Today the Civitas Americae Organized Militia, which is charged with the defense of mainland Civitas Americae from nuclear threats, announced the addition of the Spartan III missile to the anti-ballistic missile batteries.
"This new missile is the first in Americaen history to not use nuclear weapons in order to destroy incoming ICBM warheads. Rather, each Spartan III launches 20 Kinetic Kill Vehicles at incoming weapons. The impact is so great that the incoming weapon is destroyed. Leakers will be taken care off by the rest of the battery, including the Spartan II missile. In essence, we have outMIRVed the MIRV.
With the introduction of the Spartan III, Civitas Americae now posseses the ability to survive a launch of over a million nuclear warheads and not merely survive, but survive unscathed."
The government also took this opportunity to remind foreign nations that it regards any attack on the space-based portion of the ABM Shield to be the precursor to a nuclear attack and will respond accordingly. It gives its guarantee that the space-based portion of the Shield will not be used against enemy satellites except in self-defense when the shield is already under attack.
