The Sociology of Potty 5
The nation of Potty 5 is vast geographically. Though the country is huge, most of the land is not suitable for development. The tertian is extremely mountainous, riddled with countless streams and rivers, and covered with thick jungles and swamps. There are not really any seasonal weather differences; the country has very high temperatures and humid all year round. The rainfall is high enough to put the nation into the category of a rainforest. The eastern boarder of the country has a coast that is just like much of the rest of the land: wet, hot, humid, mountainous jungle.
Most of the populace lives in villages but a large and growing portion live in cities. The cities are just as modern as any other city in the world with any thing that a person could imagine. The capital and largest city, Monkey 13 City, has 4 large, modern airports. Monkey 13 City is also home to the Imperial City a smaller section that is walled off from the rest of the city where only civil servants, military officials, royalty, and a select few guests are permitted. Other major eastern cities are G’rote, Monkyen, Chaz, Sven, Alex, Android, and Skot.
There are exceptions to the conditions of Potty 5 though. In the west are the Zork mountain ranges. These mountain ranges are among the highest in the world. The temperatures on the mountains drop, and approach arctic like conditions. The tops of the mountains are covered in snow, and the wind severity is great. Within the mountain range is an area, totally encircled by mountains, which contains an ancient sight of great cultural importance to Potty 5iens.
West of the mountains comes steppes then flat dry deserts. Out here there few people or animals live but there are the major costal cities of Chicken (in the south), and Tonkatsu (in the north). There is a major Potty 5 military base as well. Situated literally in the middle of nowhere, Mo military base serves a similar purpose as the American ‘Bone yards’.

Prostitution and pornography are very legal and mainstream in Potty 5. All citizens are expected to know three other languages fluently, and allegedly the emperor can speak over 100 languages fluently though if he makes up the pronunciation this could be suspect, though most modern linguistic scholars find the Emperor’s pronunciation but not story plausible.
One issue that most foreigners find unsettling is the government’s power to take any child under the age of 12 months and raise them as soldiers. These individuals do not have any freedom but there are no reports of one of these troops ever objecting, even when he learns of the freedoms of his fellow citizens. Even though this practice exists the government takes very few children. Estimates of the number of children taken range from a high of 3% to less then ½ of a percent. Rumors exist that there are soldier breeding facilities hidden in remote arias but such things are unsubstantiated.
There are also a great amount of positive government programs, which include free healthcare and education through graduate level for most of it citizens. With only those who have substantially higher then normal wealth having to pay for such things.
Families in Potty 5 are often very large. The children are expected to help support their parents once they start working. Children are considered adults at the age of 16, but must live with their parents unless their parents permit them to leave until they reach the age of 23. 1. Any foreign civilian vessel, aircraft, or vehicle that enters Potty 5 control waters is subject to all of the laws of Potty 5. Potty 5 reserves the right to search and seize any such vessel if it feels such actions are warranted. If at any time the vessel is instructed to act, it must full fill the request made by or on behalf of the Potty 5 government. Vessels that fail to comply with these regulations may be considered hostile and force may be used to stop or destroy such vessels. The Emperor Potty 5 may at any time make any exceptions to this rule he so wishes, and at any time may cancel any exceptions that he has made.
2. No foreign nuclear powered vessels, aircraft, vehicles, or any other mobile nuclear powered device shall be allowed in the territorial waters, airspace, or territory of Potty 5. In times of peace is such a vessel by accident happens upon Potty 5 controlled waters, it must turn back as soon as it is instructed or realizes that it is in Potty 5 controlled waters. Section 2: Issues regarding the use of weapon in warfare:
1. Potty 5 does not consider the use of nuclear power vessels, aircraft, vehicles, or weapons on territory (or sea) under the control of the government of Potty 5 to be acceptable in war, and consider this equal to the use of tactical or radiological weapons or ecological warfare. As such any nation that does so risks rapid escalation of the conflict.
2. Potty 5 believes it is within any countries right to defend itself with nuclear weapons, so long as the weapons are use within the territory of that nation and are at least 500 kilometers from any foreign territory. Over land only air-bursting nuclear weapons are considered acceptable. The yield of the bomb is not of concern. Both nuclear and thermonuclear weapons are acceptable, as are radiation enhanced ‘neutron’ bombs (but not 'cobalt' or similar types of nuclear bombs). The use of such weapons on another nation’s territory (including waters) is not to be permitted no matter the target or yield of the weapon. Potty 5 also believes that the use of nuclear weapons on ships in waters at least 500 kilometers from any territory not controlled by the government employing nuclear weapons, are acceptable when targeting point military targets in lengths that exceed 500m, or beams that exceed 80m (overall).
3. Potty 5 believes that the targeting of civilians, or civilian centers is with lethal weapons is strictly prohibited, unless a military target is in close proximity to such a civilian center and in which case every step to keep collateral damage to a minimum is taken. Individual civilians who take up arms and who are threatening (pose a threat) give up protection as civilians and may be engaged as military targets.
4. Potty 5 believes incendiary, and flame based weapons (WP and napalm) are acceptable weapons but for not as use as ecological weapons.
5. Potty 5 believes the use of any weapon in ecological warfare is prohibited. As is any use of ‘lethal’ chemical weapons, and any use of biological weapons.
6. Potty 5 believes the only chemical weapons that are to be permitted in military use, other then incendiary munitions that happen to have properties of chemical weapons (such as WP), are CS tear gas, and OC pepper spray (though it need not be deployed as a spray).
7. Potty 5 believes herbicides and defoliants are not to be used. The use of pesticides and insecticides is limited to that of the individual level to protect oneself from insects, large scale spraying is prohibited.
8. If these rules are followed in conflicts involving Potty 5, Potty 5 will not escalate the conflict above the levels mentioned here.
Section 3: Development, testing, maintaining, manufacturing, and stockpiling of weapons.
1. Potty 5 believes that it is every nation’s right to develop, test, maintain, manufacture, and stockpile long range missile systems such as intercontinental range ballistic and cruise missile (ICBM, ICCM) as well as fractional orbital bombardment systems (FOBS).
2. Potty 5 believes that it is every nation’s right to develop, test, maintain, manufacture, and stockpile nuclear weapons. Both of the pure fission bomb, thermonuclear bomb, and radiation enhanced ‘neutron’ bombs.
3. Potty 5 believes that it is every nation’s right to develop, test, maintain, manufacture, and stockpile chemical and biological weapons of all types but would never endorse the use of most of these weapons (See part 2 subparts 4 and 6).
4. Potty 5 does not believe in the development, testing, maintaining, manufacturing, and stockpiling of radiological weapons of the non-nuclear bomb type. These are often known as ‘dirty bombs’ or radiological dispersion devices. Due to the relative inefficiency of such weapons and the little to no military value Potty 5 does not consider conflict over this issue to be warranted but our dislike of such weapon we wish to be known.
The Scope of Potty 5's Waters:
Potty 5 considers its Territorial Waters to extend to 200km from its coast (just under 108 nautical miles).
Potty 5 considers its Contiguous Zone to extend a further 300km.
