Next Year in Jerusalem (ATTN: IDF)

The Resurgent Dream

Israel, as a fellow parliamentary democracy, had long been on the list of nations with which the Danaan Ministry for Foreign Affairs wished to establish normal relations. It was simply a commentary on the vast number of nations in the modern world that something so obvious had not been done before. However, it had now come more pointedly to public attention since the war in Egypt had begun. The Resurgent Dream, of course, was strictly neutral in that conflict, but that didn't mean they hadn't noticed and an invitation was extended to Israel to establish normal relations with Mrs. Gisel Tzon to be appointed as ambassador should the Israelis be amenable.

There was some commentary in the media about the fact that Foreign Minister Goldfarb, the first Jew to hold that office, had made the overture to Israel as his last major initiative before turning his portfolio over to Viscountess Kirias and moving on to take up the Federal portfolio. However, the Minister in question consistently responded that he was simply doing his job, part of which was to normalize relations with as many nations as possible, especially, but not exclusively, other democratic countries, and the speculation eventually died down.

To Mrs. Tzon
From Foreign Minister Kenny Williams

We are pleased that you would like to normalize relations with us. We are very honored that you see us as a worthy diplomatic partner. We will see to it that all the proper paperwork is completed inside a few weeks so you can open up an embassy inside of our capitol of Jerusalem. You can set up consolates in any other city if you would like.

We would also like to know if we can set up an embassy inside of your nation. The diplomat we would appoint is Billy Koch. He is one of the best in my Ministry.

We also would like to open up trade relationships.

We will gladly accept an embassy from your nation in Tarana. We would like to set up our embassy in Jerusalem and a consulate in Tel Aviv. We would also freely accept a normal trading relationship. A closer relationship might be built with time.

We are glad to be able to have a relationship with your great nation. We believe you will find our trading policies to be much in your favor as we do not impose tariffs of any kind on trade.
