Location:
The entire continent of Atruria, bordering both the Atrurian and Thedronian Seas.

Legislative Branch
Unicameral elected body, known as the Royal Parliament, consisting of 500 seats. Presided over by the Chancellor, elected by Parliament. All legislators spend a term of 2 years and may be re-elected. One half of the Parliament is elected every 2 years.

Judicial Branch
The Royal Court has five justices, appointed by the High King, who gather together to decide on verdicts.

Economy

Overview: The High Kingdom has a moderately strong economy, rated by the United Nations as good. In this market-oriented economy, private individuals and business firms make most of the decisions, and the federal and state governments buy needed goods and services predominantly in the private marketplace. Among the major bustling industries in Atruria are mining ventures, motor vehicle manufacturing, oil production and refining, beef and sheep processing, and wine production. The most profitable venture being, of course, uranium mining. As a general proposition, different provinces produce different goods and services and trade with each other, making the nation self-sufficient, with no economic ties elsewhere.

Introduction: Gov't & Politics
The High Kingdom of Atruria is a constitutional monarchy, where the ruling power is divided between the High King and the Royal Parliament. The office High King is a monarchial hereditary position of power, where his authority is deemed of divine nature. When formalized by an official Royal Decree, his word is law. Thanks to High King Charles III, there is now also an elected governmental body. This elected body is known as the Royal Parliament. It is a unicameral organization, consisting of 500 seats. All 500 seats are divided between the 42 provinces, with the Special Administrative Region of the Atrurian Catholic Church not recieving a seat. These seats are divided according to population levels. As of now, there exist several political parties in Atruria, they and their platform descriptions are listed below.

Royal Atrurian Party
Seats: 275
The Royal Atrurian Party is a party that maintains a belief in a royal government and parliament. It is a semi-capitalist party, believing that the current economic system should be kept, but, that corporations should be curbed somewhat, for environmental protection. Like most Atrurian political parties, it is morally and politically liberal.

Royal Democrat Party
Seats: 90
The Royal Democrat Party, another capitalistic-leaning party believes that the current economic system should be maintained; however, it believes that corporations should be curbed somewhat, as to maintain the environment. They also believe in maintaining Atruria's current civil and political freedoms, as a morally and politically moderately liberal party.

Royal Libertarian Party
Seats: 70
The Royal Libertarian Party is dedicated to preserving and broadening Atruria's civil liberties and personal freedoms. It is also interested in ensuring that Atruria's economy remain a capitalist and free-market one.

Crown Unification Coalition
Seats: 40
The Crown Unification Party is, in general, an economic and moral conservative party. Its main aims, however, are to strengthen the Atrurian central government and abolish the federal system in existance and also to shrink the government's size. Besides these two issues, the CUC is a staunch conservative group, when it comes to morality and 'family values'.

Atrurian Labor Party
Seats: 24
Less radical than its parent organization, the Marxist Coalition, the Atrurian Labor Party is a party that wishes to convert the Atrurian capitalist economy into a model welfare state. Being the more rational of Atruria's social parties, the Labor Party is somewhat more popular, but still a very small party.

Marxist Coalition of Atruria
Seats: 1
The Marxist Coalition of Atruria is a communistic party, committed to the ideals of Karl Marx, Albert Einstein, and Hellen Keller. As communism, in virtually any form, is extremely unpopular in Atruria, out of the 500 seats in parliament, the MCA could only obtain a single one.

HM Ministry of Internal Affairs
His Majesty's Ministry of Internal Affairs is responsible for tourism affairs, and also responsible for immigration and naturalization policies.

-HM Office of Tourism: The Office of Tourism is responsible mainly for brochures, information, and tourism campaigns for Atruria.

-HM Office of Vital Statistics: The Office of Vital Statistics is responsible for collecting statistics, censuses, surveys, and other such information.

-HM Office of Immigration: The Office of Immigration manages citizenship and naturalization affairs.

HM Ministry of Defense
The Ministry of Defense is responsible for maintaining the defense of the High Kingdom of Atruria. It manages military, intelligence, and paramilitary forces of Atruria.

-HM Office of Military: HM Office of Military, run by the Director of the Military, maintains the navy, air command, army, free legion, and foreign legion. The military is explained more in-depth later in this book.

-HM Office of General Inquisition: HM Office of General Inquisition is headed up by the Director of General Inquisition. General Inquisition is a federation of governmental agencies that work separately and together to conduct intelligence activities necessary to the foreign relations and national security of Atruria. Members of the Office of General Inquisition are as follows:

-Global Intelligence Agency:
The Global Intelligence Agency is responsible for collecting intelligence integral to the security and functions of Atruria, abroad.

-Domestic Information Agency:
The Domestic Information Agency is responsible for gathering intelligence and information within Atruria.

-Royal Geospatial Bureau:
The Royal Geospatial Bureau provides timely, relevant, and accurate geospatial intelligence through the exploitation and analysis of geospatial intelligence and imagery.

-Royal Cryptology Agency:
As the Office of General Inquisition's cryptologic organization, the RCA coordinates, directs, and performs highly specialized activities to produce foreign intelligence information and protect Atrurian information systems.

-Royal Counter Terrorist Unit:
The RCTU is an organization responsible for counter-terrorist activities within Atruria.

-Health Intelligence Services:
Health Intelligence Services, Or HIS, are the intelligence body dedicated to foiling all biological or health-related threats, attacks, etc. on Atrurian and allied soil.

-Royal Special Operations Service:
The RSOS, or Royal Special Operations Service, is responsible for handling counterintelligence and special activities in the interest of Atruria.

-Intelligence Security Service:
The Intelligence Security Service, ISS, is General Inquisition's paramilitary unit. The ISS, who oftentimes find themselves working in close proximity to the RSOS, are responsible for special activities that are in the interests of Atruria and its allies.

-Bureau of Financial Intelligence:
The Bureau of Financial Intelligence functions with the aims of safeguarding Atruria's financial system against illegal use and exploitation and combating rogue nations, money launderers, harborers of terrorists, etc.

-International Inquisition Liaison:
The IIL, International Inquisition Liaison is responsible for liaising between the Office of General Inquisition and foreign governments, agencies, and other bodies.

-Inter-Agency Inquisition Liaison:
The Interagency Inquisition Liaison, commonly referred to as the IAIL, is an agency responsible for maintaining contact and liaising with other bodies of Atruria's government.

HM Ministry of Energy
The Ministry of Energy is responsible for ensuring Atruria's energy, power, and power systems maintain.

HM Ministry of Agriculture
The Ministry of Agriculture's aim is to monitor, maintain, and subsidize Atrurian agriculture.

HM Ministry of Urban Development
The Ministry of Urban Development is the organization that maintains and monitors housing and urban development.

HM Ministry of Justice
The Ministry of Justice is responsible for maintaining all law and police related activites.

-HM Office of the Court: The Office of the Court is the governmental branch that maintains the courts throughout Atruria.

-HM Office of Law: The Office of Law is the governmental branch that certifies and monitors lawyers of Atruria.

-HM Office of Policial Affairs: The Office of Policial Affairs is responsible for maintaining law and order within Atruria.

HM Ministry of Education
The Ministry of Education's main responsibilities include educating Atruria's children and students, managing public schools and higher education, and monitoring private education to ensure that it achieves at least certain standards.

HM Ministry of Trade & Commerce
The Ministry of Trade & Commerce is responsible for calculating for and stimulating the Atrurian economy. The Ministry of Trade & Commerce is also responsible for patenting and copyrighting within Atruria.

HM Ministry of the Treasury
The Ministry of the Treasury is responsible for governmental accounting and budget work, as well as tax collection.

HM Ministry of Transportation
The Ministry of Transportation is responsible for maintaining all public airports, seaports, heliports, highways, roads, railroads and other means of transportation.

HM Ministry of the Interior

HM Ministry of Health & Sport
The Ministry of Health & Sport has two main responsibilities, respectively, health and sport.

-HM Office of Sport: The Office of Sport is responsible for coordinating with national and international sports leagues and organizations.

-HM Office of Hospitals: The Office of Hospitals is responsible for running all public clinics and hospitals within Atruria.

-HM Office of Human Services: The Office of Human Services is responsible for maintaining all other areas of the Ministry.

The flag of Atruria, adopted in 1845, was created by Jahn O'Bannon, a professional artist. The Sun in the upper right-hand corner signifies the immortality and dvinity of Atruria. The wild stallion stands for freedom, pride, honor, and is now also commonly associated with Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure.

Royal Standard

The Royal Standard is the personal standard of HM, the High King and the other members of the Royal House.

National Colors
The national colors of Atruria are white, signifying pride and honor; yellow, signifying the divine nature of Atruria; and black, demonstrating the mix of ethnicities and races in Atruria.
