If you can simplify the rp element of this game for me it would be greately appreciated
You should try reading the stickies, they're on the top of the forum with the prefix "Sticky:"... impossible to miss.
That's a good way to learn about RPing, and it doesn't get much simpler than that. (That, and I'm just too lazy to summarize everything for you. :p)

Think of it as writing a story; details can create immersion, and unless you want to get into character RP, immersion ftw.

Just pretend you're a nation. Say "we" when talking about your nation, and "I" when talking about your personal thoughts (as a leader of the nation).
Make up whatever you want about your nation and name some characters in your government or community.
See how your daily issues are written as if they are about real people? Its all pretend. Just play Let's BeTend. Have fun with it. be creative.
