensive systems as well as being quite manuverable, the bombardment was having less of an effect than intended, thought the battlescreen operators were having problems predicting the OPP for the screens which meant the shields were taking any number of direct hits.

ooc: 1: When dealing with distances of at least 1 light-minute, and FTL sensors, manuverability is an issue/useful as heck.

2: Hence, the AT LEAST as defensive

3: You have heard of it in John Ringo's novels(As I know you draw some inspiration from some of the same sources I do) and no, I don't use AM as the method of propulsion for the slugs in my grav-cannons.

OOC:

1: We are currently at about 1.3 light minutes, 1.5 is the maximum range of my missiles. You have about 80 seconds to detect, acquire, lock, and destroy the missiles. Dodging is even orse, since you have only 80 seconds to kill your forward velocity, and then generate enough velocity on a different heading to avoid the shot. Plasma Gatlings fire at 6 shots per second, Gatling Lasers slightly slower, Yamato fire every minute or so, Burst Lasers fire every second. I think there's a Graser in there somewhere too, and if you read Honorvers, you know just how bad those are to screw with.

3: Yes. I'lll even let you meet Iron Mike a little later... Like in this post... I love Warp Recall Boarding Actions.

5: Sorry about that, I meant to change the title for that tech... It's the Variable Phase Gravitic Shielding.

For Warp Recall, think Trek Style Transporters, only without the whole "stopped by shields" issue, and with a swirling blue Gate as the physical manifestation, instead of a shiny blur.

IC:

Well, if the enemy could handle all of the fire from the squadron, directed on one enemy, then it was time to see how the dealt with a boarding action...

Deep withing the massive Leviathan, a squad of ACS TRoopers waited at the Warp Gate for the time to strike. Then the Gate opened, and a single squad of ACS from the Leviathans stepped through the Gate, and was swiftly deposited into the enemy command ship, or at least, the ship that they believed to be the enemy Flag... They would take the ship, and then turn it against its former masters, before Warping out again, to strike another ship.

The ships of the Battle Squadron were battered, but they were all still intact, a testament to their creators skill and their powerful armor. They lashed space with every weapon in the Terran and Protoss arsenals, Grasers, Lasers, Particle Disruption Cannon, Yamato Blasts, Missiles and Torpedoes of all stripes, Plasma, everything they had they concentrated on a single ship. Nothing could survibe thr fire of 40 opponents untouched for long.

Also CG, we do not recognize your claim on the 10 planets area because in the other thread TFU legally claimed them before you even got there. This is not a place to argue the point, but an IC reference to our opinion of your claims. If you want to discuss it please use the TG feature on the boards.

OOC: This fight will have a VERY quick ending if Theao dpesn't strt taking losses. Because 1 ship CANNOT avoid the fire of 40 other ships. Period.

This is the colony ship Aqua III. We are requesting assistance! We are in a battle between two factions and request help. Our hull plating is down to 10% and we need medical help. Any ship or fleet within range please help!

"Turn that off."
"Yes sir" The captain was mad that he couldn't help because if he id he would be destroyed along with the only thing remotely capable of defending the system of waterhelper.
"record the message then boost it it should give it extra range."
''Aye Captain." (It would be nice if a fleet got the message but hey no one has too) he watched as a few stray shots repeatedly hit the ship...

OOC: w007! An excuse to call in backup... You've already met the Terrans, now meet the Protoss... If you like, they can get you safely out of the cross fire...

IC:

A serise of Warp Tears riped open between the Aqua and the Theao Ships. They were there to interpose their shields and hulls between the flashing weapons and the colonists.

Transmission:

We are the Protoss, a second Race of the Terran Dominion. We can take you away from this battle until it is finished if you wish, or we can remain here as your shields.

Thankyou I want to be taken to the ship that is waiting on the outside of the system surrounded by a mine field. However out nation still prefers to end this peacefully if that is possible. We thank you for the assistance

The Theaoans have been courting this conflict for some time, we fear thgat until they are destroyed this will not end, as for your exit, please simply pass through the warp gate when it appears.

In front of the Waterhelper representative, a swirling blue nimbus formed, and a second nimbus formed on the Waterhelp[er ship that he had designated, all he had to do was step through and he would be taken safely to his destination.

The Empire of Balrogga told me he wanted to post this:
I was attempting to post on the war thread but Jolt seems to be dead. Here is the post I will make for a matter of record:

As soon as the conflict broke out, aboard The Astrosleuth many alarms began to ring.

“Captain, there are more ships entering from hyperspace and they are firing upon the Theao ships.”

“Dammit, I suppose I should have expected this. Nobody wants to do anything peacefully now days. Send for reinforcements. We are not equipped to stop battles.”

“Yes Sir.”

A few minutes later:

“Captain, Command has rerouted several ships that were traveling to the N’Glok system. They should be here soon.”

Suddenly another proximity alarm went off.

“Captain, more ships are appearing. They bear the same basic signature of that drone we detected earlier. They are coming in hot.”

“I knew they would be trouble. Send word to Command of the situation. Tell them we need some ships here sooner.”

“Yes Sir. They estimate Wormhole Transfer will occur within 9.5 minutes. The N’Glok ships will arrive in four minutes”

“Take us to Realspace within 1000 meters of the colony ship. Open a Comm channel.”

A few moments later, the 1000 meter Explorer Class vessel Emerged from T-Space about 1 Km away from the Waterhelper colony ship.

“Attention colony ship. We offer you protection of the Balrogga Empire. Your acceptance will not indebt you in any way. We will protect you until reinforcements arrive, which will be very soon. We will then guide you out of harms way using our shields.”

Attention Theao vessels, this is the Imperial Explorer Vessel, The Astrosleuth. We have called in a destroyer task force to help impose your jurisdiction upon your own system. We ask that all hostilities be ceased immediately.”

“Attention all hostile invaders, the Balrogga Empire has offered assistance to the Waterhelper vessel and to the Theao vessels. If they accept, firing upon them will constitute an act of aggression against The Empire. The Destroyer Task Force’s eminent arrival will secure the system against all hostile activities. If you do not wish to fight against us, cease all hostile activities and end this peacefully. You have 5 minutes to decide your fate.”

On Board the Vergri
The marines were teleported onto the Vergri, which was incidentally the one that the fourty ships were doing their darnest to destroy. As soon as they actually set foot on the craft, one of the AIDS activated and teleported the invading marines outward, not back to their ship of origin, but to the middle of the spatial battlefield which would leave them stranded unless they had propulsion units, and fairly long ranged ones at that.

In Space
Three of the corvettes, who'se shields had taken a beating, were ripped apart by fire that tracked across their hulls. Meanwhile the outer shields on the Vergri failed which would give an observant, and very skilled crew a chance to get a few hits in against the hull of the battleship.

The signal sent had reached the target and those that had been it's target had arrived. The AUX1 and AUX2 arrived, and rapidly moved into position taking up the other two points of a triangle around the TDoMM ships so they could pound them to bits if they continued the fight.

We would be glad for peace, thought at present we are busy defending ourselves from the attacks of the Terran Dominion of Mini Miehm

To: Astrosleuth
We thank you for the aid, and would be quite happy if hostilities ceased, but at present we are busy trying to avoid being destroyed by those that fired the first shot in this conflict.

ooc: I've been having a great deal of problem getting online, in the last few day, as well as when I have been able to get on, Jolt's been down 9/10 of the time.

ooc2: There's were we've been running into problems. We're opperating on different assumptions of range. You've been thinking 1.3 light minutes, I've been thinking around 30 light minutes.
Mini Miehm

OOC: Question, is this triangle arrange verticall, or horizontlly?

IC:

The fire from the enemy ships crippled one pof the destroyers, but it was still able to fight, if not move. They continued to pour their fire into the enemy, thousands of bolts of coherent light and energy lashed space with their fury, lasers, grasers, a massive Yamato Blast, plasma, and a different type of missile were all put into play. They had given up on the contact range warheads, now they switched over to standoff range laser warheads, that detonated at 30,000 kilometers, and sent stilettos of particle laser light into the enemy ships, capable of shattering bulkheads and crushing hulls withtheir energy.

The ACS were quickly recovered, and redeployed in a different manner. They had 72 hours worth of power, and they also had full vaccuum combat capability, and they were instead deployed to the hull of another enemy vessel in one of the newly emerging groups. They would use their powerful Gravguns and Terrawatt lasers to blow through the hull, and take the ship, whicjh would then be rammed into the nearest enemy, while they teleported away to repeat the process.

Message to all:
It seems to me other sides are misunderstanding each other you both want peace but think the other wont stop. We will be happy to mediate a settlement to this conflict at our home system while you set up embasies. If you agree to this we have one request that you only send one ship. We will wait about another hour before leaving to see if you will agree to a cease fire and negotate.

The range warheads were still well withing the range of the PDs of the ships, and were being lashed by the PDs like there was no tomorrow. As the enemy fired there massed barrage, the ships that were in the path of the onslaught decided to bend the rules, so to speak, and activated the TeDU engine to preform a slight slid to the outside of the AUX3 formation, letting the beams pass throught harmlessly, thought it did temporarily decrease the volume of fire from that direction, while AUX1 and AUX2 opened up on the ships that were threatening their breathren.

Open: All Participents
We are perfectly willing for a cease-fire to take place, as we aren't the ones who initated this conflict. That being said, if the TDoMM wish to take this to their death, so be it.

ooc: The triangle is 3-D, sort of like this http://psylux.psych.tu-dresden.de/i1/kaw/diverses%20Material/www.illusionworks.com/html/impossible_triangle.html

Also your ACS can travel over a a light minute on thrusters?

They were teleported out, they have tracking beacons, they can be teleported back just as easily.

As the marines were teleported to the hull of another vessel, they were returned to the middle of the battlefield again. The captain of the vessel they'd attempted to board, a cruiser incidentally, chuckled at the fact that if they kept trying that, soon the marines would never again be daddies or mommies as the defensive 'porter tended to do unpleasent things to the reproductives of those who managed survive the first out-bound 'port.

After the Mini Miehmers(Unsure of correct plural of name) had left, the Theao set to work dealing with the various items. They towed those ships too damaged, while those less damaged dealt with repairs theirselves.

Meanwhile the Vergri sent out a number of messages on coded channels.

After a period, a much larger ship of Theao than was seen at the battle appeared in the Waterhelper star system, and transmitted the message asking for landing co-ordinates as well as planetary conditions(atmospheric, temperature, tectonic ect.).

IC:

After four minutes a large wormhole sprung into existence and six ships emerged from the event horizon. Moments later the wormhole closed. The ships were in the center of the battlefield. Lucky the battle ceased a minute ago and nobody was shooting.

The Interceptor Class Destroyers quickly spun upon their axis looking for any hostile targets. A message was broadcast from the ships on all channels.

This is the 14th Battle Group. All ships are commanded to cease hostilities and join with the peace talks at the Waterhelper’s coordinates.

Several of the ships tracked the Cassiopeian vessels. The Astrosleuth joined the conference at the given coordinates.
