Smoking Ban Comes Under Intense Controversy

KALTAR, YAFOR 2 - With the renewal of the Yaforite ban on smoking due to come up again this week in the Internal Council, there is intense controversy over whether to renew the ban or not. For the first time, international tobacco companies are lobbying for the ban to be cancelled, escpecially due to changes in the Pacitalian market. The government has had mixed responses and here, in Kaltar, people have taken it into their own hands.

It was from 11:30 in the morning to 3:00 in the evening that a group of pro-international and pro-capitalists decided to make a stand on the issue. Led by Reginahl Haroius, they marched for nearly a mile, all the time passing out pampflets, carrying signs, and chanting, loudly, about "business freedom" and "freedom of the market".

Mr. Harious, 43, is a licensed Libertarian-Capitalist and has spent a good deal of his life abroad, in countries with much freer markets. He has stated that he "will not rest until this ban is taken away." His wife, Karen, is clearly from a foreign country and has stated that "the government is infringing upon territory it should not be infringing upon".

Unlikely to become a major issue in the upcoming election, the ban on smoking has been a mainstay on the list of bills ever since Yafor 2 emerged from the shadow of the empire. It is unlikely that Mr. Harious' efforts will do anything to change that.

IYAF Reaches Milestone

Ajer, Yafor 2 - In a surprisingly wonderful fashion, the Imperial Yaforite Aid Foundation (IYAF) has reached a milestone in spending, not gaining, money. Today, the IYAF has reported that they have spent over One Trillion US Dollars (as a unifying currency, that is what they count in) in disaster relief, war relief, and other programs.

Many not-for-profit and aid foundations and companies recieve money, but very few spend all of it. The IYAF is, by far, the most popular Yaforite foundation to donate to, and has recieved over 4 trillion US dollars. Thus, they have only spent under 25% or 1/4th of the money that has been donated - a massive amount.

The IYAF has helped to rebuild Malkyer following a Civil War, has helped in the Pacitalian Earthquake, and every day builds homes for the homeless and helpless in thousands of countries. There are over 2 million IYAF workers, most of whom volunteer their time to help others.
