Subject: Meeting

The State of Amestria feels that in light of our increased cooperation over such issues as Torontia that there is a need for dialogue between our two powers at the highest level. The Amestrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to dispatch a delegation to meet with the Mckagan Political and Military leadership in Mckagan City. The Amestrian delegation will be led by Lieutenant General Flora Tristan. We ask that the meeting, while not secret, be as discreet as possible.

Mckagan City,
Mckagan City International Airport

The Amestrian delegation stepped out of the closed terminal. It was a dark and rainy night, which reminded the many members of the delegation of winter nights in Northern Coastal Amestria. The North Sea and North Atlantic storms that would come down upon Amestria’s Northern Coast line made Mckagan’s weather seem mild by comparison.

Lieutenant General Flora Tristan was a woman of fairly average height. Her features were typical North Amestrian, right down to her short black hair. The General had what would be judged a chubby but cute face. Her blue dress uniform was obscured by the field raincoat she wore. She carried a briefcase.

The IMA Operated Limo service quickly pulled a limo near to the terminal out of its storage area and prepared it to move the Amestria delegation to the McKagan State Departments Operational HQ, in downtown McKagan City. This area was always heavily guarded by a variety of scanners, and was now under lockdown. It wasn't as if a strike on McKagan City would actually do damange. Under the city was a nearly-nuclear proof bunker system where the senate "really" was, and the President was almost never there.

Regardless, a group of the MSD's staff prepared to meet with the Amestrians.

General Tristan stepped forward to greet the MSD's staff and extended her hand. "Hallo, wonderful weather we are having…”

Chelsea Spietz, the MSD's corrospondent to anything relating to the Torontian situation, walked forward.

"It always rains here." She said quiet simply.

"This way." she motioned for them to enter the car.

Ten minutes later the staff had been installed in the meeting chamber at the state department HQ.

"What does Amestria wish to gain from these talks?" she said in an objective voice.

“Clarity and resolution!” General Tristan placed her briefcase on the table and began removing various papers. Her secretary began to prepare for note taking and dictation.

“Let’s start out by being honest. Your Intelligence Services orchestrated riots in BC and supplied the TPLA with weapons. Your government also encouraged your nation’s domestic and international media to attack Amestria and Amestria’s position in Torontia. We have moved past those unfortunate instances of indirect conflict, but we would like your government Ms. Spietz to privately admit its involvement. Let us get all this bad blood out of the way.”

General Tristan took another sip of water and waited for the Spietz's answer. I hope this awkward silence does not continue.

[OOC: I am SO sorry I forgot about this. It wasn't even so much that I did. I just never got around to it because I suddenly started watching like 11 other threads.]

Ms. Spietz knew what the MCID had did to boost McKagan influence, both covertly AND overtly. Could she admit to that? No. She couldn't and wouldn't admit that McKagan had did this. She was, however, glad that the Amestrian had given her the chance to put the General on the defense.

"I'd really hope you aren't implying that McKagan doesn't have free media. SRN, or any other news agency, has freedom to report what it wants. The various news agencys that occupy McKagan collect a vast number of personalities, some of which you are probably very... fond, or not, of. Whatever happened to a media that doesn't need money to print the TRUTH? Most nations in the world are already subcounciously used to this, but McKagan isn't like that. The McKagan Government does NOT operate with the media, and will not admit to doing so."

Ms. Spietz took a sip of her tea, held it for a moment, thought, but before allowing the Amestrian General and immediate response, began to talk to her other point.

"I and also upset that you and your government have, multiple times, accused us of helping the TPLA. I have been briefed on every objective, mission, and operation that has taken place inside of Torontia. In all my notes, across almost 20 hours of briefings, there is no record of a McKagan sponsored terrorist wing. What makes you think that there is? I can understand why you might think so in certain cases, but I don't understand what caused such a accusation. The only times the Cabinet discussed this was during a few brief meetings on other various subjects. A few... personalities, have suggested that this is merely an attempt at political retribution. So here's what I suggest. A joint Amestrian-McKagan committee is to be formed on the subject at hand. We will keep its existance secret. McKagan will be treated as the defendant in this matter, and is innocent until proven guilty. If you can prove, within no mention of doubt, that McKagan supplied the rebels, then we will admit to it. Otherwise you will admit publically that you no longer believe McKagan supplied the TPLA."

The General did not seem to care about Ms. Spietz's denials. "We know your MCID was involved... This reminds me of a funny story. There was once a fish shop in Greenland owned by Gregory Thomis, an Amestrian from the Lior region. One day a traveler stopped by to ask for directions. When he entered, he saw several men dressed in parkas. They were surveyors from Denmark..."

"Sir," said the traveler to Mr. Thomis, "can you point the way to Nuuk."

"If you want some fish we don't have any," replied an impatient Mr. Thomis. "The damn Eskimos ate it all."

The leader of the Danes replied, "We are not Eskimos."

"Shut up you damn Eskimos!"

"We are not Eskimos and we would like some more fish."

"We don't have anymore damn fish because you Eskimos ate it all!"

"We are not Eskimos."

"Sir," the traveler desperately interjected. "I need to get to Nuuk but I am lost and..."

"I already told you that there is no more fish because the damn Eskimos ate it all!"

"We are not Eskimos and we want more fish."

"THERE IS NO MORE FISH BECAUSE YOU ESKIMOS ATE IT ALL!"

The General did not seem to care about Ms. Spietz's denials. "We know your MCID was involved..."

Ms. Spietz looked at the Amestrian in a very odd way.

"Well, it wasn't, and until you provide proof of such actions, we're not going to take that seriously and won't base any negotiations around it."
