Shot down over the waste lands of Frozopia (MT)

Topal

He woke up. And all around him was darkness.

Breaking news
Tall, dark and hansome broadcaster puts on his grave face and begins to speak:

"Today 24 year old Mathew Day, heir to the Multi-Billionaire Day Empire was fired upon by a ground-to-air missile over the country once known as Frozopia while flying in his private jet yesterday. In case you havent heard of it, Frozopia is a large Frozen continent. Not too long ago It was involved in a war that left most of the country destroyed in ruins and covered in radiation. Its Royal family has disapeared off the face of the planet, and now the remaining people's are left to their own means. It is believed the country has split into a number of factions, one of which is believed to have kidnapped Mathew Day. His parents know he is alive as they have recently recieved video footage of him. Here it is:"

On screen a young man, gagged and blindfolded is tied to a chair. Someone holds out a gloved hand holding a knife. Using the knife, the unknown hand lifts the man's chin so he faces the screen. The man makes some muffled screams, and then the video footage cuts out.

The news representer is back on screen
"Sir Steven Day and his ex-model wife Susan Day, flew from their island home to mee Roland, leader of Topal, a offshoot of the Frozopian empire, believed to be the last civilised side of Frozopia. They were met with a blunt refusal to assist in any way. Apparently the military forces of Topal are stretched enough protecting the island and maintaining law and order. Roland warns that it was probably the Chinan faction in the northern most parts of Frozopia. Where the plane crash occurs certainly suggests this is true. Today Sir Steven Day and Susan Day made a request on national television:"

"Please some one help us find our son."

Speaks the teary eyed and middle aged women, still beautiful despite the ravages of age. It looked surprising natural, which suggested a good plastic surgeon or a naturally young looking women. Her gaze fixed on the camera looking like a true pro, proof of all her modelling experience, she began:

"We will pay you. Anything. But Bring him back to us alive and well. Anything to return our boy."

She burst into a fit of tears, maybe feigned, but it looked convincing. Instead of falling into the arms of her husband, she collapsed on her lap. And who could blame her? Her husband looked more like the stern general time. Ruthless, tough and young for his years. His hair was black, his teeth white, he seemed not at all upset by the incident. He began talking to.

"Find my Son. Any mercenary force, anyone! We will pay you well."

Once again the news representer appeared on screen.

"It seems Sir Steven Day is not expecting a Ransom request as it would of been given by now. This is an obscure case, and no question. Why was a multi-billionare celebrity flying over such an obscure part of the world? Why no ransom note? Many of the world's kidnapping specialist are suggesting that the faction are just trying to bring about world wide awareness. We will see. Moving on........"

The same gloved hand that held a knife to a frightened young man's throat, felt for the remote control and turned off the TV screen and smiled revealing a mouth full of yellow teeth. It had begun.

We will work to find the man, but only if you join The Northern Sushi Commonwealth Union Society. We will offer military protection and advice, but you will be required to trade some goods with our nation, and citizens must add on a small .25% sales tax to all items under $75. The nation must tell the NSDIA of all binding decisions prior to making them and all non-binding decisions after. The nation would have to recognize itself as a Protectorate of Northern Sushi also.

With your permission, the nation of Haraki would like to send both a Haraki Intelligence Agency team and a special forces team from the CEF to obtain the whereabouts of Mr. Day, and aid in the retrieval of said person.

As an operation of this scale using multinational forces will require a certain degree of co-operation between said international forces, we feel it would be best if all teams from all involved nations met up in the beginning and co-ordinated our efforts, making the discovery and rescue of Mr. Day go much smoother and faster. Also we would like to obtain a copy of the tape so our HIA analysts can go to work on it attempting to discover the location of its filming.

[OOC: I don't know if you know this or not; but after we finally posted the invasion during the war Frozopia disappeared and allowed the nation to be deleted. After that everyone who was in the war divided his nation up between themselves. I can't speak for all of us, but I don't know how someone could shoot someone down in the nation without us stopping it or knowing about it. For starters, security would be pretty tight with us paranoid bunch; and shoulder fired systems don't have the range to take down something that would probably be flying much higher than 20,000 feet. Also, if you could somehow explain to me how this is working, you'd have to RP your people getting in which is going to be one helluva operation in itself considering how tight provincial security is.]

OOC: Mckagan has a point, I mean Frozopia is gone, and we own the place.

So you use the long name to cover up the fact that you want to annex them?

OOC: McKagan, since my internet broke and Frozopia was deleted, I dont know how you managed to Roleplay so that you and others owned my old nation. Im just gonna ignore it, since I was hardly gonna roleplay a defensive even though I had large amounts of my ground force intact. Instead I roleplayed a collapse of Frozopia.

IC:
"They think I care about some little rich kid getting shot down?" Snapped Roland.

"Well they are all talking to you sir." Spoke his assistant.

"Well Northern Sushi can go to hell, I am not going to sign that agreement."

"Sir, It may look good if you handled the mercenary help, seeing as you refuse to offer any other assistance."

"Maybe.....Ok send Findan and Haraki the tape and the crash co-ordinates. Accept their assistance. Tell them to send a representatative to Topal. We need to discuss some other matters."

"You mean the Chinan threat."

"Yes."

"Sir this all seems a bit.....suspicious. I mean what was he doing so far north? Could he be in league with......"

Roland cut him off.
"Dont be stupid. He's just some rich boy who wanted to do some exploring."

"But sir, he could have been very useful to the chinan. We used to business with the Day coporation. When I say we, I mean Frozopia." The assistant quickly added when Roland gave him an odd look.

"Do not include us with what was once Frozopia. Those days are gone."

Somewhere, northern Frozopia.

Three men sit around a TV screen with the power off. All are garbed in their winter wear, obviously some defence against the extreme cold.

"The old man's scared. I thought that cold bastard couldn't love anyone, but he love's the boy." Speaks one, smiling and revealing his yellow teeth seemingly oblivious to any cold.

"How-how can yoooou te-tell?" Speaks another, shivering with cold.

"All you need to do is look him in the eye. Maybe he will keep his mouth shut."

"What about the mercenaries?" speaks the third, also oblivious to the cold. His accent is Frozopian (OOC: Think Russian), cold and harsh.

"Pah. Your soldiers will deal with them. We almost have everything we want. Hah. Roland assists the one people who conspire to destroy him."

The three men laughed.

[OOC: You waited for us to get way up into a complex RP, RP'ing during all our bombraids and everything, and the exact same day we finally started landing troops you stopped logging in. I call that running away, myself. I'm not letting you get out of something that easy, so we'll all probably just ignore YOU.]

You finally landed some troops? After about 2 weeks RL Constant bombardment? Well done. But Mckagan my internet did break, so I could hardly do anything could I? Im sorry that I chose to use Frozopia in this thread, but whats done is done. It just makes things more interesting as Frozopia has an history.

[OOC: It can be one of those "for this RP only" things, I guess. Meaning in this RP Frozopia is a frozen nuclear wasteland: That works if it's not going to have a future runoff thing. Anyway; yeah. After we bombed it to shit we started dropping paratroopers in and having Marines storm up on the beaches in various locations. It was really layed out well because if you'd been RP'ing it would have been ALOT of misdirection.]

"Sir, we've received the tape from Topal," came a voice, protruding into Kulikan's much-needed time of rest. He opened his eyes, leaning forward and taking his feet off his desk.

"Yes yes, very good," he muttered, turning to the messenger who had brought it in. "Take it to the analysts. They'll know what to do with it. Analyzing and all that."

The messenger nodded in agreement and left again. But this warned Kulikan that it was time for him to assemble his team and leave. Topal's government had agreed to Harakian help, somewhat obviously, and so they had to help. Kulikan's team, as the most experienced team with the most experienced leader, had of course been issued this mission. God damn he hated the chain of command.

Kulikan had been in the HIA for years and years. He was already one of the top field agents when his friend Jaime Wolfe had come to power in the Prime Minister's seat, and with a great deal of internal trouble in the nation, he had somehow evolved into the man everyone wanted on their missions. He was the only operative in the history of the HIA to have worked in all three main branches as a field agent: Intelligence, Operations, and Black Ops, all in both foreign and domestic assignments. His original team, three people plus him, had all retired or switched jobs, partly because they grew tired of endless life-or-death missions. One of them had lost an arm and his sanity in a bad assignment, and now Kulikan had an all-new team. Still some of the most experienced people in the HIA, they were nowhere near as good as his original team.

So he had had them assembled once he heard of this new mission. Two men and a woman, plus him. They were, within an hour of the tape's arrival, completely packed with all the latest technology they needed for information gathering on the man's location and on a plane to Topal. Following up several days behind them were thirteen CEF men in full arctic gear with NBC suits. Always be prepared indeed, but they may have been overdoing it.

(Dammit, we had a huge plan and everything....

TLA was going to nuke his beachhead and storm it with special forces...
I was planning a massive misdirection on the islands and other beaches along with chaff and flares all over the coastline. Thousands of ships landed. Followed by a massive airstrike and missile strike. I was landing a Mechanized Infantry Division, an Armoured Division, 4 Airborne Divisions and 3 Special Forces Battalions unloaded with their vehicles off the side of an airplane Mercenaries style.

I rammed several transport ships into the beach to create a fort on the beach.
McKagan and RedTide were going to follow up with similar strikes.
In the end we wanted to take the island last...)
OOC: What is Frozopia now? If its a wasteland because we bombed it to shit, I'm taking this as an excuse to invade.
