OOC:Two hundred fifty total Wu Tang

Two regiments of spearmen, ten men wide and five men deep. Spears are roughly twice as long as the goblins are tall, and they have small shields to inhibit ranged attacks, while leather armor cushions lighter injuries. Each man also carries a Medium size crossbow on his back.

One regiment of bowmen, twenty-five wide and two deep. Leather armor protects them without inhibiting their dexterity. They aim with the help of a lead goblin with a longspear that points where the bows should go, using experience with trial and error to figure where and when to fire.

Ten formations of squig riders, each with five riders. The squig riders are armed with scimitars for melee combat and shortbows for ranged fighting and raiding. The squigs have no barding, and the riders wear scale mail. Squigs are very fast (75 mph(Horses do 70)) and extemely viscious. They will bite.
Here, un-armed:http://us.games-workshop.com/games/warhammer/orcs/catalog/images/squighopper_group_large.gif

Ten formations of Goblin Wolf Chariot riders, each with five riders. The riders are armed with scimitars for melee combat and shortbows for ranged fighting and raiding. The wolves have no barding, and the riders wear scale mail. Each chariot is equipped with a Spear Chukka(Med. Ballista) and around 5 shots each.

The Wu Tang is the largest gang in the land. All are highly experianced in raiding, and as such are used to combat at breakneck speed. Commanders are almost non existant, as each group knows what to do.

IC role play post to come soon.

Two Pack gazed at the long plains before him, 7 miles from Acroix territory. The Klan had stopped for food, and the stickas(spearmen) had gone hunting. He gazed up at the Wu Tang flag and smiled a toothy grin. He was High Gangsta, Big boss of all Wu Tang activities. He oversaw all bussiness and even decided what the Klan would do. And recently buissiness had been bad. His artifact trade had been interuppted by these foul birds.

So, it was war. The entire Klan military had been mobolized, and was itching for a fight. He pulled a spyglass, taken from a centaur astronomer who had been helped by Two Pack to "pass on," and peered across the landscape. No sign of any patrols as of yet.
"Ay Boss!" Two Pack put away his spyglass and turned to his second in command, Big Fatty.
"Watcha got mate?"
"Wez gotsa meat and is startin ta cook."
"Watcha kill?" Big Fatty smiled.
"Don't know. It fly like bird, look like bird, but scream like baby gobbo."
"Dats da ticket! 'Ow many?"
"3. Not enough to 'eed us all no doubt! But it'll wip up deese boyz. Afa all, da onez dat don't get none will 'ight a little mo."
"Ha ha ha! Word!"

Two Pack went back to his spyglass and scanned the horizon. Right at the border he saw some Aracoix, most likely a patrol. "Ight boyz! Munchin's cancelled! We gotz birdies!" A cry of blood lust ran through the gangstas as they threw on their bandannas and made the Wu Tang hand symbol. It was unknown how many their were, so the entire army went. The chariots were leading, with the Squigs on the side of them. The chariots would stay moving at all times, and while the birds were busy with them, the archers would open fire. The birds that swept in to attack chariots would get hit by squigs, and the ones that swept in to attack the archers would face the spearmen.

The patrol, led by Kuru Stormcrow from the Stell Aiere, peered closely at the rather large host of goblins that were heading in their direction. Of course the patrol would not be able to engage a force that huge, but Stormcrow knew that he needed to slow this new danger before it got mcuh further. He called to his fastest flyer-a young female trooper named La Fay who was incredibly agile-to rush back to Aven and alert Lord Kirtar. The muster would have to be sounded before the goblins got any further.

As La Fay beat her wings and sped off into the distance, Stormcrow looked back at the ever-enroaching army of goblins. There must be over two hundred, he thought as he went over all the standard tactics in his mind. A direct assult would be death; something else would have to be done. He faced his troopers.

"We will swarm the enemy using a Sparrow-Hawk formation; try to stay out of range of the goblin bows and anything else they throw at us. No need to stick to the book here, fellows; stay in loose formation and make it rain arrows and javalin. If things get to rough, we'll attack using a piledriver, then fight in a circle formation."

The patrol, made up of thirty-five troopers, nodded and quickly got in formation. Diving against such a large foe using the Sparrow-Hawk formation was dangerous, but it would buy time and greatly annoy the goblins. The twenty 'Sparrows' suddenly dove as the fifteen 'Hawks' moved high over the heads of the goblins and began to lob spears. Goblin archers on the ground rose their bows and started shooting upwards, but these 'Hawks' were among the nimblest Aracoix in the group. Those arrows that did not fall short completely were easily avoided. The only real challange facing the 'Hawks' were the dangerous and deadly Bastill bolts that sped far up into the sky, easily killing anything they touched.

The 'Sparrows,' in the meantime, dove straight down and grazed the grass with their wingtips as they flew straight for the many rows of spearmen who were extended their weapons to face the charge. Instead of shooting their crossbows and flying above the spears to attack, the Aracoix instead broke off into two groups of ten, one going right and the other going left. Before the large group of spearmen could coordinate enough to turn in either directon, twenty arrows had already found their marks in goblin necks. As quickly as they had appeared, the Aracoix rose, reloaded, and dove again. As the goblin spearmen turn to the sides to clip the Aracoix's wings, the 'Sparrows' this time hit the goblins in the center with javalins and heavy spears, rising again, shooting their crossbows, and diving again.

This tactic went on for a while, thinning the numbers of the Goblins and infuriating them. Everything would have gone well had it not been for the deployment of the squig riders, who were agile enough to make it to wherever the Aracoix would attack next. Slowly, the Aracoix began to lose more and more men as they found themselves facing angry Squigs instead of confused spearmen. The 'Hawks,' while effectively keeping the archers busy, had been cut in half by Bastilla fire.

Stormcrow quickly noticed the rising casualties and signaled for his men to rise; the Aracoix paused to withdraw their swords and spears, then dove En Masse towards the center of the goblin line. It was suicide, they knew, but the patrol had at least bought time for Aven and the Aracoix army.

The Caex (Sword) lauth was flying aroun after hearing rumors that the Wu Tang were nearby. They were known for their love of melee weapons and their hatred of the Wu Tang Clan, after one member died. They are all extremely close, even Tekumu Nho, the newest member. Flying in one V shaped formation of three, and one dragon on either side of the V.

Two Pack looked around the battle field, and gazed upon many a dead good gangsta. He balled up his fist in anger. "Give em hell!" If only his troops could reach them. Thats when he saw the Aracoix prepare for a great dive. If his spearmen(at the front of the line now) were unprepared, they would die. but how to get the message to them? "Hiya!" He ordered the driver of his chariot to go as fast as possible to the lines. He wheeled around his Spear Chukka to face the oncoming enemy. "Stickas! Do what gobbos do best!"

Instantly, and not a second too soon, they dropped flat on the ground, holding their spears at an angle. The spears would be driven in by the Aracoix's own speed. Some would survive, as the flew at the right angle and broke the spears, but that would only be around 5. The sound of breaking armour and pierced flesh filled the air.

It was at this moment that a smell permeated the air. Only a person who has actually cut open another man would know what it is like, but it was quite sweet. Sweet enough to get the attention of the Squigs. At breakneck speed they raced to rip into the backs of the Aracoix while they were stunned. After all, most of the wounds were far from fatal. Heedless of their masters wishes, they plunged their huge teeth into the backs of nearly all the shiskabobbed birds. The splash of guts nearly blinded many of their riders.

A great roar, as best goblins can do, escaped from the air sucking throats of the victors. They had crushed the suicide dive, and now it was just mop up work. But the squig ridas were a little more hesitant. The squigs were getting a little too excited. Now they were getting the "haze." If a Squig gets too involved in it's killing, it starts to go crazy. It kicks off it's rider and goes to kill the enemy itself. Of course, if well trained the haze could be beneficial. And besides...thats what the straps were for.

The Aracoix hit the center of the Gobin line, but did not fare well. Spears and arrows tore into the mass of birdmen as they fought viciously to gain some ground. Eventually they made a gap in the spearmen large enough for the group to land on the ground and begin fighting hand-to-hand.

The Aracoix, pushed by desperation now, fought like gods against the mass of goblins that surrounded them. The Birdmen weilded their sabers and spears expertly, slicing many enemies in two. Even ferocity like this, however, cannot beat sheer numbers. The Aracoix began to dwindle as the goblins pressed on all sides, stabbing and cutting into the birdmen's loose line. The Aracoix, now only Nineteen in numbers, suddenly looked up as they heard a great beating of wings. As Stormcrow, who was bleeding from several deep wounds, looked into the sky, he saw the shadows of five very large and what looked like very irritated dragons.

"To the sky!" Cried Stormcrow. He didn't care if the Aracoix were not military allies with the Dragon race; they now needed all the help they could get. The remainder of the Aracoix patrol shot upwards ou of bow range to face the dragons.

"Do you come as friends or foes, mighty dragons?" Stormcrow called out as the dragons neared the Aracoix.

OOC: Okay. And anyways, these guys fight on the ground.
IC: The dragons smelt blood. Goblin blood. They landed and spread out, a group of two (The youngest and oldest), and three individuals. They stalked along like cats, smelling the air with their pointed tongues. They reached the goblins and got in a blast with their firey breath, then they moved in and got ready to rip Wu Tang to bits. One of the younger individuals, Kacdanimilya stayed in the air, shouting back to the Aracroix "We are friends"

"'Ell damn me!" Dragons! He shouted his orders. "Squig ridaz cover da shoota and sticka retreat!" As everyone knows, a goblin never has to be told twice to run. In fact there are seldom things faster in this world then a retreating goblin.

Rather then focus on the 20 plus goblins dead from fire alone, he focused on taking out his most hated enemy: Dragons. "Charioteerz! Crazy boar runnin! Letz git em!" The chariots sped off in the 80's. They would dart in and out, close and far, to the dragons. They would launch a spear deep into a dragon and then pull back. Dragons were far to large to compete with nearly 43 chariots slinging at breakneck speeds, launching spear after spear into the dragons.

The retreat would be succesfull, at least they hoped. The squid ridas would cover the retreat, shooting at anything that got too close. Although, in truth, if the fleeing 65 goblins(combined) were getting really whipped, they would break and run.

No matter how bad it was getting, the Wu Tang kept their heads. The chariots had fought dragons before, and knew they could outrun fire. The squigs had already gathered a visage of fear from Aracoix. They were sure that the birds had never faced anything like them before. All veterans of many raids, they were determined to win and pick clean the bodies of their enemies.

The dragons, attempting to slash and bite, had very little success. Eventually they tired, and began to use their tails and wings as weapons, flinging chariots when they were hit. Sometimes a dragon would slam a chariot to another dragon, who would bite the goblin in it. Combined they caused the chariots alot of pain, but htey were still nto able to get at the other goblins.

Stormcrow's eyes widened as he saw the terrible destruction that the Dragons were wreaking on the Goblin army, many of whom were retreating. The Goblin chariots were greatly annoying the Dragons, however. Stormcrow decided to put his men back into battle. However, only nine men, including Stormcrow, were still alive, all of them dazed by the Goblin tactics and the pain of that last dive. Nine was still a number, at least.

The Aracoix broke off into individual units and started sniping various goblin units while staying out of the way of arrows. Although the chariots were extremely fast, the Aracoix crossbows were aimed with the eyes of eagles. The nine remaining troopers blasted the steeds of many chariots and fleeing goblins and let the dragons do the rest.

So far the retreating forces were doing well, losing few along the way/ The chariots were a diffrent story.

Tails, claws, and arrows were wreaking havoc. Still, speed kept them alive. Some of the more...adrenaline addcited... were even playing games. They would run in front of a dragon, get him to dive for them, and collide with another. The dragons could do as much as they wanted, but the chariots were winning. Only Two Pack himself turned to fight the Aracoix, his aim best of all.

When the retreating forces were well out of range, the squig ridas raced back. They would level the playing field. Even as dragons tried to smash chariots, squigs launched themselves upon their backs, biting and digging with their feet. The chariots, seeing this, quickly began to shoot at least one spear into each dragon's wing. They would be grounded and much slower now. Plus 40 squigs biting 6 diffrent creatures backs was pretty good odds that you were screwed.

Three Aracoix fell dead from mighty arrows shot from what seemed to be the goblin leader; Stormcrow's eyes burned as the goblin retreated out of crossbow range. I'll get you later, he thought. He turned to view the ensuing battle between chariot and dragon; The Aracoix could not do much with such low numbers.

Stormcrow cried out to the dragons.

"We have stemmed the tides for now; let us fall back to my city of Aven and regroup; we can fly out again later to finish these creatures. These chariots are too fast for any of us do deal with effectively!"

"Victory! Victory! Victory! Victory!"
Goblins were running back as fast as they could to gather weapons and shoot down the wounded. Drums were being hit and celebrations were under way, even though they enemy had not gone even a mile away yet. But, with one whistle of Two Pack, they formed back into ranks. "FIRE!" Chariots and bowmen all shot one massive barrage of aireal death, hitting bird and dragon alike. If a dragon fell, spearmen ran over and shanked him. The battle was over...and the Wu Tang had won.

As soon as the enemy was out of sight, meat was collected and weapons were being stolen. A few lessons had been learned:
1. Dragons may be big, but can't keep up with fast swarms
2. Aracoix are very weak to large massed firings of projectiles.
3. Once on the ground, both species are doomed

Two pack now turned his eyes even further into Aracoix territory. Imagine, if his gang could conquer a kingdom! The Wu Tang Klan would be the most feared group in the land, perhaps even more then the Horde! "Alright boyz! We's gonna camp and regain our strength, but I wantz scouts watchin for flyers! Tommorow, we invade!"

Cheers broke out among the Wu Tang gangstas, for this was the most glory they had ever had. Who knows where the wind of fourtune would lead them?

As the six sole survivors of the Aracroix patrol and their company of dragons flew over the high walls of Aven and landed in front of the royal palace, they were faced with the whole of the Aracroix arm. Over twelve hundred well-armed warriors were in a precice Kh'ree formation with Lord Kirtar at their head, flanked by a short and lithe Jun'ta fighter whom Stormcrow did not recognize. The warrior was wearing golden armor instead of silver and carried a pair of long pole with two blades attached to each end. Stormcrow was startled to realize that he did in fact know this myseterious fighter.

"La Fay?!"

Kirtar nodded.

"La Fay flew to four Aeries in the time one of our couriers could have flown to one; we have an extra four hundred warriors becuase of her swiftness. Thus, she's earned her place as a Jun'ta elite, as well as her own core of elite Kh'ree. You and your survivors have been assigned to command a seperate Kh'ree."

Stormcrow looked strangely at the courier girl whose only skill had been her speed. A Jun'ta! Strange times indeed. He turned to see Commander Stork and Queen Asmira join them. Asmira bowed to the dragons.

"Great Dragons, we are in your debt. I can not thank you enought for helping our cause, and providing more warriors. Your kind will be greatly rewarded when these goblins are pushed out of Aracroix lands."

Even Kirtar nooded at this statement. He motioned for everyone to listen to his battle plan.

"We have decided to withhold all troops inside the city until the Goblin army is is sight. Our full forces will engage them from the walls and push them back until they are far enough to not pose a threat to the city, but close enough to that our men can still benefit from Aven's artillary powers."

He looked towards the dragons.

"We ask for your warriors to then assult the goblins from behind and encase them in a fierce pincer attack. Our elites will flank their sides and encircle the enemy; then, we shall attack from all points and crush our foe."

The dragons, who were laying down in a circle as to give the Aracroix more room, all nodded to Shimanyo-Kocoi as if to say "Your turn" He stood up and moved around so he was directly facing Asmira. As he turned however, he bowed his head to each of the patrol, and La Fay. He thanked the patrol and congradulated them on their recent promotion, which he did for La Fay as well. When he reached Asmira, he sat down and spoke "We accept this offer but would like to request one thing. We of the Caex Luath would like to fight along the brave and powerful Aracroix warriors. The other four lauths will attack the goblins from behind. If this is okay, one of us will fly to Goldhome and give the situation." He finished

"What na boss?" Two Pack wasn't sure himself. This was his entire army, and he knew that the Aracoix and the dragons outnumbered him. His small brain throbbed as it tried to find the answer. Move forward, and he would be crushed. But what were the alternatives?
"I gotz it." He climbed on top of a decaying body of a dragon and adressed his troops. "Boyz! How many of yous likes raidin?" Of course they all raised their hands. "How many of you's actually wantz ta go back ta Boomville?" None rasied their hand. "So, whatz we gonna do is live off da land, or da birdies, and we's gonna get rich!"

Asmira bowed gracefully.

"We would be honered to have your kind fight alongside the Aracroix warriors. It will be a blessing to have your streanth. And yes, alert the other Luaths of our plan."

Kirtar nodded and turned to his captians.

"Commander Stork, we'll be heading the regulars into battle; Divide the Kh'rees among your officers as you see fit. Captians Styre and Bereth, when the Goblins come into sight I want your Jun'ta to be placed at our ends; when I give the signel, you will flank the enemy from the sides with dragon support from behind."

Styre and Bereth, the two commanding officers of the Jun'ta, nodded and saluted.

"La Fay, you'll be our herald. Take your Elites and scout ahead; There's a good chance the Goblins won't simply walk up and attack the city; our enemies may be stupid, but they're not idiotic. They know they don't have enough men to storm Aven. If I'm thinking correctly, this may turn into a seige. Find them and, If you can, draw them close to the city."

Asmira popped in for a few words.

"If Kirtar is right, then I don't want the goblins to raid anything for themselves. La Fay, I'm adding another duty to your list. You and your men will torch as many miles of plains as you can; the Goblins won't be able to steal any crops thia way. Either they will stay at the boarder and not be a threat, which I highly doubt, or they will try to attack us with long supply lines, which is risky. Either way, we come out better."

La Fay nodded and spoke in her delicate voice.

"You can depend on me. By tomorrow morning the plains will be scorched to the ground and goblins located."

With that the young elite and her men rocketed into the sky, fully stocked with oil-laeden torches.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Several Hours Later-A ways from Aven

"Keep a sharp lookout for those goblins, men!" Called La Fay as she hurled another torch into the already-flaming ground. Burning the plains she had grown up on was a hard thing to do, but it made perfect sense. The Gobins would have a hard time raiding scorched earth and burnt dirt. Either they would have to retreat or fight hungry.
