After 200 years of war, Charros was a hunk of smoldering rock. The Illuminati were dead, the Templars were dead, even the god like AI construct-Helios-was dead. No plants, no animals. Nothing. Ruined cities stood like cyclopian monoliths of a long gone race. The world was a desert, that glowed with radiation. On one side of the planet, a huge chunk of crust had been blown out by a hydrium-unranium fusion bomb, it's cloud still floating like a mushroom kingdom. All true life was dead.

But, life of a diffrent kind still existed.

The Omar are a large group of heavily biomodified cyborgs. They originated in a country called Slatonia, where a group of Slatonian scientists submitted themselves to radical biomodification in an attempt to survive the harsh global conditions following the Great Collapse(The complete downfall of the world government). In the 20 years after the Collapse, the Omar spread around the globe, their heavily biomodified bodies earning hatred from the Templars(Group who wished to destroy all bio-modified individuals) and fear from others. The Omar are not individuals, rather each Omar is part of a merged collective consciousness, achieved through replacement of their frontal lobes with a wireless cortical interface. Thus, if an Omar is killed, then all Omar will know about it and will seek revenge upon the perpatrator. The Omar expanded their ranks through covert recruitment of unmodified humans. It is unclear how voluntary this "recruitment" normally was. The Omar are constantly in search of new technologies to improve their existing cybernetic modifications. Their ultimate goal was to become capable of surviving in any environment, no matter how harsh, so that they would eventually inherit the Earth through Darwinian natural selection. Like the Illuminati and Templars, the Omar were opposed to J.C. Denton's proposed "Great Advance" (which would biomodify all of humanity and make the Omar collective obsolete), however they lacked the resources to actually mount an opposition to Denton and ApostleCorp(Denton's front corporation).

To finance themselves, the Omar quickly found a niche dealing in black market biomods and weapon mods. They rapidly dominated the field, often by aggressively squeezing out their competition whenever they moved into a new area (either through assassination or assimilation). Because the Omar were hunted by the WTO(World Trade Organization) and Templars, they often used human agents as fronts and intermediaries while conducting their business. However, the Omar also sold their wares directly, normally in areas outside WTO control (such as ghettos, VIP lounges, and altogether "shady" areas). There were many Omar Traders all over the world. They were almost always accompanied by one or two Omar Protectors, combat-oriented Omar who acted as bodyguards for the Traders.

Currently, Omar biomodifications allow them to survive comfortably at a range of extreme temperatures, from sub-zero artic climates to harsh desert heat. They are also fire-proof, immune to chemical weapons, and resistant to radiation. They are essantially Neohumans. After years of collecting themselves, they formed a nation of sorts: The Omar Technosect of Candle Ice. It took even longer years, but finally they were ready to launch themselves into space in half living-half mechanical ships.

Ship spotted. Alien in nature. Course of action?
Intiate communication with alien beings.
The captain pushed a button, sending a transmission to the Xeno ship. He spoke in a sort of alien-robotic russian accent.
"Hello alien vessel. We come in peace. We request to begin communication with your people."

"Hello alien vessel. We come in peace. We request to begin communication with your people."

The signals officer aboard the Xeno Destroyer Leyte Gulf looked to his captain, ~M'am, we are recieving communications from an unknown ship. Bio scans are showing strange returns, but they are definetly intelligent. ~

Captain Marthe stood and paced down to the CIC in the bridge, examining the system's charts. "Very well, Ensign. Send a reply, identify ourselves and acknowledge the message. Establish goodwill."

~Aye aye m'am.~

To the unknown Omar vessel,
"Hail, unknown vessel. We are the Xeno, aboard the destroyer Leyte Gulf we are here in peace. You may begin transmission of communications when convient."

OOC: Okay, an exploration ship is on its way.
IC: Unknown Space
The F.S.S.S. Caexthric, a small explorer JumpShip, completed it's jump to an unknown system. It's Kearny-Fuchida drive at the peak of its expasion and beggining to contract as it jumped in. The Caexthric, meaning nosword in the staric tongue, was an old merchant JumpShip that had been volunteered as an explorer. It was unarmed, and its only defense came from a small group of Aerospace onboard. It's passengers consisted of the Aerospace pilots, ten or so scientists, and a crew of around twenty. As it jumped in, it transmitted a signal of peace, and diplomacy in both the Staric and Englich tongues.

2. Unknown: Repeating message of peace and diplomacy. Course of action?
Send both ships this message: "We request permission to board your ship, so further upfront communications can begin."
Understood. Anything else?
Be careful, hostility is natural to unmodified beings to modified.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Both ships were sent the same message:
We request permisson to board your ship, so further upfront communications can begin. Already two Omar were being prepared to have their atoms shrunk down to planeck size and transmittied onboard either ship. The transported would be unarmed, but the entire race would be listening in...

The signals officer looked up from his terminal, glossy black skull seeming to glisten under the clean ergonomic light of the bridge. ~M'am, a jumpship has entered the system. Possibly a Merchant class. I am not detecting dropships and they have not deployed their solar sail. They are sending a standard signal indicating peace. The first vessel is requesting permission to board.~

Captain Marthe clasped her hands behind her back and looked to a Marine standing near the door to the bridge. "Private, please go fetch Danae." The marine saluted, then disappeared down a corridor, tail twitching. "Return signal to the new contact, and inform the first vessel that we will send a shuttle over to pick up someone if they want to board for face-to-face discussions."

~Aye aye sir.~

To the jumpship,
"We acknowledge your message and also wish for peace. We are the Xeno."

To the Omar ship,
"If you wish to board us, we will send a shuttle to your vessel for pickup. We ask that your representitives bring along no nuclear or biological weaponry. We can scan for such things."

The transporter dispersied the Omar into space. At planeck size, he could freely change from matter and energy, and did so to get past any shields. At once he rematerialized on the bridge of the unknown alien's ship. Looking around, he was already describing to all others what he saw. Soon though he spoke, in a voice that was no doubt strange.
"I represent The Omar Technosect of Candle Ice. We are pleased with your quickness in welcoming us. Perhaps you can inform us about your race a little before we get down to business."
--------------------------------------
A ship? A ship? Do they suspect us of aggression?
It is impossible to understand their culture as of yet, so it is a possibility that we havge offended them.
Agree to their terms.

Omar vessel,
"That is acceptable. It is against our military regulations to allow for teleportations of any type to and from our starships."

As the Omar looked around he saw a mixed crew of humans and Dreegone. The dreegone were a draconic race, consiting of two subtypes. Elemental, of which their was very few on the ship, that looked like mini-dragons on two legs, and normal dreegone, that looked like humans with scales.
"Hello, we are from Starenell, a planet near the galaxys core. As you can see, we are a diverse people, consisting of humans and dreegone. Dreegone consist of two groups, Elemenatals," He pointed to one "And others, like myself. We are a warror peple, although we look for allies among all nations."

A large squid like shuttle shot out from the main Omar ship. It glided to the Xeno shuttle with a grace unknown to many. A psuedopod shot out and connected with the Xeno shuttle door. It sucked it off and held it in a stomach...somewhere. The atmosphere withen the Xeno shuttle was kept.

Four Omar walked aboard, unarmed. They gazed at the strange inhabitants of the ship, already wondering how their insides worked. One quickly spoke, to assure the inhabitants. "We mean no harm. Your door will be replaced, good as new. Now if you please, we must reach the bridge of your ship."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Omar was quite amazed by these draconic creatures. He voic almost faltered as he spoke. "These creatures are...amazing. I can only imagine thier bodily functions. Perhaps....perhaps I can procure a tissue scan, to further increase Omar surviabilty. Do they have any special abilities? I can assure you we can trade you for this service. I can deliever to you several nanite biomodification canisters, enabling non-piezochem capabilites."

Aboard the Xeno shuttle, there was a sudden, blaring alarm and the four Marines aboard bolted upright in their black armor, weapons coming to bear on the suddenly-missing door. The shuttle's co-pilot spoke into the comm system as the pilot started hitting control switches. "Emergency! The alien vessel has ripped off our starboard hatch! Initating evasive manuvers!" The shuttle applied full power, while an emergency blast shield came down over where the hatch had been. This is of course, the second the hatch was ripped free.

Two Marines onboard moved towards the blast shield and checked the seal, while another made sure the pilot compartment was safely sealed off. The Marines could survive zero atmosphere in their suits, but saw to it that the pilots were protected.

The shuttle continued to apply full power, while beginning an evasive roll to escape the grasp of the ocotopus.. thing.

Meanwhile, the Leyte Gulf rippled off an emergency signal to Solaris and the rest of the fleet while turning broadside towards the distant alien ship. On the shadow side (Side not facing the enemy) of the destroyer, bays opened to spill out F-1 fightercraft. An immediate warning was broadcast on an open transmission,

"Unknown shuttle you will release our ship immedietly or be destroyed. If your primary warship approaches any closer, it will be destroyed."

"An alliance? The Omar could agree to this, but it's purpose seems...unknown I-" The Omar stopped, aware of the distress emitted by his compatriots elsewhere. He turned in the general direction of the shuttle scanning the area. He turned back. "I would need you too elaborate on what benefits this would entail for the Omar."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Squid shuttle screamed in anger as it's psuedopods were being torn. It released, and kept it's distance from the Xeno ship. The occupants were a little more cool about the situation.
The alien shuttle has ripped away.
So far, everything on alien ship number 2 is fine. Is back up needed?
No, ship is fine.
Another offense we have enacted to these aliens. Anymore of this and we'll have a war. Issue a statement: We are sorry if we have offended you, as this is the way our ships work. We will take no agressive action, unless fired upon. Perhaps you would prefer if our transport came aboard your ship, in a docking bay?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The main Omar ship sent out the message.

The Xeno shuttle streaked back towards the Leyte Gulf while two squadrons of F-1s appeared to escort it, several of them drifting between the alien shuttle and the Xeno destroyer. Captain Marthe was at the CIC, "Ensign, report."

The shuttle pilot relayed, "Captain, we have sustained moderate damage to our starboard hatch ring, and have sealed the breach. Crew reports as unhurt, we are returning now." And the shuttle disappeared into the belly of the Xeno destroyer.

To the unknown alien ship,
"Explaining the attack against one of our shuttles as simply 'the way it works' is not sufficient. One does not damage the property of another without warning. You will maintain your distance and any attempts to come closer will be seen as an act of war. Whatever communications you have will be done via transmission."

Captain Marthe looked to her signals officer, ~M'am, Rear Admiral Miadoka wants to know if we need support and asks if the SeaQuestians are involved, and also to warn them.~ The Captain nodded the go-ahead.

To the Asimov
"This is the Leyte Gulf, we wish to warn you about this unknown race that is out there. They have damaged one of our shuttles, attempting to breach it and gain access. Please take this under advisement."

A second shuttle drifted out of the destroyer with an escort of four F-1s, heading to the Caexthric, where it will seek out a place to dock and collect whatever representitives that civilization wants to send.

It did not escape the Omar that this new ship, after sending a friendly communication, was readying her weapons. Shield activity was sighted, and the Omar began to ready themselves for combat. If need be they would warp into outer-dimensional space and return to Charros. From there they would commit to war. Still they sent this new alien craft a message.
We are the Omar Technosect of Candle Ice. We are interested in establishing communications with your people, although we ask that you modify your agressive actions. From there, we can share information more freely.

The Omar aboard the Starenell ship still seem confused. "I am unsure if you are implying that we cannot handle ourselves. In the war department we are fine, however trade would be very adequate. The Asimov is at Yellow Alert, this means that she is at a heightened state of readiness, (Red Alert is when the weapons are armed) and only the defensive systems are on-line, not the offensives. If the Omar aboard the Starenell ship could've smiled, he would have. "Biomodification allows a species to transcend it's biological limits. Flesh is weak. A biomod canister was beamed onboard and into the Omar's open hand. It was as big as a bottle of soda, and glowed an eeire purple. On the top of it was a large button. "Please, accept this as a token of our gratitude. It will augument your eyes with the ability to see both infared and nightvision at will. Simply put it up to your arm and press the button. A needle will shoot out and inject the nanites into your body, which will make their way to your eye. You can expect results in 4 seconds. This is permanent."

The Xeno destroyer Leyte Gulf continued to hang unmoving in space, one could almost feel fingers itching against triggers. In the shuttle hold, a service crew hurried out to meet those debarking, and once assured that everyone was OK, the shuttle would be quarantined and scanned. Detecting nothing abnormal, it would be taxi'd off to a repair bay in the shuttle hold for an overhaul.

Captain Marthe stood in the CIC, watching a holographic model of the system and the little information packets representing ships manuver. "Once they are clear of the system, resume nominal scanning." Commented to her first officer, who nodded. Marthe turned wearily and strode towards an exit, "And make sure we keep two squadrons of F-1s on standby. I need some bunk time," and she was gone, off to her quarters.
