There was a thread - I looked in the stickies but couldnt find it - where someone was giving an overview of real world militaries and then suggestions on what a NS military based off each would be like.

Anyone know what I'm talking about? I can't find it and search function has gone extinct thanks to Jolt's lack of forum environmentalism.

It looked useful when I first read it, but I had no use for it. Now I do... any clues?

For a more in depth study of the American Military establishment Tom Clancy has a series of Non fiction that goes into depth about basic structure of America's various military branches
Navy: Carrier
Army: Armored Cav, Airborne
Marines: Marine
Airforce: Fighter Wing
USSCOCOM: Special Forces, Shadow Warriors

I've found them to be invaluable assets to structuring my NS forces as wella s designing several of my military machines.

Hm, you could be talking about this one (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=297064) with Clan Smoke Jaguar?

It has some information on what real-world militaries use and CSJ's opinion on the disposition and general state of said militaries, and what basic qualities an NS nation would need in order to copy them. Also some stuff on economies and so forth.
