The Frozopians. A kind raised in the brutally cold mountains in an unforgiveable land. 1000's of years ago it consisted of 100's of Celtic tribe's, each fighting for their own place in the land. But none of them could lead. None had the power.
When the Roman's naval exploration arrived in Frozopia, their first move was to explore the country for valuable resources. Vicious tribes struck at the Roman's, and just as the Roman's prepared to fight their enemy was gone.
After weeks of this, Julius Ceasar ordered that the country to be abandonned.
But Ceasar had left his mark. A young Roman, arrogant and proud, stayed. He was Marcus Patricus Maurellius. He knew there was iron in the hills, and in the south there was land that had potential for farming.
With barely 500 men he set about gathering allies among the celtic tribes, bribing their leaders with promises of land and gold , binding them together so that they could fight along side the Romans.
Eventually Marcus was building his own Roman cohort irregulars out of the tribes, more disciplined troops to extend his power. By the end of his life Marcus possesed the southern half of Frozopia, which was 90% of the countries arable lands.
At his fathers death Julius took up his fathers sword, and began to push the Roman Frozopia further and further, till all the remaining tribes had no choice but to bow to the Roman or suffer starvation. Frozopia was completly Roman by the end, paying taxes to the senate and eventually the Ceasar's. But few Roman's would migrate to the land. There was little wealth to be had in such a cruel environment.
After 200 years of Roman rule, the last Roman leader died without a son. Instead he delegated a celt to rule the land, and thus was the beginnings of a nobility and eventually a Royal family.
Eventually ruling the country fell into the hands of King Clauro. Frozopia was a pagan land still, where Christians and Muslims alike were persecuted with brutal hatred. Ruled by Royalty, its people where victims to the whims of their lords. Very few commoners many any wealth. Instead they made up the armies of Frozopia. They were the farmers, the manual workers, anything that was considered 'below' the noble classes. They were no better than cattle.
King Clauro
Like all who proceeded him, he dreamed of a richer land to call home. Somewhere far away from the frozen island, where the sun shine and the people happy. And he would fight for it.
The Frozopians prepared a fleet, a humongous fleet set to invade the largest of nations. First it would be raids, then it might be small sections of land taken but eventually it would be a brutal destruction of the enemy complete.
Now all they needed was a destination.
