In the days of the Kaiser a newspaper with the uneventful name of "The Independent" began. Like most papers of the time and during WWI they spoke nothing of praise for the incompetent and ruthless of Kaiser Wilhelm II. Following WWI and the harsh restrictions Germany under went a civil war which almost split the country in to. It was quelled and again by 1938 the Treaty of Versailles, the Armistice for 20 Years, was done. Adolf Hitler and the far left Nazi Party swept Germany and then by 1939 ful war erupted. The paper condemned the actions of the Fuhrer but was hastily silenced by the Gestapo. In the war the paper was put under new management and become Himmler's pet project which he used to spread propaganda as a un-biased party. But the Third Reich ended not even 10 years later but once again left Germany dead in it's own rubble. After only a few months in printing Das Unabhängige was once again silenced by the Russian Political Police. Instead of laying down dead the paper moved over to West Germany where they helped NATO by printing Russian Bashing and pro-NATO columns. This may or may not have helped but by Oct. 3, 1990 Kohl and his party helped the Re-Unification of Germany under West Germany's Constitution. Now in the age of the EU the paper turned to economics and world events and quickly swallowed up the papers of it's kind until only it and two other main competitors where left. 2001 - Germany now defunct for trying to keep nationalized East German companies is slowly re-building it's economic might but world-wide recession forces the economy to the wall.
2003 - Germany and Austria make defensive packs and multiple economic deals as the WTO loses steam with Asian 3rd World countries.
2004 - The European Union welcome's ten new countries; Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia.
2005 - Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland make their own economic organization labeled TETA (The European Trade Association).
2005 - Croatia and Turkey begin membership negotiations for EU Membership.
2005- Angela Merkel assumes the Chancellorship of Germany.
Jan 1st,2006 - In an special election Angela Merkel is removed from Chancellorship for voter fraud.
Oct 1st,2006 - Chancellor Maxen von Bismarck, a upstart wins the position promoting honor over money with the Prussian Political Party.
2007 - Croatia is accepted in a semi membership but Turkey negotiations continue.
2007 - Bulgaria and Romania are accepted into the UN.
2008 - Cure for the bird flu in Venice found on accident by an AIDs researcher which sparks major tensions in Germany and EU.
2008 - Germany retakes the third most powerful economy position.
2008 - TETA becomes more militarized with HOT (Hunnic Offensive Treaty) which insures any TETA Member the aid of the other members.
2009 - Germany rebuilds the UN Security Council with massive amounts of German Divisions being used in a "UN Core Army" which has the latest war in the Balkans at the top of the list.
2010 - Chancellor Shifflett orders fleets to blockade every former Yugoslavia country in a escalating racial war.
2010 - TETA Members pledge ever increasing arms to the Slavic Balkan nations and promises military aid to any nation threatened by Italy but nothing seems to come out of it.
