Those seven states comprise the Prussian-Allanean subcontinent, an island in the Greater Prussian Bay. “Merkaz” is the center of the star-shaped island, while the rest of the parts are it’s ‘rays’. Merkaz is the location of the Allanean capital. The population of those states is approaching one billion citizens.
Axackal
This state was split off from the Confederate States of Allanea during the First Edolian War. Allaneans have always desired to retrieve their posession, and fought four more wars to retrieve it. As such, after the Fifth Edolian War, the Confederacy has seized Axackal as their own. The province contains almost two hundred million inhabitants, whose vote is usually split between thte Democrat and Libertarian parties.
West Axackal
This state neighbors Axackal from the west. For years, the locals here were either emigrants from Edolia seeking a less communist way of life, or Allaneans bracing for a war with Edolia and a reconquest of Axackal. As such, this state has a generally Libertarian constituency and a population of approximately sixty million people.
New Vermont
This is one of the original states that participated in the founding of Allanea, and it has a population to show for it. Three hundred fifty people live in the state, profitting mainly from tourism, drug production, and the arms industry.
Kalandia
Yet another original Allanean state, heavy on the tourism and entertainment industry. Population is 250 million people.
Daikatana
Conquered after attacking Allanea, this Muslim state is one of the oldest members of the Confederacy. The population is 200 million people.
Yurka-City
A Yurkan War conquest (d’oh), Yurka-City is a 10-million island city with the powers and rights of a single state – and Mangalan investment made it the Allanean Las-Vegas.
The Hash and Mgweni
Allanea’s most important conquests, those states were once a single nation. Still heavily influenced by their indigenous cultures, the 800 million locals are an important force in Allanean politics.
Aissur
A former socialist republic and fuel industry center, Aissur is the center of the Democrat constituency – and it’s 170 million voters are one heck of a block.
Allanean Arkansas, Louisiana, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, Virginia and West Virginia, Delaware, New Jersey, Connecticut, Mariland, D.C.
The first thirteen states were ceded by the United Solaris Federation of Tiburon to Allanea, and almost immediately granted statehood. Then, a strange fractal shift occurred and that Allaneans found themselves shifted to an area known as the Non-Earth – ‘another’ North American continent. Then, the borders were adjusted slightly – almost idenitfical in pattern to the old Confederacy, but adding Western Virginia
Those states are pretty much etnografically unchanged from the time of the Old Common Era, even despite the large amount of Allanean tourists in the area. The population of the area is approximately one hundred and sixty million people. As such, they constitute an important voting block both in the House and Senate, and invariably provide Allanea with thirty Republican senators, in act if not in name.
As the North American continent is the origin of the Allaneans (or at least some of them), the area has now become possibly the largest museum in Allanean history – all items and locations related to the history of the North American continent, such as the homes of Patrick Henry and George Washington.
New Alaska
This Allanean posession consists of the majority or Lila, a Kuiper Belt Object claimed by the Confederacy. Only about two million Allanean inhabit New-Alaska, making it perhaps the smallest of all states of the Confederacy. The inhabitants of New-Alaska profit mainly from the industry of space-harvesting, extremely common in Allanea, and from providing refueling and refitting to passing spacecraft. They provide Congress with two generally Libertarian representatives.
New Florida
This state is a huge area of Mercury, with a surprisingly large population, consisting of several arcologies full of miners who constantly exploit the rich supply of minerals on the planet under the protection of MEA energy shields, and of military deployments and those providing them with the necessary civilian infrastracture. This is a Libertarian-voting state with a population of 10 million
New Idaho
The biggest Allanean state, New-Idaho has a population of 1 billion people. It is an Earthlike planet approximately 32 light-years from Sol. It is represented by 1,000 congressmen, and is a predominantly Libertarian state, with a significant Hamiltonian constituency as well.
New Montana
This is the asteroid belt of New Idaho. Due to it’s distinct makeup, it’s a separate state, with a population of 50 million.
Nova Texas
During the One-Day War, a large amount of refugees was evacuated by Capsule Corporation personnel from Allanea. It is they who founded Nova-Texas, an Allanean enclave in Zarahemla. It’s main industry is currently serving as an insanely oversized hunting resort for the Allanean wealthy. The population is approximately one hundred million, providing Congress with a solid Libertarian vote at any time. It is from this state that the state of Zara-Khrishta has been split-off from.
Zara-Khrishta
When the Allaneans aided the micro-exodus of Khristians from Mercury IV, they largely settled on Zarahemla. The Khristian enclave was granted statehood in a later Confederate Congress decision known as the Khristian State Act 2506. When the Khristian state was born, many Khristians emigrated there, leaving Zarahemla with a population of approximately 100 million citizens, about 85% of which are ethnically Khristian.
The major religion is Evangelist christianity, which is worshipped by as many as 20% of the population. Khristians are mostly employed in heavy industry, providing the Allanean Arms, Inc. shipping factories with cheap workforce. As the overwhelming majority of the people in the state are working-class, the Khristians vote largely Democratic, with a small but consistent percentage of pro-Hamiltonian voters, which is nevertheless not sufficient to turn the tide.
Egeruo
Granted to Allanea by the Arizona Novan Empire, Egeruo is the homeworld of the sentient penguinoids called the Dohwar. They comprise 80% of the planet’s one-billion population, and it’s almost entirely covered in ice. Egeruo, in fact, means “icy” in the language of the Dohwar.
Midna Ceti
Granted by Mindset to the Allaneans, this planet is bereft of natural resources, and is the seat of Allanea’s entertainment and programming industry, as well as a large amount of asteroid harvesting factories. The population is approximately half a million.
