The Society of Leopold
30-12-2005, 17:25
Brother Thomas walked down the well-lit corridors of the Society of Leopold's base in Munich. The steel-panelled walls were covered in images of the saints, and acts of famous Society of Leopold hunters of the past. He made his way to the holding cells, where one of the abominations before God was kept.
The Beast was in a frenzy, pathetically attempting to smash through the walls of the holding cell. Electric shocks caused it to jump back every time it touched a wall. Eventually, the beast composed itself. Brother Thomas watched, fascinated by the abomination. He coughed, and adressed the vampire:
"Abomination, before we kill you in God's name, you must tell us the names of all your contacts. All your hideouts. We need to know your havens, your princes, all the members of your damned community. You can tell us and be killed quickly, or you can stay silent... And see a beautiful sunrise."
"Go to hell!"
"You would know about Hell, wouldn't you, Ventrue? Thought you could pull the strings of humanity? No. Christ wills us to annihilate your kind, to eradicate the mistakes of Caine, and we will happily oblige. Now, tell me. Or I will open a window. There's blazing sunshine out there. It's an incredibly nice day."
"Hide in your Churches, scum, you won't last forever. Kindred will live to see your children's children turn to dust!"
"Wrong answer. I'll have to move on. The New Inquisition has a lot to do."
"New Inquisition?"
"Yes. Oh, I almost forgot..."
Brother Thomas pressed a switch. The window facing the holding cell, previously pitch black, turned clear as thin air. He left the room, the sounds of the vampire burning to death blessing his ears.
"Such wonderful sounds..."
Four hours later, Society of Leopold Regional HQ Briefing Room
Brother Thomas looked around the room. The council had been arguing for an hour, debating wether or not to inform world governments of the Society's intention to begin the New Inquisition.
Thomas stood.
"We have no choice. The world has been woefully ignorant of these abominations, playing right into the hands of those who have been influencing them for so long. The Ventrue and Lasombra have lost a lot of influence recently, but they still have their areas of influence. We must inform the world, or we could be mistaken for terrorists. Which technically, we could be classified as."
The council muttered their agreements.
Governments of the World:
For hundreds of years, our society has been beset on all sides by abominations before God. Things some would call supernatural and others might call 'undiscovered sciences'. My people call them heresy.
We, the Council of the Society of Leopold are announcing our investigations into tese beings are going into the agressive stage. We ask for your co-operation in allowing us to operate in your nation, or perhaps turning a blind eye to unexplained goings on. We realise you may not recognise the authority of the Roman Catholic Church, and we understand that, but we act in the best interests of all humankind.
