Alright, I said I'd give background.

The Imperial order of things is a heavy handed, aristocrat centred government, with a large space oriented military, where, more often than not, political and blood ties earn you ranking more than actual achievement and experience.

Not only this, but the poverty stricken regions on any of the three planets of Kasim are heavily oppressed, and this just enforces the status quo. The tax is minor, but the Aristocrats enforce their own taxes, which often sap all but a mediocre amount of money from those upon the line.

Obviously, this needs an upheaval - and the rebllion was formed to achieve a democratic union. One of the planets has ceded AI control from any Imperial sources, and has succeeded in mounting an anti-imperial offensive, driving the aristocracy into orbit, or death. This planet - Soter - has been waiting for the Imperial battlefleet to arrive.

The Imperials have a large battlefleet that can, if it manages to get past the orbiting defenses of the planet, bombard it into the dark ages. However, they have a limited groundtroop contingent, and obviously, will use guirella (sp?) tactics if possible.

The Planet has a very weak planetary defense grid, other than the orbital defenses, but very little anti-infantry weaponry or support, however they have a majority of the population who would gladly watch the Aristocracy jump into the nearest sun.

The two Representatives are:

Admiral Hector Graves, in charge of the Imperial Battle Fleet now attempting an incursion. He has a fleet of forty ships, ranging from the two Darwin class battlecruisers to corvettes and support vessels, and a small invasion force, numbering at most, three thousand. His Battlecruisers took out the planetary anti-capital ship defense posts.

An Aristocratic high roller. Psychologically he is a rigid officer of the Imperium, and he is not about to let these upstarts ruin his rise to power. He is determined to put down the Rebellion at any cost. He's an arrogant bastard, and won't hesitate to put his forces to the fore if he belives he will profit.

Alexander Geoffords, leader of the planetary rebellion, commanding the AI and city defenses, as well as a home-grown military. Jeeps, tanks, some air superiority fighters, bombers, and platforms. A good 60 percent of the able population on Soter are with him. Although not all have the same professional ability that the invaders do.

He is an ex-Captain who retired from service to settle back home on Soter, but was quickly recruited by the Rebellion, because of his tactical prowess. The reasons behind his retirement are somewhat clouded, but evidence points to disgrace by an Aristocrat officer of his, with ambitions. He was publically disgraced and retired. He has no real hate of the Imperium, but would gladly see a democratic government in place instead. He just wants to keep his homeworld safe.

The sides you take, the impact you make, will decide the future of this nation.

Play well.

Imperial side:
Imperial Battlefleet - Kasim
Sons of Darius - Nili
Aust Exploration Force - Aust
Federation of Amazonian Beasts Taskforce - Amazonian Beasts.

Rebellion:
Soter's Freedom - Kasim
The Principality of Nuekallaya - Nuekallaya

OOC: Kasim Sul Nahr, Sorry for this totally unrealted ooc but, You were in my Blood in the Streets thread and I reacted to your nation's "red cross hospital ship" the X.R.I.C. agents are ready to begin inspection...

I think the Autocratic Triumvirate is currently too busy to broker any help to the imperialists. Though I've been itching to use the Sons of Darius(See bottom of factbook in sig) and will probably join the imperial side in a short amount of time using them.

In the mean time heres a link to help get your planets settled if they happen to be in the milky way galaxy: http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=457052

Gotcha.
Empryia
02-01-2006, 12:13
Empryia, at this time, cannot guarantee entry into this conflict on either side. However, the 5th Donegal RCT has been deployed to the area, with two scout cruisers and a few other warships to watch the events unfold.

Beware Empryia, the Imperium of Kasim Sul Nahr will not suffer official counter productive involvement by your forces in this war.

(OOC: The Aristocracy are stuck up, sorry about that.)

I'll move in on any role that supports the Imperial cause, seeing as Aust is a Imperial force.

Have you read the tactical post carefully? The orbital defenses around Soter are massive, and are currently engaging the Imperial Battlefleet with Zeal. But the political climate is a lot more like an aristocracy than an empire - there is no real central power figure, just powerplays by rich, and richer consortiums vying for power over the entire imperium. They care not for their subjects, they want nothing more than to ensure their reign.

I read it, and I understaned the situation, Aust is a very aristocrical nation, and all my captains/admirals are Lords/Knights/Dukes. Indeed the best way to think of the Austian army is as the British army in 1800, a very tough lower basic trooper, but the highest a ordanary Austian who joins can expect to rise is sargent, unless they carry out a act of incredable bravery or come into money they will not gain promotion.

In the officer class you can pay your way to the tops (Ensigns post, 100HP, Lutenants post 200HP, Majors post 2000HP ect.) or through dead mans shoes, presuming th vacency isn't snapped up by an aristocrat. Thus the commander of the armed forces is the Emporer, The Fleet his Sister and the airforce his Brother. In aust unless y0ou have noble birth or incradably rich you are knackered.

Aust would naturally talke a imperial side. This is what i propose.

Aust is a new space nbation, it has only just begun to expand outside Solarus Terrius, (It's home solar system) and has done so to try and expand it's sempire, so far having claimed 5 nearby unclaimed systems and several nearby planets. It's now expanding in massive fleets. However despite the technical advances it's been able to build (Faster than light travel, sheilds, weak lasers.) it's still very primitive, our fighters are heavy and slow though heavly sheilded to make up for the lack of strngth and my ships main weapons are Nuclear missiles.

My diea is that one of my expladitionary fleets stumbles upon your Sstystema dn tries to make contact,. From there I have no diea what will happen, desends how you respond. We may be natural allies to your Imperial forces but if the Emproer sees political advantage in siding with the rebles (Or they can pursuade him too) he will help them. I will start of nutural.

Oh trust me, the Imperium left Earth years ago, and it really really is a handful. Railguns are standard kinetics. Lasers are anti-munitions and somewhat anti-ship, as well as Contra-Terrene Devices as last resort.

Anyway.

Welcome to the club.

Bump for Democracy
Talaax
03-01-2006, 17:20
Upon hearing of the plight of the people of Kasim and their struggle for freedom, the Talaaxian government, recently borne from violent revolution itself, made the decision to aid the rebellion. A message from the Presidential Office was sent off to the purported rebel headquarters.

Kasim Rebels. RE: Support

Democracy is one of the truly great freedoms in life. A freedom all people should have. A freedom the Yuuzhan Vong people have fought and died for in the past. Our democracy may be fledgling but our fleet is mighty. Rest assured, brothers, that you have the support of that fleet. The Yuuzhan Vong people will aid you in any way we can. Simply give us the word and we will send aid to wherever it is needed.

From the Office of President Shoon-mi Esh, Yuuzhan Vong Republic

I wish to be a supporter of the Imperial causes to fight against the insurrection.

My nation is still a developing power, as well developing in the space age. We are strong in laser and energy weapons but weak in projectiles, comprising of warheads scattering negatively-charged particles, weaker than nuclear weapons. We use armor to prevent against weapons but primarily use clouds of charged particles to dissipate energy weapons and chaff and rockets to intercept projectiles. We use a lot of fighter support and some capital ships. A lot of AI goes into the ships for a minimum of human interference. As a result capital ships are lightly populated.

IC: The Federation of Amazonian Beasts vouches its support for the Kasim government in this time of insurrection. We will send avaliable space and ground navies to assist you in your fight to quell the uprising.

The Pricipality of Nuekallaya would like to join with the rebels, Nuekallaya is opposed to the kind of corrupt, oppresive, government seen in this empire... besides, Nuekallaya's new, we want some more space of our own!

[OOC: The tech I use is based on Starship Troopers, the infintry are right out of the book, only with less nukes, and the fleet mostly is based on the TV show. Nuekallayan ships are small but fast and agile, they use powerful missils and energy weapons to engage enemies at long range.]

What does this weapon do exactly?
Kasim Sul Nahr
09-01-2006, 14:23
CTD - Contra Terrene Device. A quaint term for a weapon normally associated with 'megadeath', 'gigadeath', and 'Oh shit!'.

They're Runcible devices. An Unshielded Runcible Device.

It turns on, and accelerates any matter within a good five kilometre radius to many times lightspeed - in an Einstein-ruled world. Guess the outcome.

Anyway, to use a CTD on a populated world is the height of treason.
