Recent History:
After the fall of the Roman Empire many centuries ago, Genoa became a city-state much like the rest of Italy. It was a great trading hub on the Mediterranean Sea, second only to Venice. Around 900 A.D. Genoa was captured by the Holy Roman Empire and was ruled as a vassal state to the Holy Roman Emporerer. In 1091 Genoa is technically Independant but sill pays a slight Lipservice to the Holy Roman Empire.

After conversing with the Consuls, Bishop Danilo Romano had decided to launch the Genocian Fleet and a portion of the Army to the Island of Corsica. Corsica was an Important stop on Trade. Of course the force would be lead by Consul Károly Gernot. There was almost nothing that could stop besides a fleet from Sicily. Bishop Danilo Romano was almost certain that the Sicilians wouldn't be a problem cause of there assistance of the Croats in Hungary's Invasion of Croatia. The fleet was prepared and was ready to go. The Bishop gave the order to begin the Invasion.
