The rise of an Empire; an account of history by Ex-General C.

Chapter I
In the Beginning.

Medio 2000 (We can alter recent history, right?) it all started. The government was receiving a growing amount of critique for it's indecisiveness, and it's inability to act properly when needed. It wasn't long before secret organisations started to rebel against it, but because of their neclegtible size and influence they were ignored. This was their first mistake, two more mistakes would follow, and eventually lead to their undoing. Within 6 months from then, a lot would happen.

The next major happening was the rising of The Hive, another organisation intent on overthrowing the government. At the head of The Hive was a single man, the man that was later known as 'He who changed the world' to the public, and the single person that would rule the country a year later, although none of them knew that yet.

Like all other organisations, The Hive was ignored by the government, thought to be just another group of attention-seeking protestants. They also did nothing to stop it's growing influence under the other rebellions, slowly organizing them all in secret. That was their second mistake.

Because of this, it only took The Hive three months to get all of them behind them, still under control of the leader of The Hive. With this force, making up something between a third and half of the country, it would have been an easy task to overthrow the present government by force, but they didn't. For they did not desire a civil war, as that wouldn't help them reach their final goal. A goal of which only a selected few know, and which was a great secret to all others. To overthrow the government without a war, they would need one other thing - the army.

That last thing might sound counter-intuitive, needing the army to do something in a peaceful matter, but it was actually quite ingenious. When they approached us, we were hesistant at first, and contacted the Government. They chose to ignore our requests, and that was their final mistake. We joined The Hive, and with that provided the last part of their schemes. With us behind them, they could convince the Government that they had lost all power in the country, and that it would be best for them to pack up and leave right now. They weren't killed or harmed in anyway, just told to get out of the country as fast as they could. This was the end of the Democracy, and now the Unification of everyone into The Hive would start...

Chapter II
The Unification.

With the former Government out of the way, The Hive had gained full control of the country. The date was the 5th of August 2001, a date we will never forget. Drastic changes were coming, so drastic some didn't even believe it was for real. The Hive wanted an Unification in the country, and although they denied it, would crush everyone who wouldn't agree with them.

The first step to this new order, was to make all persons equal. No longer would there be any kind of difference between gender, skin colour, or any other physical points. This step was chosen to be the first, as most of the persons in the country would like it, and The Hive would gain their trust. This was a succesful move, and so they managed to make the other steps happen without finding much resistance.

Next came the banning of religions and political believes. This was a major blow to religious and political organisations, but the influence of The Hive had gotten too deep by now, and nothing could be done to stop it anymore. Churches and the like were all demolished, and their members 'brainwashed' into followers of The Hive. By now some were understanding what was happening and resisted, but most persons didn't mind or didn't understand what was going on, and almost the whole of the population was under the influence of The Hive by now.

Now there was no more opposition left, The Hive started reforming the country itself. Entire blocks were wiped out, to make room for towering buildings, commonly referred to as "Anthills" by the public, because the similarities in structure and functions. Around a central spire, in which thousands of people could live in totally identical 'houses' many areas of
industrial, agricultural, and scientific were formed. As it was five years before this was complete, and the brainwashing propaganda had only grown in strength, nobody resisted anymore, and The Hive's task was finished. All of the country now functioned like a colony of ants, each member putting the needs of the collective above the needs of him- or herself.

It looked as if The Hive had fulfilled it's self-imposed task by unifying the country, but it hadn't reached all it's goals yet. There was still the final goal that had remained a secret to almost everyone, a goal that would soon be revealed...

Chapter III
The Hive's true nature.

As the country was theirs, the leaders of the Hive put their final plan into motion. With over a Billion people now under their control, they decided this was still not enough, and that they wanted more of the world. Most of the 'anthills' could supply a good number of troops, and with the overall productiveness of one, supplies and technology wouldn't become a problem
ither. The only problem where ofcourse the other countries, and especially their armies.

Therefor it was decided a full-out war wasn't an option, but that the other countries would be left to weaken eachother at first, while The Hive would spread it's political tentacles through as many systems as it could, readying itself to strike when none of the other countries expected it.

How this scheme will work out in the end, nobody knows, I can only hope I am alive by then to find out and have it recorded here...

Country: The Netherlands

-Population: Approximately 1 Billion (So I don't have to alter this each day.)

-(Simplified) Governmental Structure:
1) The Lord of the Hive(Me!) + two 'advisors'
2) 12 'Minds', each responsible for having The Lord's orders followed in a particular Province.
3) The workers, the population of the country.

Military Organization:
1 Billion Population -> 20 Million Military -> 18 Million Logistics -> 2 Million "Troops"

The Hive Army(2 Million)
Divided into three parts:
-Ground Troops(*1)
-Naval Troops(*2)
-Airforce(*3)

The Ground Troops(800.000)
-Divided over eight provinces(100.000 in each)
-3 Provinces are 'Infantry', making 12 Corpses(25.000 each)
-Each Corpse makes up 5 Divisions(5.000 each)
-A Division makes 5 Companies(1.000 each)
-Companies consist of 20 Platoons(50 each)
-And finally a Platoon consists of 5 Squads(10 Each(8'normal' rifles, 2 'special' weapons))
-The other 5 Provinces become Armoured Companies
