[OOC: As the old In Defense of Amestria thread was cluttered up with posts concerning an OOC argument, since resolved, I have created this thread. This concerns the current state/readiness of Amestria's defenses. Amestria has ended the alert on its nuclear arsenal. As it was established, the Commonwealth of Saint Fedski did not go to a war footing as every nation had to RP its own actions and the post lacked details.
Current State of Amestria's Defenses
The Airforce and Navy have been placed on Elevated Alert. 6,000 Fighter Aircraft and 6,000 Strike Aircraft are prepared for preemptive defensive action.
The Amestrian Nuclear Arsenal and Arsenal of Conventional Strategic Weaponry are currently not on alert. Secret: They can be placed back on Elevated Alert with one phone call.
The Amestrian Air Defense System has been placed on Elevated Alert.
Four Million reserves have been called up, bring Amestria's total Military manpower at home to 14 million troops.
Two million troops have been dispatched to Amestria’s coastal areas and have begun to set up coastal defenses and artillery.
The President, High Level Ministerial Officials, and the Military Central Command have been relocated to the Continuation of Government Facilities under the Central Amestrian Mountains.
The Continuation of Government Facility: A series of Bunker complexes under the Central Amestrian Mountains able to accommodate well over 20,000 people. It is impervious to aerial bombardment or a nuclear attack. The Continuation Facility is connected by landlines to every Military and Important Civil Facility in Amestria. It is designed to be the Governments center of operations during wartime.
