While USD is much easier, some people have currencies they like to RP with.

In my nation 1 Credit is roughly 1 cent. It is rarely ever carried as paper money but insted high-tech credit cards are used.

Well, I use a combination of both. Sometimes I use USD and others I use my currency Golden Honeycombs (GHD). It really depends what and where I am RPing.
