OOC: Yes, I'm coming back (Need FT help)
Back from the grave (or self-imposed exile, whatever you wish to call it)- want to make a new start in FT. What should I know or be familiar with to do this? Does seem a bit confusing at first, but the tech won't be too much of a problem- watching Episode III over and over again as I have, along with all other SW movies and reading a crapload of books teaches you a few things. :)
In any case, if anyone could respond with some helpful stuff- I'd appreciate it.

First of all decide if you want to do a custom tech or pre-made tech(Star Wars/Trek, 40k ect). If pre-made, do a bit of research/talk to other people who do that tech(Ie: Chronosia is 40k based, Huntaer has Star Wars), if custom, take your ideas, and run them by other people for feasibility/wank/GM evaluation and go from there.
well, my general ideas was using Star Wars--I'm just curious as to what the state of affairs is per se, alliances, etc--biggest question is if there's an FT equivalent of all of the Earths that seem to be present.
If you mean something like Earth X, where people claim galaxies and such, I believe there is one that's starting(but I'm not sure how that's going). Most nations are just 'there' without a major concern on real world spatial geometry or positioning.

Yeah, if you need a partner I'm pretty open. Xanthal may not be Earth-based, but it certainly has plenty of contact with the planet. A relatively peaceful liberal democracy, low-key FT tech. I'd be happy to do something with you provided that your military power is within reasonable boundaries. Since you're a fairly senior player though, that shouldn't be too hard.
what I've got in mind so far is a Star Destroyer (one of the Early Ep.III models- Venator I believe), accidentally entering hyperspace and vanishing from Imperial space- exiting somewhere totally unknown.
