Also you mention nothing of its construct non did you tell us what it looks like, or any real life support system back up just in case.... ANd does this ship have escape pods- enough for the entire crew?

70?! Damn, boy, how'd you come up with that many names?

I don't know, sharks with frickin' lazerbeams attatched to their heads? I don't know, people, throw me a bone here.

But, yeah. Thanks for pointing that out. I'll get on it.

The entire Pananab fleet contains 70 ships designed for combat and about 520 non-combat ships with minimal combat ability with large amounts of people in them.

Yeah, I need to edit a couple posts. Maybe after I get some answers.

Because my entire population are packed in all of these ships, would would you reccomend for my Civilian and Military fleet sizes? Note that all of my ships have some combat ability and my Military ships have many Civilians as well as military personell on them.

Organization-
Pananab Nomadic Fleet: The entire nation of Pananab. A large group of criminals, mercenaries, runaways, scoundrels, deserters, and general riffraff trying to live in tight spaces together.
General-Admiral: Commander of the entire Pananab fleet.
Currently: General Towes.

Demi-Fleet: Half of the Pananab Fleet. Split in times that large portions are needed in 2 or more places.
Demi-Admirals: General-Admiral Stowes (Acts as Demi-Admiral of Fleet 1)
Demi-Admiral Zheng AoLi (Fleet 2)

Quad-Fleet: 1/4 of the Pananab Fleet. If you spot part of teh Pananab FLeet you usually find a Quad-Fleet, which are split up even further.
Quad-Admirals noted in RPs: Quad-Admiral Udreth Philleph

Bi-Fleet: 1/8 of the Pananab Fleet, they are split to do certain missions where large numbers are not required. Usually tasked with simple and safer missions such as extended exploration and light military operations.
Bi-Admiral noted: Bi-Admiral Carl Evil
Bi Admiral Tur'ah Ku

Task Force: Task Forces are even smaller groups of 2-3 ships on individual missions, usually with getting something done in the midst of battle. Led by a selected Task Force Captain, nominated by an Admiral of the immediate command.

(OOC: Heh, I've got a piece of paper with 150+.

Regarding the factbook, I really hope there's more going into this?

So far, the ship looks pretty nice, but I'm afraid there's not much else to comment on.)

OOC: I'd like to say I could help, seeing as I designed my own tech, but I just suck at helping people along.

I'd say that you should just start simple. Say you have a ship. Then want the ship to be powered by those ultraimpulse engines. Just post somewhere, preferably some sort of tech thread, or here in this factbook that outlines what it does, what it's comparable to, and generally what its capabilities are.

Like, Ultraimpulse engines
Uses really big nuclear explosions to make thrust, acts like the impulse engines on a fighter, can help even regular craft fly like a fighter...etc. Figure out some right numbers, and voila, you should have some acceptable tech.

It's those numbers that get me. Besides, each ship is different, each coming from a different place with a different crew.

No one will expect that you get any numbers exactly right. In my opinion, you should find some reference numbers. Say if you wanted to make a power system, find the number for the amount of power a nuclear power plant makes, or the sun produces, then fit in your number accordingly.

You should TG a nation named Xessmithia for a list of what units to use for things. Watts for weapons, joules for power etc. Or something to that extent.

I technically just have numbers for things like ship size. Anything more specific, and people will rarely ever read it through anyway.

Case in point is my ship spec format. Here's the link:

http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=10080506

You'll notice it doesn't get terribly technical. Comparative descriptions, imo are the best way to give people a good idea of what you're making.

...Now my head hurts...

Okay, because the fleet is so varied, I can't really group them. But, how many people would you say each ship should have?
Large: Like the Panrabia (300 km x 250 km x 5 km)
Medium: 150 km x 125 km x 2.5 km
Small: 75 km x 62.5 km x 2.5 km

More like huge Cargo ships, actually.

Well, I must say, they are really , really big. Even my most massive ship, which I only have around 10 out of some 10,000 ships (Half are logistics and supply.) is only 25.2 KM long.

Oh well, in the case of your freakishly large ships, and the assumed role of big cargo ships, then probably something in the order of 5,000-10,000.

This is just my strange opinion however, and should in no way be assumed to be "correct" or absolutely the max or min.

Like I said, I have no experience on designing ships like this. How big are your largest cargo ships?
Pananab

While the Pananab Fleet is very mixed, they are similar enough to categorize by sections and subsections.

Combat Ships-Ships that do most of the fighting, they consist of a lot of miltary personell and civilians. All civilians are to help out during combat in whatever way possible.
Civilian Ships-These ships are more lightely armed than Combat ships and have more Civilians than Military, but nonetheless they have them.

Military Large: Huge Military ships that were once Capital or other large ships. Most of them are Civilian ships, lacking most of their weapons, but the Pananab has 3 of them in Combat Service as the leaders of the Quad Fleets.
Ex classes: Dreadnaughts
Numbers: 63 military
103 Civilian

Military Medium: The average ship you'd find, they take up the bulk of Pananab Military Fleet.
Numbers: 5,660 military
1,526 Civilian

Light Military: They do a lot of the fighting and have very small crews. Usually Recon or Science ships.
Numbers: 1,359 Military
1,123 Civilian

Large Cargo: Massive Cargo ships, many of them refitted for Military purpose. The alrgest of them, the Panrabia, is almost a Planetoid and holding almsot a million people.
Numbers: 72 Military
169 Civilian

Medium Cargo: Average-sized Cargo ships that are used mostly for Civilian use. They are usually lightly armed, but they are in the Pananab Military Fleet.
Numbers: 1,049 Military
1,100 Civilian

Light Cargo: Small Cargo ships that were used by small, private busnesses at one point. Holds most of the Pananab Civilians.
Numbers: 1,651 Military
12,689 Civilian

Total Number of Pananab Ships: 26,564 ships
# of Military Ships: 9,854 Ships
# of Civilian Ships: 16,710 Ships

Is this acceptable?

OOC This might not be the place for this but I can hardly think of a better time to bring it up. Sorry if any of the facts are wrong but it's been a while.

IC-

While looking through old Waldenburg Imperial finacial accounts it is discovered that a 5 Billion dollar IOU was taken out with us to pay for squadrons of MIG-42 fighters and attack helicopters. Now so many years have passed since this document was made to the Panabian government around the time of General Stowes, but we expect you to honor it. Full payment will be made or actions shall be taken against Pananab.

The Pananab Government denies any such purchase by the Pananab government or the Military. The Pananab government is not responsible for the debts, assets, and affairs of its citizens before their joining of the Pananab fleets, both Civilian and Military. If General-Admiral Stowes made such a purchase before his joining of the Fleet, that is his business, but careful examination of General Stowes's history has proven that he ahs made no such purpose.

OOC: Technically you can't make that claim, as it was never RPed. I never bought your ships, but it's interesting enough that I'll bite. Teh FLeet is full of criminals. Some of the highest ranking officers are criminals. One of teh Quad-Admirals is a mass murderer.

A description of the 4 General Stowes-
General Stowes (PT, not used yet. 200-296 BC)-The son of a successful Pananabian Merchant who often traded with the Egyptians, Stowes traveled to Rome for the first time during the Second Punic War. Stowes fled from his father and enlisted in the Roman Army and rose to the rank of General. As the Romans continued their military operations, Stowes discovered plans to invade his homeland. Stowes fled Rome and began to train the Pananab state into an Elite Fighting Force with the aid of sympathetic Roman military figures and the help of Rome's enemies. When the Romans did invade, General Stowes led the Pananab state to victory and became the Dictator of the Pananab State. Rome and Pananab flourished together until about 2nd century AD when the Pananab Empire collapsed for unknown reasons. General Stowes lived to be a ripe 96 years of age. He was honorable and loyal to the Pananab and Roman states. He was a considerate and wise man, usually finding some sort of comprimise between two quarreling parties.

General Stowes (MT, 1932-2007)-The son of an American and Afghan couple, General Stowes lived most of his life in Afghanistan. he enlisted in the Army and was trained by the best military minds of the Cold War after he joined a Mercenary band and was captured. Alexander Stowes fought alonside the Taliban and Al-Queda in teh Soviet Invasion and split to form Alternative Means, which participated in every conflict of the world since the end of teh Soviet Invasion. They moved into Pananab and settled, successfully fighting off the Pudite army from Pananab. General Stowes died of lung cancer in 2007.

General Stowes (MT, not introduced, 1971-)-Alexander Stowes' son, Achbar Stowes was hidden from the public view. His father taught him everything he knew and Achbar led many successful battles for Alternative Means. Achbar was out of Pananab during the Independence war, receiving a formal education in Japan. Achbar went to his father's adopted home with a large military task force and stabilized the nation by disposing of the Legislative branch and killing General Zheng in a short military coup. (Not RPed)

General Stowes (FT, 2432-)-The descendant of the Stowian bloodline, Ahmad Stowes was grown from a bad beginning, ebing bron in a violent slum to a drug whore. Ahmad was born addicted and was thought to be doomed to a bad life, when he joined the Army at 16. By 19 he joined Military Mercs, Inc. and rose in teh ranks quickly, achieving Colnel by age 25. By age 41 he killed the General-Admiral of the fledgling and unofficial Pananab Fleet and established the Nomadic Fleets of Pananab. Stowes comes across as an honorable and kind man at first glance who cares for his people, but is really an ambitious, manipulative, dictator who wants to rule the Pananab Empire with a fist. As time goes on and he is the ruler, his mind has softened at the face of capture and torture by forces greater than himself.
