In the years after the creation of the Specials, the organization that was created by the Emperor to act as a staging ground for the best of mobile suit pilots’ creating a massive core of elite troops for the military.
However the Specials due to their effectiveness in combat, and the major victories they have established on behalf of Thrashia has allowed them to operate independently of the main Thrashian army, so as they can choose to enter any battle they wish with the freedom of movement.

Utilizing the technology developed, the Mobile Suit technology, the Specials have become the forefront of Mobile Suit combat and production.
The first leader of the Specials, Treize Kushrenada, has seen to it that the resources necessary to keep the Specials from falling under the power and jurisdiction of the main Thrashian military, therefore securing their independence as a fighting unit.

Using contacts and allies within the Seele Intelligence organization, the main intelligence agency of Thrashia, Treize Kushrenada has developed several dozen mobile suit production factories and the facilities for the training and outfitting of new mobile suit pilots who are willing to join the Specials.
Taking advantage of this Treize, using the Special’s need for major production facilities had taken advantage of these possibilities and created several large facilities. Mostly in space and on the moons of those planets in the Julian System, the home system of Thrashia is where he has located these new facilities.

And as such the Specials have become one of the largest military units within the Thrashian military. While many Army commanders take offence to the freedom of movement and aloofness of the Specials, none can counter-man the Specials ability to supply top-of-the-line mobile suits, and even the military has become in small ways dependant on these same facilities.
