EXPECTNANT: Familia Jesus Cheves

Citizen 1 Billion coming soon in the GDCE!
Events are under planning for citizen 1 billion, expected to be born within a few days. The expectant family is the Cheves familiy, an inner city extended family in Melaias, the capitol of the GDCE. The expectant mother, Julia Cheves, 5'7" and already a mother of 3, says she is hoping that the child, who's gender is not yet known, will be her gateway to salvation. "We barely get provided service here, we are under threat of crime almost daily, and local politicians seem not to care. They think that the income and school system here will solve everything. But hopefully my child will draw attention to this."
The Cheves family, housing currently in an apartment along Carle Place (part of the parade route), would not be the first to use a child for political reasons - citizen 500 Million, Andrea Alverez, herself now an activist, was used by her family to attract political attention to the plight of crop farmers in the islands of Tena and Tuares, where both mining and industrial soybean farming were in position to doom food agriculture. "We were being driven from our lands by these giant companies, they were only around to make a quick buck; we were here to farm food for the community and ourselves. If I wasn't born, we might still have drove out food agriculture for good here," Andrea explained. "We'd be having food shortages due to fluctuating international market prices. We would never be able to support the near doubling of the average annual income."
The child is more likely to be famous for being number 1 000 000 000, not for saving the future of countless others. Many companies and colleges have already begun offering positions and scholarships. Airlines have already offered free lifetime flight to the child; some even to the entire family. "It's actually ridiculous what we've gotten. Offers for free flights - to places we might never go - free tire changes for life on the child's car, free home heating oil - we don't use oil - the list goes on. People think it's more a PR thing," said father Jesus Cheves, while reading some of his mail. "They don't take it seriously. But they should. There are going to be more kids; they need some of these more than our child will."
Events to celebrate, such as the federally & island backed parades in Melaias, the climbing of Mt. Melanis, school closures, even a ploy to make snow in Guera, all have recieved acclaim. The Federally backed parade going through the capitol will feature the entire Twin Crescent Racing team, runners up in the Forumla 1 Grand Prix championship; emperor Carlos Petron and wife Jennifer, and various other dignitaries. Schools are expected to close, despite the upcomming Island games, Compass Games and National Championships for football, soccer, and volleyball.
The time is come - Football Island Games
For nearly 18 weeks, and 14 games, these boys - Chaminade, Marguirite, Athena, Monticello - all played for one thing - to reach the guilded platinum cup of the National Trophy - the best high school team in all the Candrian Empire. 14 matches, and it's up to three more weeks. And for the first time in over 8 years, every team entering the Island games is undefeated.
