The cold darkness that is the void of space lay silent only to be disturbed by violent eruption of a jump shear forming. A tear in space formed rapidly; the greenish glow projected on the space dust surrounding the tear vissable at a far. From the event horizon projected a large vessel. The Neutron Explorer a Korgarein Deep space exploritory vessel entered normal space.

Onboard the Neutron Explorer;

"Captain, we have exited Jump space safely!" exclaimed one of the helmsmen.

"Very good crewman, begin all standard scans of the area" replied the Captain.

Several hours passed and the crew grew more and more restless. They had been in deep space far from home for nearly two years. While they stayed in nearly constant communication with Fleet command it just wasn't the same as being home with their families. This was the seventh system they had explored while looking for mining prospects. Their boredom would soon change.

"Sir, we are detecting massive power spikes on a planet in this system." the ops officer told the captain.

"Well then, lets find out what it is. Open a channel and see if anyone responds."

"Yes sir, channel open."

The TranSenia OneMind was aware of the ship in orbit of their planet, few races realise that since space compresses the strong-of-mind can quite-literally feel ships within a few billion miles. A single male was manning the machine-communications, his female superviser thousands of miles away monitering him only through the OneMind and thus was the way of TranSenia.

The male's body was immediately taken over by the TransQueen, ruler of all TranSenia for this communication... she regretted having to talk with his voice but the words were hers. The male, who's name is unimportaint, was happy to serve his queen even if it means that he looses bodily control for a moment.

Just as the male was released, the TransQueen smiled. This was it, First contact. Perhaps they'll be able to assist in the construction of the Colony ship, who knows maybe they know the loss of self as she and her people gloriously enjoy.

Onboard the Neutron Explorer;

The message was recieved and understood. The Captain quickly ordered a diplomatic detachment to be organized and a shuttle readied. Within minutes as group was ready and prepairing to leave the ship.

"Open channel to the planet crewman." Ordered the Captain.

"Yes Sir. Ready Sir." he replied.

The shuttle exited its docking bay and proceeded on course for the coordinates provided by the planets inhabbitence. On board was the pilot and co-pilot and a diplomatic delegation of three members.

The shuttle's landing site was in the middle of the old capital. Flanked by local plantlife it was a beautiful mix of the TranSenian unique archetechure and the plants that mingled with them. It landed before a single female hovering at the top of a short set of stairs waiting for the inhabitants to exit their craft

The shuttle's hatch opened slowly and out stepped the three Korgarein representatives. They tugged on their uniforms to straiten them as they exited the shuttle. Their black crimson trimmed uniforms where pressed and formal looking. Unlike most Korgarein Officers these were not wearing dress uniform hats. All of the delegates were male. One of them had long white hair while the others were bald. Their pale almost translucent flesh shown hints of their black blooded veins.

They looked at each other then at the floating woman at the top of the stairs. The man with white hair stepped forward first and bowed slightly to the woman before introducing himself. "I am Representative Tal'kin of the Federal Empire of Korgarein and these are my aids 'Brewl' and 'Trelagviv'. I am sorry but we do not have an official Ambassador onboard."

The TranSenian bowed "I am Keeper Tre'La. Your lack of an official ambassidor is of no concern. We have none either as you are the first race we've ever encountered." She left her bow and smoothed her robe "Come, the Queen awaits you and would speak to you in person." Tre'La turned around and hovered towards an ornate crystaline palace that loomed over the city.

The three Korgarein men glanced at each other once more then began to follow Tre'La towards the palace. Tal'kin spoke up. "An Impressive world you have here. I sense a strong presence, something i'm not used to. We would like to learn much about your people."

Tre'La glanced at Tal'kin "You sense the OneMind. A higher state of consiousness that links our kind. Through it, we have become one people and our queen rules over us with fairness and equality in mind." Tre'La closed her eyes for a moment and the palace doors opened for the group. Tre'La floated inside.

Tal'kin and the others continued to fallow. "We see, we also see that it seems to control other aspects as well." Tal'kin remarked as he noticed the doors opening at the mear thoughts of Tre'La.

Tre'La giggled slightly "The OneMind has allowed us to use MindPowers. I havn't walked since I learned to hover for example." She mentally opened a pair of doors at the end of the hallway and moved to the side "Our queen wishes to speak to you and your aids without my presence. I do not question her." Tre'La bowed and left to do other things.

All the members of the Korgarein delegation bowed and Tal'kin spoke softly. "Thank you, we will continue." Looking at each other again they proceeded onward through the doors Tre'La had opened for them.

The throne room wasn't overly large, but it was ornate to say the least. Looking as if it were practically grown out of the crystiline substance the whole palace is made of. It lead to a golden throne where sat the TransQueen wearing a large metal crown that practically glowed with energy. Her long red dress flowed to the floor. When the Korgarein delegation entered she stood up and levitated to them. "I am Fi'ran, TransQueen of TranSenia." Before any of them could speak "I know your names, the OneMind connects the thoughts of every inhabitant of this planet to my thoughts. I greet you visitors with open arms and an open heart. We strongly hope not to anger the first other race we've encountered."

The Korgareins took time to look about and marvaling at the rather interesting design aspects of the TranSenian palace. "Very well." said Tal'kin while bowing slightly as a show of respect. "I'm not sure what you could do to anger us. We are simply glad to set foot on solid ground. It has been some time since we have left our ship."

she nodded "I see then... Your minds are seperate, are they not?" she asks, not sensing the unity from their miinds as from her own peoples' minds

"We are of sperate minds, we prize our individuality of thoughts. We do have the ability to communicate without speach however this is done through technology and not biologic as your's seem to be." Tal'kin said while displaying a sense of pride in his people and their ways.

Fi'ran mulled this over "Then we are not as different as you may think. We too pride ourselves on the individuality of thought as well as in the unity of the group. Without the OneMind we would be seperate, but easily livable."

"I see, well purhaps we are not all that different in that way. Could you tell us more of your culture and world here?" asked Tal'kin.

Fi'ran smiled brightly "Of course. Our kind was able to access the OneMind even before we achieved sentience, but without a focal point it became useless... fragmented. Small empires rose and fell for thousands of years. That is untill my mother began experimenting with using a single being as a center for the OneMind, it united our people in the glory of the group and made us realise that our destiny lies not on this small world, but out there in space. We can sense enough to know that it's crowded, but we also know we're remote out here which may give us some time to grow untill we can hold our own. But I'm probably boring you with this history lesson, tell me about your kind?"

"I see, somewhat like a hive mind and a hive queen in a way. We have met some 'hive' races. They tend to be much less friendly then yours I might add though. Yes, I suppose you could say it is rather crowded and very dangerous at that." Tal'kin thought to himself for a moment. How would he answer her question. After all Korgareins are not the most forthcoming nation when it comes to knowledge about them.

He straitened his jacket again in somewhat of an obvious display of uncertainess and then began. "Well, Korgareins are a geneticly re-engineered race. At one time our clan was divided into waring factions. To say the least, eventually the Faction known as Garein finially won the day and united the various factions of the Kor Clan and formed the Federal Empire of Korgarein. Now we live in relitive peace with each other however this 'peace' as it is tends to make a race of warriors very restless. We are considered a very secretive people by many. I would say that that is the basic run down of our people and history."

"I see... I'd like you to know that none of us on this world bears you any ill will or hostility for your in-fighting. For there are many of us who remember when we were the same way just 20 years ago." she nods "You mentioned you were secerative... does that mean you will not aid us in the construction of our first colony ship?"

"Well, I suppose that would depend on what you want from us. We rarely share technology but we might be able to help you allong with yours. We would of course require our own access to any technology that we help you develope." while placeing his hands together and rubbing them together in an almost gready like action.

Fi'ran turned her head to the side as if to listen to a far-off voice. "An interesting proposition... although not nessicary at this time. Perhaps you could assist with more material and manpower instead?" she suggests. The OneMind all knew that such a one-sided technological agreement would harm them later.

His expression changed slightly from a small smirk to a strait face. "Yes, I suppose something like that could be arranged although much of our menerals and materials are being used for certain.. well, we will just say projects at this time. We might be able to work something out considering you only seem to be requesting help for one ship."

Fi'ran nodded "Thank you for your kindness. If you need anything to assist in those projects that our unique perspective can assist in, feel free to ask." something got her attention for a mooment "Excuse me but something has come up. Keeper Tre'La will show you around the city if you would like."

"I think we will be ok..." while bowing. "... But we would love to look around. Lead on." Tal'kin seemed please with this meeting. Although it might not have seemed so, much had been learned and gained here, but then he thought he might have unknowingly gave more information then intended as well. He knew that with their impressive ablities these would be a people to be both studdied intensely and carefully guarded from at the same time. Now only time would tell.

Keeper Tre'La floated into the room and bowed to the delagation. She lead them throughout the city pointing out landmarks and remarking on plantlife every once in a while. Generally the TranSenians were cautiously optimistic of the results of the meeting. These are definately a people to watch as well as learn from.
