Panthean confederacy to once again become a colonial empire


Dateline-(Kersk, Panthean Confederation)- In an unexpected move the Panthean president for life is going to announce his intentions to once again make Pantheaa a colonial empire. We go live to President Vassili Zeitsev’s speech

“Greetings Panthean Citizens. It must of least been 3 years ago when former President Serji Yuger set out to build his empire all over the world. The Panthean confederacy set out ships all over the world to colonize various islands in an effort to expand our trade influence and build the Panthean navy. Back then we were just a fly on the worlds wall. Back then we only had Slovakia as our home. And with tensions and problems growing in Europe. We were doomed to be crush like an insect. But thanks to the brave leaders of our past we managed to survive and prosper. We built an empire from the ground up and now represent a major world power on the world’s stage. All the demons in hell could stop the will of the Panthean people. And all the world’s leaders couldn’t crush the Panthean soul”

“Now with my discretion and the parliament’s blessing. Panthean in this new age of man, Is once again journeying to the edge of the earth. To find new islands to once again call our own. These islands will serve as a refuge in a time of war and a trade outpost in times of peace. With these islands we can ensure the survival of the Panthean empire and protect ourselves from the savage imperialistic brutes.”

“I’ve had a vision from the god almighty himself. That the islands of Montserrat…Jersey and Moyotte are destined to join the Peoples confederation of Pantheaa!”

“I ensure you citizens that this is not imperialism!! For from it. These islands are uninhabited and ripe for the taken. Our presence in these areas will bring civilization to a world that has not yet see the progress of the human sprit. As the great political philosopher John Locke once preached when something is untouched in nature..it is yours for the taking.”

The intelligence analysts looked at the speech and shrugged. If the Pantheans really intended to attack the Channel Island of Jersey, they would have to invade either North Germania, something which automatically dragged the Kingdom into the conflict, or Hawdawg, who the Kingdom would be happy to help in case they needed it. The same applied if they attacked Montserrat. And if they were serious about invading Mayotte, they would definately attack the October Alliance. Either way, it was almost certain that the Kingdom would have to get physical with the Pantheans. With that, the NSM (Nasjonal Sikkerhetsmyndighet) sent a intelligence brief to the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Defense, informing them of the conclusions. If Pantheaa was willing to attack Hawdawg or North Germania, they could be willing to attack the Kingdom.

Two hours later, eight LGM-209A Ewos ICBMs hidden somewhere in Norways mountains were reprogrammed to attack targets in Pantheaa if it came to nuclear war. Aircraft and ships were also discreetly prepared to assist the Hawdawgians and/or Germanians in case they needed help. For any outsiders, the preperations looked only like normal maintenance, when it in fact was preperations for defending themselves. The next move was up to the Pantheans...

Somewhere in Cape Verde

The Fuhrer strolled about the vast complex that looked, from the outside, like a sort of country house, set deep within the countryside of a small island in the chain.

By foot it was virtually inaccesable due to the strange layout of the island. But by helicopter it was an easy trip.

The military used part of the building as an Intelligence Command Post, until such a time as they could move it elsewhere.

The Fuhrer's quarters were in a separate part of the building but he had been summoned there for a Morning briefing.

It seemed that Pantheaa were intending to invade islands belonging to the TOA. This wasn't good, at first glance, especially since the Norwegians were already making small preparations for war. However, the Intelligence Officers had been poring over reports and speaking to the North Germanians the entire morning, from the small hours onwards.

It appeared that the President For Life made a mention of the supposed 'fact' that the islands were uninhabited. It appears this is not the case.

The Hirgizstanian Commonwealth, a bourgeoning colonial power itself, would stand and support the TOA by any and all means possible, the Fuhrer was sure of this. But as he read the various reports it seemed there had been crossed wires.

The Pantheaans seemingly made an intelligence error in thinking the islands were uninhabited. The Fuhrer wished to leave the situation alone, to wait and see what the North Germians would do.

As the telefax spewed data, Prime Minister Wales prepared to make a statement.

PM Wales: "What have we heard from the Norwegian's? Anything? What about North Germania?"

Defense Minister Wells: "The Norwegian Intellegence Agency sent a brief earlier sir, we have assurances from the King himself they will assist us should we need it. I have put the Atlantic Fleet on standby and we have increased our survelliance flights over the channel area. We are currently looking for the Pantheaa Fleet. Our satellites have been retasked and are looking at troop formations, military targets of interest, etc. in Pantheaa. Raw data should be available to our analysts within the hour. The Littoral Patrol Group in Gibraltar put twelve Tennessee Class Submarines to sea this morning to take up station off of the islands sir."

PM Wales: "Very well, make the necessary preparations for war, but do so quietly. I have a press conference to make."

PM Wales: "Good evening fellow Hawdawgians. Recent International developments have prompted me to bring a message to the people. Earlier today the President of Pantheaa declared that islands in the English Channel are uninhabited and therefore could be claimed. This is an unjust act of imperialism and must not go unchecked. We will monitor the situation over the coming days. We stand vigilant and ready to defend our territory should that need arise. May God Bless the Republic, Good Night."
