The scientists on the ground waited patiently for the signal to mark the completion of Eyria's commercial spacefarer terminal. Sure, sending flights up immediately would be sending the masses to an unfinished destination (indeed, the artificial gravity system hadn't yet been implemented), but people had expressed gullible interest in the area. There was a small array of discontinued spacefarer models available to transport them, and plenty of names on the waiting list, so when the skies flashed with the light emitter's inaugeral system (which to people below was just another tiny star in the system) the civilian flight service was a done deal.
