It was announced to day that a substantial but unknown amount of money and resources were approved to start major improvements some of these include:
Shkadov thrusters (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shkadov_thruster )
Ring worlds http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ringworld
An Ecumenopolis on terran prime http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ecumenopolis
Extras will be added as well including a massive inter dimensional portal array, dark energy inter stellar transporter systems, expiations on the outer systems, massive artafical moons.
New FTLI, TDI, and DDI will be put in place as the ring world and a new Alderson disk come in to being.
To provide extra power for these endeavors several company’s form the Union will be contracted to use the method of star lifting
