Emperor Announes Plans For Reform
Durenhall, DH, Atruria - Early this morning, HIM, Emperor Charles Lothar held a televised statement on the national government channel. Subsequently, tapes were forwarded to all major national and international news broadcasters and stations in the Empire of Atruria. On said tapes, the Emperor announced his plans for extensive reforms. The first of these reforms is to create a constitution, outlining what he may and may not do as a monarch and outlining the divisions of the government. An unnamed high-ranking official in the Imperial Department of Internal Affairs, the final drafted version of this constitution is almost complete. In the next step, it will have to be ratified by the Emperor; His Holiness, Tarkan II, the supreme pontiff of the Atrurian Catholic Church; His Holiness, Romanus I, Patriarch of the Atrurian Orthodox Church, and Nobutaka Hirotoda, the High Priest of the Atorurokami faith. Also, explained in detail in the constitution, an elected legislative body that has the power to rescind any of the King's edicts and create its own laws will be formed. Also, in relation to the recent union with Yallak, the Emperor has chosen to make some changes within the Empire. Both Lord Balor and Emperor Lothar bear similar titles, each including the title of Emperor. In order to avoid confusion, Emperor Charles has issued an edict stating that he shall revert to the ancient title of his house, that of High King. Due to this, the official name of Atruria will be changed to the High Kingdom of Atruria. With name changes comes one for the capitol, also reverting back to its ancient name, that of Durenhall, We will follow the story of reforms in detail and keep you posted when new advances in said story occur.[]
