The OPLP stages another protest in Jerusalem, this time using civil disobedience. Almost 8,000 young Palestinian college and high school students march down the cities main throughfare, blocking traffic. Arms linked, they sing one of the old protest songs: "We shall overcome." One clambers onto a Bus Stop shelter with a bullhorn and makes a speech about using peaceful methods to attain independence. The crowd starts chanting "Social justice for Palestine!" in several different languages.
