Antanjyl's Triumph against Terrorism

Antanjyl
02-01-2006, 08:16
Antalia Palace: 1200 hours

The black iron city of Antalia was buzzing with activity as hundreds of able-bodied men and women from the surrounding cities seemed to flock there like swarms of ants. Dressed in rags, robes, and other filthy peasant garments, most did not own vehicles, and those who did could not afford to drive them from city to city due to fuel costs. As the crowds made their way to the city, roughly at an elevation of 10,000 feet in the mountains, they all scurried to the city's square, where hundreds of large stakes were placed...

~~~~~~~~~
As the crowds swarmed around to witness the coming event, a dark haired military figure stood forward, numerous scars lining his face as he walked over to a microphone. Each step seemed to send a ripple through his long black coat, revealing the AK-108 hanging from a series of straps...
"Glorious people of Antanjyl and follows of the God Emperor Galf! For long have we suffered... But never again!!!"
The man shouted passionately over the crowds of people as he momentarily brushed his hair back. Seconds later he raised a hand as a large number of white robed men and women were forced forward onto a large elevated platform, on either side seperated by large stakes sticking in the grown, some of which were a blackened iron, though most were wooden.
"This suffering has finally ended with the help of Antanjyl's agents! While looking for these terrorists who were handing out vicious propaganda against our beloved Emperor, we managed to gather information on a large cluster of these perverse individuals..." His voice suddenly went silent as the crowd started shouting obsenities at the white robed people, some going so far as to begin pelting rocks, "No no good citizens... Do not hold your breath on this disgusting filth... For today, the emperor himself has personally declared the mass execution of all of these terrorists! Death to the religious fanatics!"
"Praise Galf! Death to the Fanatics!!! Down with the Christian Terrorists!" These phrases and more were all shouted by the people as the cheered, momentarily glancing at the large black palace in the city's backdrop.
As the first of the christian terrorists was launched forward onto the bed of strikes, the crowd suddenly went wild, screaming enthusiastically as more and more of them fell to the large rows of stakes. The form of execution would make sure that they spent hours, or even days still alive for the majority. The few immediately killed were an extreme minority, since those tossing them on the stakes were experts at impalement... By the end of the day out of the 674 executed, only 45 died within an hour of being impaled.
~~~~~~
Later at the Palace...

"Emperor Galf, are you sure you wanted to miss the execution? It went pretty well. The masses were shouting your name for the entire day, a few citizens were even trampled..."

"Ah well... There will always be more executions." The emperor remarked in an entirely dark voice as he sat back in a throne over looking long rows of staked individuals, "So how are their children faring?"

"They have already been turned over to the government. They will make fine soldiers after the reprogramming is done. What about the international community, are you sure this won't cause an outrage?"

"Hah... Like those bleeding hearts would give a rat's ass about those morons... They should reward me for doing the world so much good..." He said, crafting a fanged smile as his claw tapped against a nearby table, "Now all we need to do is find the rest of those fanatics..."

The Government of Kahanistan is officially atheist, but still condemns the wanton and sadistic acts of brutality against the Christian population of Antanjyl for the mere actions of disseminating their religious literature.

We urge that in the future the Government of Antanjyl expel all Christians to the Democratic Soviet Republic of Kahanistan, where their religious beliefs will be tolerated by the government.

While our preferred method of execution may seem brutal, it is also steeped in tradition, dating back to the founding our of nation and can not just go away. The punishment of impalement has always been in use in Antanjyl, and if those terrorists hadn't attempted to subvert the populace, they never would have received that punishment, which could have been quite harsher might I add.

Though I myself may have pulled the trigger a bit quickly, it was only because of growing dissention among the growing Christian chafe of my great nation. They have long attempted to harm our soldiers, and only recently set fire to a brothel within the capital city! Surely violent-mongers such as these had it coming. If any of the Christians wish to leave Antanjyl, they can either march out in droves immediately or leave this mortal coil all together. I will not fund such an exodus, especially when anti-social scum such as these are involved.

I thank you for your interest, and will remind you that nobody over the age of fourteen has been impaled in the last seven years. So the lives of those who don't know any better may be fixed and maintained by Antanjyl's government. Praise be to your nation, and her glorious peoples.

The Government of Kahanistan will fund this exodus. We have mobilized a fleet of 50 Wasp-class transport vessels, and 10 Arleigh Burke-class AEGIS destroyers as an escort to protect the fleet on its trip.

We request that all sentences of impalement be suspended while our fleet arrives to remove an estimated one million Christians per sortie. We estimate that the fleet will take five days to reach Antanjyl after it departs tomorrow.

Your request is acceptable, as long as none of the christians cause any overt harm to the people of Antanjyl. If any of them try anything, their punishments will be swift and delt with personally by my police force. Though I will make sure that the method of execution merits what they attempted to do, at least for now.

All Christians discovered by my Agents will be rounded up to our only functional port of Kinshash. To make sure that your ships reach the icy port without any mishaps I will send forth a few cruisers to guide you there. I would appreciate it however if no foreigners disrupt the lives of the people there. All supplies that you deem necessary can be shipped to your craft. In the end though, I highly doubt there are that many Christians in all of Antanjyl, since that type of thing is usually stamped out in the schools early. Any we do find however will be sent to the port, where they will be stationed in a camp away from the rest of the populace. You may pick them up from there.

May you have a safe voyage to our glorious nation.

The Government of Kahanistan finds this offer acceptable, and is most pleased that millions of lives could be saved by the pen rather than by the sword.

The fleet should arrive on January 8, 2006. It is carrying supplies, and the refugees will be severely cramped, but only for a few days and that is because we could not spare as many ships as we would like due to involvement in military conflicts around the globe.

The only citizens of our nation to even set foot on shore will be a few military police escorting the Christians and followers of other religions persecuted by the Government of Antanjyl aboard our landing craft to be taken to our ships.

Should all go well, the first refugees will arrive on our soil on January 13.

As of Deus 13th all religions considered persecuted by myself will be sent to the camp at Kinshash. Therefore you will also be receiving the few Hebrew and Muslim people found in our country as well. Though we will still focus most of our resources on finding the Christians, seeing as they seem to be the primary problem.

Your guards can come ashore, but due to the conditions in Kinshash that they may prefer not to spend too much time sticking around. It is for their and my people's safety that I say this, since most of Kinshash is still what some people would say a slum. My agents will be around to assist you with bringing the chafe onboard your ships.

Hearing of the military conflicts you are involved in, it is customary for me to wish for the swift and brutal demise of your enemies.

While we do not condone the actions of obvious terrorists, we also do not condone the obvious genocide of of religious groups. We are pleased to see your willingness to negotiate for the lives of these Christians and other religious members, but at the same time mourn those who have been martyred at your regime's tactics. The Confederacy of Sniper Country, while no religion is governmentally endorsed, is by majority Christian. If we do find that any type of torture, or execution of Christians (or other religion, for that matter) is executed without finding proper evidence of actual terrorist acts done by the individual(s), the Confederacy of Sniper Country will not hesitate to proceed to intervene, if neccesary, by force.

Sending those mentioned above into exile, as such, to Kahanistan, is acceptable by us. However, as said, do not exceed in your actions what you and your nation cannot handle.

Galf stared at his reflection in the mirror as a harsh smile flashed over his face, reflected in the red depths of his eyes. He was deeply torn inside of him, since without the weekly executions in Antalia he would no doubt quickly grow bored. Not to mention the fact that such a thing would in time stir Asmodee and Demundza...

"I suppose soon it will be time to begin another war..." He said with a hiss as he stared at his reflection, slowly bringing a clawed hand forward as he scratched across the glass, "That should keep everyone happy..."

~~~~~~
All over the frozen, heavily mountainous country of Antanjyl soldiers were quickly winding busses through cities. As they did so, squads of agents quickly broke into houses of suspected Christians in the middle of the night and, upon finding enough evidence, dragged them into the large convoys of busses, which would put them all aboard trains headed for the North port of Kinshash.
Thanks to a complete lack of public media however, none of these things were seen by most of the international community, and many of the Agents used their time to quickly murder suspected enemies of the Emperor that they could not convict any other way. By the end of the week everyone suspected an estimated six to seven million religious chafe. In the end there was almost twice that, at an impressive twelve million people hoarded into the camps, many families dispersed by the quick move and forced to search for eachother by foot.
All was going to plan in the smog-filled, slum-choked city of Kinshash.
Those executed at the holiday were all confirmed members of a terrorist organization known as "The Sons of Christ", which have long caused trouble to out government. Might we also inform your people that no child under the age of fourteen was among those executed, so they can stop worrying about things like that. Though any Christians who did not take the opportunity to leave immediately will continue to fact the consequences.
As for your threats, I am confident that no word of any torture of any non-terrorist christians will ever reach you. As for executions, almost all information on anyone executed are wiped clean completely a week or so after they are killed, barring those necessary for further convictions of criminals.
If things were to go my way, they would all have been removed from Antanjyl long ago. Though for over a century they have come here, and after setting roots in Antanjyl's soil, it has grown bothersome to try to uproot all of them. Thus, the only thing I am able to do it prune the ones that grow out of hand. In a way, I could say that nations are a bit like gardens, which require constant pruning to keep the whole healthy and safe. Though certain weeds will almost always be there, even if you think you've rooted out all of them, though with the right deterent...
Ah, I prattle on and on. I would allow an internal investigation of Antanjyl, but I wouldn't want any of our national secrets leaked. If you have any leads into possible documented evidence of those things of which you speak of I will be glad to have a few of my advisors look into it.
[Well it may be isolationist, but its still pretty huge. I suppose you could always hear stories from the Christians that make it out of the country. Though of course you will need to get them from Kahanistan. They would obviously speak of things happening. Though none of it can be confirmed. Ah, if only there were more forward thinking nations such as yourself around this incident might have been averted completely. It truly sickens me that terrorists who hide behind things such as a religion like Christianity manage to find any support from the international community simply because they share a simple belief system.
Despite the fact that being impaled usually keeps the accused alive for a few hours, if not days untill they starve to death, there are far worse ways to die. Though of course none of them contain the cultural signifiance of impalement, so for now I think we will stick with that practice.
Establishing an alliance with a nation such as yourself would be quite an entertaining idea. We shall keep watch and see how things develop in the future.
0300 Hours, AVERIA SETTLEMENT
The town was a simple looking place, with white picket fences and a rather suburban feel to it. It was easy to spot that there was something up at this settlement, which bordered Antanjyl's far Eastern border. Nestled in a valley in the mountains, this picturesque town had managed to finally garner the attention of the distant government of Antanjyl, thanks to its creative use of gathering information from Christian prisoners. Beyond the notice of this small town, the Agency was on its way to launch an attack...
-----------------------
"Dear God, please bless this house and all of its inhabitants." An aged man whispered as he prayed at the side of his bed, staring out the window, as if trying to garner strength, "...And may Galf's troops never discover this place..."
"Get to bed dear."
"Alright hun."
Unlike the Christians living in hiding within the rest of Antanjyl, who were quickly found out and forced onto trains headed for the coastline, and those being the lucky ones who didn't try to resist, quite a bit of the outskirts of Antanjyl was still dotted by settlements which did not follow lord Galf or his methods. By no means a majority, these people would sooner fight and die for their land than lose everything and be evicted from their place of birth. This town of roughly 23,000 people would be the first to fall before the might of the Agency...
"Night..." He murmured under his breath as he leaned over to give his wife a kiss on the cheek, but was quickly interupted by the sounds of heavy vehicles moving down the street, "Huh?"
"Doug, do you think its-!"
"Shush, I'll go and check!"
-----------------------
By the time the first group of people had woken up, a large contingent of roughly 10 APCs were in the town square, along with a few busses. All of these were swarming with soldiers from the Agency, at least 30 of whom were standing outside with their AK-109s drawn. As soon as a large enough group of citizens appeared, the leader of this group of Antanjyl's Agency emerged, a man well into his 30s with a dour look on his face...
"Rabble of Averia!" He shouted over the sound of the vehicles, "This town has been convicted as a haven for terrorists. We order all of you to evacuate your homes at once and return to Antalia for questioning! I am Officer Gaul, do as I say and none of you will be harmed!"
"You can't do this! We've done nothing wrong!" One of the Christians shouted back, suddenly there was an explosion deeper within the city, "The church!"
"But the priest lives there! Why are you doing this?!" A woman managed to shout over the screams of voices of everyone else.
"You know why we're doing this, heretics! You've been hiding in Antanjyl for long enough! This is your last warning! Line up now or I'll order my men to open fire!"
"We won't stand for-" One of the citizens began to shout as he took a step forward, but was quickly fell back as a gunshot from the Agency took off the majority of his head, sending a splash of gore flying into the frightened crowd.
What happened next was a surprise to everyone, as gunshot from one of the buildings was quickly fired, taking out the head officer from the Agency in a clean shot to the neck. For a split-second, everyone in the square grew silent, shocked as the man fell back onto the frost covered grass.
"They have weapons! Open fire!!!" Came the immediate order from one of the other officers as he pulled his AK-109 forward and opened fire on full auto.
In seconds every member of the Agency had gotten into posisition and began firing, as well as the APCs. The shots continued from somewhere well after the last of the civilians laid dead in front of them, well over fifty civilians clogging the road, and countless more injured. On the Agency's side, the casualties were already seven men, an unacceptable loss for the government of Antanjyl.
"Hello, HQ, this is Agent Garmond... We are being attacked. I'm requesting an immediate bombing in retaliation. Also, could you seen some reinforcements?" A young man said calmly as he ducked between an APC and a bus, "Yes... I'll take command of the team immediately... Requesting the Ragnarok Iniative to be instated... Thankyou, I understand."
"Shit! We can't see where they're coming from! There are too many buildings around us!" One of the other Agents shouted as he quickly rushed over to Garmond, "What did HQ say?"
"We are to enforce the Ragnarok Iniative. Inform the APCs immediately. After the bombing we are to wipe out any able-bodied survivors."
"Yes sir!"
"Roger, Center, mark me out of five thousand, climbing to Flight Level Seven Zero Zero," the pilot of the sleek SR-71B Blackbird replied to Stalk Lane Center as he slightly adjusted the jet's course. The pilot, Commander Eric Wrigley, was setting his course in accordance with his flight plan, which once again bore the label of TOP SECRET. His co-pilot, Commander Jake Howarth, tried to make his seat slightly more comfortable as he closed his eyes for a few hours worth of sleep. He'd take over in a while and allow Wrigley the chance to get a little sleep before they reached their objective. They were making a fly-over of Antanjyl. The Senate was in the process of contacting Kahanistan in order to gain access with the persecuted Christians, and possibly bring them into citizenship with Sniper Country. The Senate usually didn't allow foreigners to gain absolute citizenship, but this was a different situation.
As the Blackbird rose above the ground and began over the ocean, Commander Wrigley began to think of the situation. When they made their fly-over, they'd turn their shiny new digital camera on, and feed live footage back to the IMF, as well as store it on the plane's hard drive. They'd be flying at Mach 3, and with the RAM that was almost globbed all over the plane, flying at FL850 would pretty much secure their safety during the mission. They'd be looking for anything from military movements, mass graves, "concentration camps," and anything else that would signify the continued persecution of Christians, Muslims, or other religious organizations that didn't function as a defined terror organization. Wrigley himself wasn't a Christian, but he didn't exactly believe that people didn't have religious rights. He just did as he was told, and this mission was just another example of this.
The SR-71B sped off at Mach 3, heading toward the Antanjyl, as Wrigley thought deeper and deeper on the subject of this mission.
While we would appreciate the creation of one or two military bases in our nation, it would require spontaneous checks by our Agency guardsman to make sure you aren't storing any illegal weapons which could harm Antanjyl, namely nuclear weaponry. If this is alright with you, along with the fact you will by one of only two nations with permanent facilities on our soil, then we will allow the building of such a facility immediately. Please not however, that due to political strife over other incidents we are currently on a high alert for the possibility of a war opening up over falsified accounts of slavery.
0315 Hours, Averia Settlement
It had literally been hell. A routine forced removal from the coast turned into a standoff against an entire town of terrorists. Already, roughly ten men were dead of wounded, moved into the APCs as the vehicles slowly began to run into ammo. Cursing his luck, Agent Garmond looked up at the star-filled sky, a rarity in the often snow-filled skies over Antanjyl. Then he spotted them overhead... His men's salvation with retreat no longer an option.
"Bombers! Everyone get into the APCs! We'll teach these terrorist bastards a lesson they won't soon forget!" He shouted, a bullet from one of the houses whizzing by his head as he quickly climbed into the side along with the few remaining men that were still returning fire, "Stupid bastards..."
Inside, he was greeted by the hope-filled faces of the remaining Agents, the corpses of some piled over in the corner as the bombers overhead were finally heard over the droning of the APC's weaponry. Then it happened...
It sounded like thunder as the first firebomb exploded at the edge of the city, causing a flash and rumble so enormous it could even be seen through the slits of the APC's door. Following it, in quick secession, were a second, third, fourth and fifth. As the literally dozens of exploding firebombs hit the buildings, the screams could clearly be heard outside along with the running of feet. For a second there was even the scratching at his APC's door, but this was quickly ceased by the explosion of a nearby firebomb, causing the temperature to rise at least thirty degrees inside for a split second.
This went on for fifteen minutes, followed by a sudden silence as the sound of the bombers quickly vanished, replaced by the sound of fire. A few minutes later, once they were sure it was safe, the first of the APC doors opened up to the hellscape lying outside. Walls of flame and charred corpses were everywhere, along with the charred body of the woman trying to get in. The stench was incredible, and the APCs themselves were horrible charred, though they still appeared operational. The busses were not so lucky, and were melted to the cobblestones.
"Mission... Accomplished..." Garmond said with a satisfied smile, which quickly changed as his radio began to buzz with an incoming message, "What now?"
"Agent Garmond... Good... Job..." A woman's voice began to speak over from the other end, static in the background. Garmond's satisfied expression soon returned, "Over one thousand or so of the Christians have managed to escape however, and your men and you are ordered to catch up with them immediagely. Our-"
"What?! After what we've just been through? Our wounded-"
"As I was about to say. We have a small convoy outside of town ready to take your dead and wounded. A contingent of soldiers has already been called in to set up an ambush in front of their group. They are headed southwest..."
"Towards Yurka? They'll be killed..." He said in a voice that was not entirely cold, more likely confused, "Alright. I will obey my orders to the letter. Praise Galf."
"Praise Galf."
And so the hunt for the Christians began. If possible, Garmond would at least try to take the remainder alive, since they could at least do Antanjyl as a whole some good. Perhaps as test subjects, or the younger children could be raised as soldiers? Yes... It would be a good turn of events if he could prevent too many of them from dying at this point, despite their crimes.
"That is fine, the only WMDs we store in our regular military bases are small quantaties of chemical weapons(mainly Phosgene), a couple of EMP Devices, and the possible N2 Warhead*. We can remove any of these weapons at your request. We will ask you permission in the case that we want to move further WMDs into the area. The other requirements are fine. Also, the possible war has been noted. We will begin construction as soon as it is feasible."
OOC:*A N2(or Non-Nuclear) Bomb/Warhead is a very powerful 'conventional'(in the sense that there are no odd side effects) weapon, usually 1 to 5 kilitons. The exact method of achieving this explosive force differs from nation to nation.
We appreciate your tactfullness in the matter, and consider those weapons alright at this point. You may only bring WMDs, which include biological or chemical weapons, or nuclear weapons with our expressed permission. If we discover them at your base we may have to eject you from Antanjyl.
We thank you for your concern and will assist you in the creation of your base(s) any way we can.
0420 Hours, Pogwom Mountains
The christians were slowly being picked off by helicopters flying overhead and distant artillery as they rushed through the small valley below. Women, children, and armed christians fell in droves, as they rushed through the forest where their forebearers were massacred over a century ago. As Garmond looked through his binoculars at the flesh covered carpet of corpses, he almost felt sick.
"Good job artillery... Tell the choppers to lay off for awhile untill we cut them off. How many have we taken out so far?" Agent Lieutenant Garmond asked one of his logistics officers, as a smile came over his face at the thoughts of his new rank, "Oh and how many casualties have we taken?"
"We've reported upwards of eight hundred or so killed so far, while we have suffered no casualties. However one of our helicopter pilots sustained a bullet wound to the ankle."
"Thats good... And the ambush?"
"Still setting up in front of them. If they don't surrender what will your orders be?"
"Oh if they don't surrender we'll mow them all down. Though we'll try to talk to their sensible sides, for the sake of the kids. We're not monsters after all." Garmond quickly put the binoculars down and climbed back into the APC as it continued to drive along the christian stampede towards its eventual collision with the ambush up ahead.
Or maybe we are monsters? Garmond began to think, a cold expression coming over his face as he stared at a cup of coffee that was handed to him...
Commander Wrigley was on course and steady at FL850. He was no longer in contact with Stalk Lane Center, and was, for all it was worth, on his own for the time being. He glanced down at his disply, which read Antanjyl as one hundred nautical miles away. He reached down and flipped the first camera switch, which removed the lens cover from the camera. Just a few more minutes and they'd be rolling live over Antanjyl.
It finally happened, after nearly a half-hour of continually picking off the stragglers they came to the destination, just short of the Yurkan border. Going any closer would jeopardise his own troops to the massive southern nation. While the Yurkans would kill the Christians for them if they went to the border, it was always better to take some alive. As the ragtag and bloody group of nearly one thousand survivors rushed forward towards the narrow pass, many of whom were trampled as the valley came to a squeeze, Garmond's APC above quickly let out the message.
"This is Agency Lieutenant Garmond! Begin the ambush now! I want all of our military vehicles getting behind them. If they try to climb kill them..." His voice was cold, as if something sinister had taken control of him, or perhaps he was simply getting into his job?
As the huddled, gore covered masses made it over the choke point, dozens of spot lights quickly turned onto them as they stared in awe at the spectacle in front of them. There, behind the spotlights were nearly one hundred tanks and APCs. Further behind them, in the darkness were an equal amount of busses and soldiers, all weapons aimed at the choke point. Some attempted to run back, but saw numerous helicopters spiralling behind them...
"This is Agency Lieutenant Garmond... Surrender now or I will be forced to end this once and for all. Before you make any rash decisions, I implore you to think about the fate of those children with you. Do you really want to make an action which might jeopardise their innocent lives?"
Antanjyl Territorial Waters, approximately 12 miles offshore.
The Salmon, a Dolphin class submarine sat silently about twenty feet below the surface of the dark waters. An antenne was raised, so that the thin pole poked about five meters above the surface.
It took a few minutes, and as the Agencys' snipers quickly took out the few civilians that attempted to run or climb, the Christians with weapons through them down as the entire mass fell onto their stomaches, hands(or what was left in some cases) on their heads. The Agency Lieutenant Garmond breathed a sigh of relief as the thousand or so civilians were promptly swarmed by the Agency guardsmen and searched.
After driving down to what was the finishing point of this entire affair, Garmond walked over to one of the officers and saluted him. The man promptly gave him a salute of his own, followed by a sincere bow. Agent Garmond had taken control of a potentially lethal situation and turned it into a successful mission. However, none of these christians would ever see foreign shores, at least not as citizens.
"Alright. I want the children that remain placed on busses A1 through A26 and taken to HQ for training. The men and women can be placed on the remaining busses and, if there are anyone left we can't squeeze in, have them walk towards the nearest train station. We did a good job today. Galf will be pleased."
The Agents, most in black uniforms, though a few in white all nodded, their longcoats blowing in a cold breeze, blowing away the stench of gore which seemed to cover the entire area. Perhaps it was the gods' way of offering some relief to these warriors of Antanjyl? Surely that must have been the case...
OOC: Puh. Why do you have to be so evil? >_>
The sensitive listening equipment on the Salmon began to triangulate on those signals, focusing on the military channels and then tracking them. One crewman at a station was recieving a telefaxed map of the country, what was known and what wasn't. Judging from the various sources of the signals, much was gleaned of what was going on.
Half an hour later, they had confirmed with fleet, and orders had been recieved.
The Captain looked to his weapons officer, "Guns. To launch depth." The officer saluted, and the Dolphin-class submarine rose to just below the surface of the water.
VLS tubes were flooded, and then they opened to expose the protected tips of Archer cruise missiles. Seconds later, the submarine rippled off a volley of the cruise missiles, which blew up through the few feet of water, shedding their caps to expose the glossy black sensor tips.
The first missile launched was designated for the communications tower where the radio signals were being transmitted to and from.
The second missile was designed for the HQ building where the prisoners were to be taken.
The third, fourth, fifth and sixth cruise missiles would be seeking out locations where major military communications traffic were coming from. Field headquarters and command centers and such.
The cruise missiles pack a warhead of about 350lbs, and have an accuracy within 2 meters of their designated targets, thanks to GPS and laser guidance.
The Salmon's outline, feet beneath the surface sinks downwards, disappearing from sight again. The submarine begins to head north, a bit closer to the country, mainly just getting away from it's former position.
IC: As the first missile flew over Antanjyl, almost immediately dozens of anti-missile rocketry would be fired from the surrounding landscape, as if from out of thin-air. The second, far inland near the Agency HQ was almost hit as well, though was eventually struck down by more rockets, however, one had missed, hitting a truck on the outskirts of the city, killing the driver.
Out of all of the missiles, essentially only a single one had bypassed the mountain-based defenses, hitting Antanjyl's naval base on the north fringes explosion throughout the barracks, killing dozens upon dozens of soldiers whom earlier had been soundly sleeping. The uproar from the nation would be incredible over this unsolicited attack...
We thank you for your assistance in this matter. However, we view your satellite weapon as more of a trump card. If you used it now, it would lose the element of surprise planned for the main enemy fleet. However, if we do manage to bring any in alive you may interrogate some of them yourself.
-----------------------
The crashing, icy waves around Antanjyl were a hazardous area for most ships, and submarines were no exception, especially when moving as fast as this fleet submarine group was. Leading the group was Naval Commander Rauny, a woman who knew these seas like the back of her hand. The tall, white haired woman in her early twenties sat at the controls of one of the submarines as the message from Galf arrived with the coordinates...
"Alright! We have our orders. While they will all pay for their crimes, if we can take them alive perhaps an interrogation might be in order?!" She shouted to the crew, a charismatic grin on her face as she walked over to deliver a message to any submarines that might have been attempting to listen in on them.
Greetings. I am Commander Rauny Apros of the Imperial Navy. We have pinpointed your location and are only minutes away from destroying your vessel. While I myself would like nothing more than to have you all blown to smitherines here, below the frozen depths, I would much prefer if you would cooperate and come to us alive. Perhaps we could offer you asylum from your nation and grant citizenship here in Antanjyl?
As she talked, the overwhelming number of submarines moved past her own, darting from either side as they looked for the enemy. Their missiles had been primed ever since they left port, ready to fire. However, despite the trigger-happy mood of the soldiers, to disobey Rauny would almost surely mean an aggressive regime of torture.
Several minutes of silence.
The communications tech whispered, "Sir. They are attempting to transmit something. Unless we raise to antenne depth, we can't pick it up though."
The Captain of the Salmon rubbed his chin thoughtfully. He was a beaver anthro, his flat tail tapped at the back of his leg. Then he gave his orders.
**
There was the sound of engines suddenly starting up, and then moving at about 24 knots towards the country. Clear propeller sounds sprinting towards the coastline, about 9 miles away. Perhaps escaping. Yet.. the source of the engine sounds was raising higher towards the surface, and giving off the sounds of VLS bays flooding and opening up as if to launch missiles.
OOC: Aww... I was going to have the Emperor cook and eat your people on national television then send the reception to The Xeno. Now if he eats their remains it won't horrify your people as much since they weren't plucked and cleaned beforehand... How intact will the bodies be? Could I tell they weren't human?
IC: Almost immediately after receiving the message the message relayed from Galf, each submarine in the group immediately fired, hoping to hit it before the craft could fire it's missiles. Though they weren't sure, the numerous installations at the nearby mountains began to prepare to shoot down any missiles that were fired.
Most of the submarines had split-feelings over the act that the enemy took. While happy that they could kill the criminals themselves, they were also rather perturbed that the Agency wouldn't be able to torture and extract any information from them. But as the torpedos quickly sped forward, one thing was certain...
They would punish those responsible... Then go to Chicken Hut to Celebrate ^_^
The Xeno
OOC: Erm.. well. Your folks just sorta fell into the most-basic trap a submarine can lay...
IC:
The multiple torpedos would chase after the source of the noise, a Mark 40D decoy, before exploding one by one in a massive pressure wave. This of course, would foul sensors on submarines, since their own hulls would be vibrating like mad from the sound waves under the water, and in the water around them. For a submarine farther away from the explosions like the Salmon, it made the enemy submarines stand out like bells ringing on a clear night.
On the Salmon, the Captain gave a calm order, "Fire at the last known locations of the northern contacts. Ahead fifteen, port to half."
From the Salmon's 4 torpedo tubes spilled Mark 40 torpedos. 2 of them trailed guidance wires behind them, directly linked to the Salmon. Magnetic detection systems in the two torpedos would seek out the hulls even through the chaos of the still-vibrating water, and with two weapons officers guiding them in, each one of the warheads would seek out a different submarine.
The other 2 torpedos launched are Mark 40Ds. Which are decoys, like the first one. They split into different directions, running north and south. The Salmon slips into the wake of the decoy heading north, its two live torpedos streaking towards their targets.
Two submarines were hit and destroyed, still leaving more than enough to follow behind the enemy. However they would need to rely on Maldaathi's satellites once again to guide them towards the enemy. Despite the first initial craft being a decoy, this time only half of the submarines began to move after the enemy, roughly twelve staying behind to sort things out.
Antanjyl
12-01-2006, 19:41
OOC: Bit of overkill though who am I to judge? Though I would have liked to keep that a surprise for any invading fleets. The Xeno, its essentially dropping bombs into the ocean using kinetic velocity. Practically all submarine engines give off heat when they move.
Maldaathi
12-01-2006, 19:45
OOC: Antanjyl is right but as I explained about the cluster's they are extremely small with a small charge. Used to soften the target before the final explosion. In this case the waters 'skin' is brolen by the mini bombs and therefore allowing the missile deeper penetration into the water. And yes EVERYTHING gives off a heat signature. It's just wheter you have something able to detect it.
Also do you have ANY idea how fast this missile is going?
The Xeno
12-01-2006, 19:48
OOC: Yes. Engines give off heat. However, the heat will not reach the skin of the submarine with significant strength to cause it to be any different than the surrounding water temp. As to the kinetic force, dropping cluster bombs on the surface won't do -squat- to a submarine 500 feet down. But from the same guy who thought that submarines have -windows- .. I'm not suprised.
IC:
The water would vibrate somewhat, and an overpressure wave swept the area. Aboard the Salmon, the Captain looked to his sensor crewman for answers, "Sir, a surface detonation of some kind. Seemed like a saturation attack."
The Captain's brows furrowed, "Are they trying to spoof our listening gear? Launch a Mark 40DI."
Seconds later, among the foamy water where the surface explosions had taken place, there was a bright, rainbow-ish looking oil slick. Someone listening for sounds would hear popping and crackling noises radiating outwards.
"Excellent. Well then lets see how they like being blinded! Fire all torpedos near their posistion! Keep our distance untill the explosion, then we'll close in and catch them off-guard!" Rauny shouted, clenching a fist.
At her word, the dozen of submarines nearby quickly fired off their torpedos towards a spot nearby the rainbow slick, almost immediately after it was detected. Hopefully this would jam them long enough to finish the bastards off for good.
OOC: Ah well. Regardless you gave away your posisition.
OOC: I didn't mean an actual window you twat. I have already explained the clusters though they come with the missile so stop bitching and make up your mind. Are you 500 or 600 feet under. Not to mention that you were ok with us tracking your signature till you got owned.
OOC: If it's going -that- fast, it'd crush itself flat the second it hit the water. Wether the water was choppy or not. It's an urban legend that if you drop something into water, then drop something else into it immedietly afterwards, the second item doesn't encounter the same force.
Actually it has been proven to work if timed correctly
OOC: Number one, for the sake of RP, I consented to a visual detection (Despite it's almost fucking impossible to find something as small as a submarine with a satellite within seconds.) not a heat detection, since the submarine was near the surface for a launch. Number two, "owned"? What the hell, are you 14 years old? Oh wait, maybe I can make a Death Star and "pwn!" you, hmm?
IC:
The source of the oil slick and the sounds of course, would likely be destroyed as a dozen torpedos detonated where it was, feet beneath the surface.
OOC: I take it by your response you happen to be nowhere near the oil slick, which has now been affected by a massive amount of preassure intentioned to mess up your sensors if you were. Regardless I need to leave after this post. Though I'll finish up later.
IC: After the immense preassure wave went off, the submarines quickly split off into groups of six and moved forward to search for their pecky enemy. Rauny was losing her patience, and already she had lost two submarines to the enemy. She would make sure that the SS would pay for this...
OOC: Meh. You could say "near" it. Just.. way under the area. The Mark 40DI has a slick charge and crush sounds emitter.
IC:
The Salmon just sat there at about 900 feet, propellers hardly turning at all, moving at a slow, stealthy 3 knots south-wards. Waiting and listening. Hopefully the search would eventually get called off.
IC: The search continued, the sonar searching for the enemy as the twelve vessels from before quickly arrived to help. After a few minutes Rauny began to order a deeper search, and ordered two ships to drop depth charges, though it would take some time to get there. There was no way she would return to the Emperor empty handed and risk being punished.
Sonar of course, has its uses. Although short-ranged, for things like this it was effective. It would give away the location of the user too, though.
Contact would be made at a depth of 870 feet, about 2/3rds of a mile south of the initial battle zone.
You could actually -feel- and hear the sonar onboard the Salmon, and the Captain immedietly groaned, "Go! Go!" The submarine went to full screw, speeding southwards while launching a decoy towards the west at the same time. Then, another Mark 40 torpedo was launched towards the cluster of submarines without wire guidance, going on sonar and magnetic detection tracking.
Rauny sat back in the commander's chair of the lead submarine as she witnessed the submarine's maneuver. She wouldn't let them catch her off guard again, especially with this most important of missions. Standing up, she flicked her white hair back, before quickly pulling out a speaker.
"Split up! I want four submarines after the sub heading west, five heading south! A-20! Intercept that torpedo!" She shouted as small electrical discharges whipped from the sub, almost in a butchered morse code.
The submarines quickly followed their orders as A-20 fired two torpedos at the Mark-40, the rest of the fleet quickly splitted off as their engines went on full towards the target. Rauny herself rushed over and manned a periscope, which was more than often never used anymore. It would suit her purpose at this point at least.
OOC: Galf doesn't take mission failures lightly. So it would probably be better to waste resources locating an enemy that we could pin as an SS submarine preemptively attacking. That way we could garner more assistance. ^_~ Common punishments Rauny can expect are to be stripped and flogged in Antalia Square.
OOC: So The Xeno. Has your submarine randomly dispersed into the ocean? O_o
