Cafenia

Bullets were whizzing by the whitewashed buildings on this bright, sunny, tropical day. On the island of Cafenia, the colonial viceroy looked out from his air-conditioned office. He saw below him his palace guards desperately firing their last Kalashnikov rounds at the oncoming mob of rebels.
"Viceroy," said his assistant as he burst into the room, out of breath. "We cannot hold out much longer."
"Get my chopper ready," the viceroy said. "Let's get out of here."
The viceroy and his assistant walked to the upper level of the palace, and boarded a helicopter. The rotor blades started turning, and soon the chopper was off. The last guards, seeing this, quickly surrendered.
Victorious throngs of rebels danced in the street with local civilians. Their leader, Raoul Gonzalez, quickly got up to the top of the palace, and adressed his supporters.
"Today, Cafenia has declared its independence. All five million of our citizens are now free! What a glorious day for our nation, my comrades!"
The supporters cheered. Gonzalez, now the President of Cafenia, took his position in the air conditioned office of the old viceroy.
A message was soon sent to the international community. The newly founded nation of Cafenia would is now free of imperialistic influence. Now, our nation seeks to rebuild itself. We need more powerful nations to provide aid for our development; our people are poor farmers who live in shacks without heathcare or food. We need weapons with which to defend ourselves; not much, just some good, cheap, and easy to maintain rifles, mortars, machine guns and anti-tank missiles, and some trucks. Perhaps even some tanks, aircraft, and small ships, but not that much; stuff that would be easy for our army to maintain. If you're nations are willing to provide that for us, our nation is perfectly able to provide cash crops. Most of our nation's farmers produce coffee, as our nation was originally a colonial coffee plantation, and we would be willing to provide coffee to industrialized nations for only fifty cents per pound.
Thank you for your time and understanding,
Raoul Gonzales
Presidente of Cafenia
