The Forging of the Treaty: Round 2 (Attn Kyanges and Gaian)

Einhauser
14-12-2005, 21:01
Ulysses Prime shone like a blue jewel in the sea of black, white, and red nebulae that surrounded it. With a climate much like that of Terra’s, which had been conquered by the demonic Empire of Einhauser during the civil war, the United Forge Worlds of Einhauser had been quick to settle it.

Although the lush planet’s population was beginning to get a tad too high, it was still a comfortable world, and home to the administrative heart of the UFE. Skyscrapers tore at the sky with frequent abandon, and the upper atmosphere was choked with merchant starships waiting to sell their cargos of products from throughout the UFE to the hungry markets below.

Dominating the most northern of the planet’s six continents was the gigantic government complex simply referred to as “The Block.” Made of exotic materials dug from the very bases of at least seven worlds, the massive palace was more a city than building, boasting a population of nearly three million employees. Even with these numbers, it’s sheer size kept it from overcrowding.

The streets of the complex were crowded as the sun began to set, as most of the workers were returning to their low-rent, modular tower homes after a long day’s paper-pushing, so Alexander Henderson and his associate, Mr. Duvold had to fight their way up the sidewalks, against the stream of pedestrians.

“It’s times like this I wish we had jobs that didn’t involve constantly being on call, eh Alex?” huffed Duvold as he bent down to catch his breathe. Alex clapped him on the back and reached a hand out to his friend.

“I would say the pros outweigh the cons,” he replied.

“Yes, but those pros never do us any good if we don’t use them!” barked Duvold in a mock-angry tone. He had wanted to take a ground car to work, but when he suggested it to Alex over the phone, the other man had refused to get into any vehicle that didn’t have heated seats.

Duvold had tried to explain that not having heated seats was a lot less of a problem than trying to fight your way upstream at rush hour, but Alex wouldn’t listen. Brilliant man, thought Duvold, but eccentric like nobody’s business.

Feeling mildly less tired than he had been before, Duvold signaled that they could continue. They pushed their way through the crowds for another hour or so, passing innumerable office buildings, government-owned cafés, movie theaters, megamarts, starports, and housing module complexes. In short, they walked past everything that a government employee would ever need.

Some said that once you started working at The Block, you never left. Alexander could understand this, for his father had been born, lived, worked, and died here, and he intended to do the same.

As high-ranking members of the Office of Alien Affairs and Immigration, or OAAI (jokingly referred to as “oi!” by exasperated workers), both men knew that their jobs were very secure. In fact, Alexander doubted that he would be fired even if he bought a machine gun and took out a department store. Thinking about that made him chuckle a bit to himself, and Duvold looked over at him curiously.

Alex was about to explain, but all of a sudden they were at the door of their destination. A security officer opened the glass door and beckoned them inside.

“They are expecting you in conference room four,” said the young man. The two men nodded, grateful that the guard knew their faces and didn’t have to search them. The process could be quite painful if the guard had something against you.

They hurried up the marble steps leading from the entrance to the main hall, and from there to a side room full of elevators. After Duvold banged his meaty fist against the entire panel of call-buttons, they were forced to wait as the elevators returned from the top of the tower.

Alexander check the chronometer imbedded in his left wrist. The fight through the pedestrians had cost them much time, and if they did not hurry they would be late. Finally the doors opened and the two men briskly stepped inside.

“80th floor,’ said Duvold to the elevator. It chimed in compliance and glided upwards as the magnetic accelerators got to work.

“So, I never asked you,” said Duvold to Alex, “what exactly they said we were being called for. All you said was that we had to go.”

Alexander checked his wrist again and willed the machine to rise faster. “All the boss said was that there were some high-ranking diplomats from at least one, and possibly two foreign powers headed to Ulysses Prime, and that we need to be there to hammer out a diplomatic agreement or something.”

Duvold shook his head, fed up with this sort of thing. “Why call us? We aren’t that high-ranked, we aren’t very important, and we are not in charge of anything.”

Alexander shrugged and checked his wrist yet again. As if on cue, the elevator chimed and opened its doors. They stepped out and headed straight for the row of conference rooms on the far wall, past the desk of a bored-looking secretary, a lightly dozing security guard, and several executives getting a shot of caffeine at a shiny brass coffee stand.

Alex pulled the big mahogany door open, and motioned for Duvold to go ahead. The slightly overweight man nodded and stepped inside.

“Ah, gentlemen!” said the booming voice of Samuel Kerensky, their immediate superior. He motioned for them to sit, which they did. “I see you got my message. Good, good. We are expecting the delegates within the next couple of hours.”

“What!” shouted Duvold, leaping out of his seat. “Why did you make us come all the way down here if we don’t have to do anything for hours?!” Kerensky motioned for him to calm down, and walked over to what appeared to be a closet.

“Because,” he said, opening the door slowly, “they are foreigners, and you have to study their customs and culture before the higher-ups will even let you breathe the same air as them.” As he said this, the door fell open, and box after box after box of files, reports, surveys, and just about every other kind of document the men had ever seen cascaded onto the floor.

With a barely suppressed groan Alex and Duvold slumped back into their chairs.

OOC: As you may have noticed, Ulysses Prime is a slackers-world, and generally devoid of security. This can be deceiving, however. The 4th and 8th UFE warfleets are stationed at the nearby gas-giant Eliptico, and there is a substantial inter-stellar monitoring system in orbit around Ulysses IV, another world in the Ulysses system.

Another boon is that the entire Ulysses system is extremely hard to find, due to the massive, and highly dangerous nebulae surrounding it. For some unknown reason, ships tend to disappear when they enter said galactic fog, and so only one (well hidden and guarded) route can be used to reach the system.

As such, just RP that you got a secret communiqué from us giving you the route.

-Official Databurst to the UFE:

This is Rinei Ilia, ES Diplomatic Corp, 1st Encounters, Xeno Branch. I've been assigned to your specific "case", and I shall arrive shortly. Two Shade Cruisers will be escorting my vessel until we reach your border.

I hope to meet your people soon.

OOC: Thank you. It's too long for a diplomatic RP though. Too long for any RP for that matter. Such is the curse of being the son of a writer...

IC: “This is… Corp… Xen… Assigned… case… shortly… cruisers… border…” fuzzed the radio. The guard behind the control panel looked up from his PlayStation 47 console and raised an eyebrow.

“It’s making that noise again, Chuck,” said the operator to the man watching television in the back of the listening post.

“Just hit the buzzer and let whoever it is through The Gate,” said the second operator, referring to the massive shield that blocked the entrance/exit tunnel to the system.

“Right, yea…” mumbled the first operator. He pushed down the big red button that deactivated the shield, and then went back to his game.

“Oh, don’t forget to dispatch a couple of escorts for the guys coming through The Gate,” the second operator said half-heartedly. His companion grunted and pressed another button without looking up.

“Jennifer, no! Don’t marry him! He’s your second cousin’s aunt’s hair dresser’s daughter’s friend!” shouted the man on the couch. The man at the console hunkered down in his chair and tried not to listen.

The sight of four seperate Fold Jump signatures, heralds the arrival of the third party to this trio over Ulysses Prime. A VSD-II, two ISD-IIs, and with them, the Hikari Treeship vessel Mikagami, all displaying auras of the heavens upon them.

"Take two time?" Lady Peorth looks over at Lady Seto, both of whom, looking at the vast view of the planet below, through a grove of trees, all along a half-subspace emplaced landscape of a mountain valley, with the hull runs denoting the spidersilk and tansparent-aluminum dome of the viewports, showing their objective.

Seto smirks.. "No less." ..she then orders comms opened, and her voice echoes melodramatic to the following...

:: ~ Hark to thee upon this cherished world, know that representatives of the realm of all light come to attempt a second time, a meaningful and lasting relationship between our triad of cultures.

Inform with all due speed where we can depart our chariots and embark upon your world here, so meet eye to eye.

I, Lady Seto of the Ascendancy, voice of the Council, await. ~ ::

OOC: Shoot, Gaian, I’m sorry. If I had known you were sick I wouldn’t have made this RP yet :( .

IC: As soon as the foreign diplomatic armada was noticed, a Firebat class Battlecruiser bearing the markings of the Einhauserian Navy’s 4th fleet peeled out of high orbit around Eliptico and surged towards them. Before it was even close, it sent ahead a transmission.

“Greetings esteemed visitors. I am Captain Rufman of the E.N.S. Graff. I am here to escort you.” The image of a slightly overweight man in a naval uniform filled the screen. He seemed to be very efficient in his movements, which made one wonder how he put on the weight, and it was obvious he had been a ships captain for a long, long time.

“Now, I am going to transfer you to Ensign Churcovich, who will provide directions that will bring you to the planet Ulysse-“ he was cut off as something off screen caught his attention.

“Sir, what about the new regulations?” said a voice. The captain looked surprised for a moment, then embarrassed.

“Oh, do I have to?” he said, with a hint of apprehension in his voice. Nothing was heard from the other voice, but apparently the person nodded, because Rufman slumped forward in his seat and gave the screen a sorrowful look.

“Fine, all right. I’ll transfer you to Ensign… Ensign Gray. I’m Sorry.” The last bit was almost cut off as the screen transferred to another station. A man in his early twenties was sitting daintily in a padded chair, and as the screen watched him, he frequently pulled his curly brown hair back behind his ear.

“Hello sailors!” He said. “I just love your little ships! They’re fabulous! What?” he glanced to the side. “Oh, they’re telling me to hurry up and tell you what to do. Well! Take your Betty battleships to the Sally shipping lanes above the Polly planet and park at the Dolly dock! There will be an Erica entourage to Minnie meet you!” Ensign Gray blew a kiss to the screen, which promptly went back to the captain.

Rufman was leaning forward in his throne, his head in his hands. After a moment, a hand reached in from off screen and jostled him. Looking up with immense embarrassment on his face, he said “I’m sorry. I really am. New regulations, you know. Must have one per ship.”

With that, the transmission cut off.

Lady Seto and Peorth watches this (as did the rest of the armada crews. Goddess bless them.. =<>=;; ) and endure as unexpectant guest usually do to such a display.

Seto just unfolds her bento fan and whispers to Peorth.. "This must be Disney World..."

Peorth.. "Disney Planet... might want to avoid talk of anything legal, ramification wise." ..both just chuckle and then teardrop as embarrassed witnesses do..."

Seto then flicks her fan closed and points in a high motion with her arm. "Well my fellows, do find us a parking spot please."

Apparently, they pass through a shipping lane to arrive at a space dock.

Almost as soon as their ships latch on inside the dock, the Ascendancy party arrvies via a teleport beam. Ladies Seto, Peorth, two Angel God guards, and a protocol droid that also acts as memory stash for all diplomatic functions besides talking.

The Gaians weren't messing around this time.

OOC: Glad to hear it

IC: “They’ll be here,” said the diplomat to his two guards. They had been waiting in this blasted space station for roughly three hours, and were beginning to think that the higher-ups had sent them early, just to get them out of their hair.

Suddenly, and most unexpectedly, the Gaian party arrived. Or, to be more specific, they arrived in the center of the poker game the two guards were playing on the floor.

“Hey! Why I oughta- oh, uh…” started one guard, before he realized who was in front of him. “Greetings!”

The diplomat rolled his eyes, but bowed to the foreigners. “My sincerest apologies! I was not able to procure a shuttle for your most… um… foreign selves. I am afraid we will have to take a teleporter.” He said the last bit with a bit of reluctance. Einhauserian teleporter technology was not exactly… safe, and more often than not the teleportee ends up where he did not want to go. Often in more than one piece.

Ignoring the looks the visitors gave him, the diplomat ushered the party along a hall while the two guards cleaned up their game and followed suit. “Come on, come on, we haven’ got all day…”

They strolled quickly down the near-empty halls of the station (the government had rented most of it to make for better security) and into a room not much bigger than a walk-in closet. At one end there was a crimson pentagon, and at the other was several large boxes, connected to the pentagon via thick cables.

“Alright, everybody on.” The diplomat led the way, stepping up onto the pad, and motioning for the operator sitting in a lawn chair on top of one of the boxes to start the thing up. He shrugged and casually hit a button.

As soon as the entourage was on, the boxes started to shake and roar, and a strange light suffused the room- much like when a photocopier jammed. “Hope we get there,” said one of the guards, playfully shoving a foreigner.

Peorth didn't even get to note the straight-low flush one of the guards had, as they were shoved along.

"Hey, I don't remember being your boyfriend." Peorth complains at the last, as they are shoved into the strange teleporter.

Seto just remarks.. "Let's 'hope' the device indeed works." ..in a 'level' tone. The kind that makes spines chill up. The Angel Gods don't like the shoving any better, and the protocol droid, C-6P12, flat out complains like any proper droid citizen would.

OOC: So, uh, Kyanges. Is there a problem?

IC:The sun was shinning, creating a pleasant, loamy smell in the dappled shade of the Neverwinter forest. An old gardener was walking along on a raised dirt path between the forest and the fields of soybeans used to make the nutrient paste that naval crews consumed.

A warm breeze played through the old man’s hair, ruffling his straw hat and making him smile. Life was good. All of a sudden, there appeared a tall man in the uniform of the Einhauserian Naval Security Force on the path in front of the farmer. The ENSF agent’s appearance was followed shortly by a sonic boom, which made the farmer fall to his knees.

When he looked up, there were several more people, strewn across the field, and another ENSF man stuck in a nearby tree. There even appeared to be a robot-thing struggling to right itself in the moist earth of the soy field.

“Well, that went well,” said the diplomat to the nearest Gaian representative. “You,” he said, pointing to the guard on the path, “get your buddy out of the tree.” Pulling out a hand-held GPS locator, the diplomat checked their position.

“Amazing,” he said without looking up, “we landed very close to the city. In fact, I think The Block’s outskirts start about 10 miles east of here.” With a great crashing noise, the second guard fell out of the tree and landed on his comrade. After much cursing and wild gesticulation, they both managed to pry their powered armor out of the ground and trudge over to the party.

“Block, this is ENSF detail 1309543. We need a dropship. Send it to my beacon,” said one guard into his radio. A fuzz of static greeted him, but it seemed to suffice. “They are sending a Halcyon over, sirs,’ said the guard to the gathered people, “ETA 37 seconds.”

Before he even finished, a shape loomed in the distance. It rapidly grew bigger, until the shape of a Halcyon gunship could clearly be made out. The big machine was usually used to transport up to 24 soldiers in full equipment to and from orbit, but was also used in combat support missions due to it’s heavy armaments, and, in rare cases, as a courier.

As the shuttle landed, it’s feet sinking into the field, the side door opened and a marine beckoned. The entire party piled aboard, and the ship lurched into the air.

“Many apologies, ambassadors,” said the diplomat. “I had not expected to be forced to make you wait for such a long period. Fear not, however, for we will be at the conference momentarily! Pilot,” he said, pressing the intercom on the bulkhead, “set us down on the roof of the Johanas Tower.”

It could be seen as this is all justification for anyone to be annoyed, or even mad.

..which makes the sight of Seto and Peorth... laughing... 'very' much laughing, as the Halcyon lifted upwards. The two Angel God guards just remained rather emotionless, with P12 just confused.

For the two royals however, having lived so long in the face of those that made the literal meaning of death possible, at war with such a thing, make4s moments like this actually..

...refreshing..

The two royals just laugh all the way to the Tower. Never mind both their faces (and clothes) are dungy looking.

..not a problem actually, more when they all arrive.

Duvold dropped his head to the table in exhaustion. The synthetic oak rang out as his head crashed into it. “Samuel, we’ve been at this for eight hours!” moaned Duvold. It seemed as though they had read every single document ever written on the blasted Gaian Ascendancy and the Eshirian Sovereignty of Kyanges ever written, and they still had only scratched the pile.

“Last I heard,” said Kerensky, “they are already on the surface, and should be arriving here momentarily. So that means-“ Alex cut him off.

“We can stop reading?” he said ecstatically. Kerensky shook his head in exasperation.

“Yes, you can stop.” Alex lifted Duvold’s head of the table and clapped him on the back.

“Whoo! Finally!” Duvold smiled and straightened in his seat. Kerensky motioned for them to straighten their suits.

“No sense offending the foreigners. Besides, I just heard that they got picked up,” said the big Einhauserian, “and they are in the back of a Halcyon cracking up.” Alexander scratched his cleanly-shaven chin.

‘I don’t remember the Gaian’s ever letting any unstable individuals into their royalty…” he said after a moment. “Maybe they are just stressed out.”

Duvold was about to supply a theory of his own, but at that moment two executives walked past the open door, supporting their sobbing companion.

“It was horrible!” choked the man. The other two tried to comfort him as they walked to the elevator.

“What was that?” asked Duvold. Kerensky sighed.

“The coffee machine just broke. That man walked into the room and found it on the floor. Poor devil.” All three diplomats looked down at the floor, paying respects to the departed vending machine.

Their remembrance was interrupted by a clang from above them. “Sounds like they are here,” said Kerensky with a note of apprehension in his voice.

A flash, and an energetic bang announced the arrival of Rinei above Ulysses Prime. A small vessel glided out of the fold, it's sleek hull still radiating the fantastic energies of the jump in the form of a blueish aura. Upon entering orbit around the planet, a simple transmission was broadcast.

Sorry I'm late. Had some troubles with our FTL drive, but other than that, no excuses. DiploFlight 119 requesting permission to land.

{Not the best of entries...} Thought Rinei with a tinge of regret.

Stressed was an understatement. In anycase, as the Halcyon lands, Seto and Peorth both recover and realize their dissheveled state.

"My my child. We look like a pair out of a back alley." Seto comments, and both look themselves over, and then nod to each other. They then poke some holo-button on an supposedly normal looking bracelette of gold.

A moment later, they actually begin shimmering all over both their bodies, the effect of cosmetic nanites literally sheeting over their bodies and clothing, very quickly and efficiently turning them both from rustic, to immaculate, in about twenty seconds.

Peorth comments with a clap of her hands, after the process finishes.. "A lady's best friend. Fashion-nanites."

Seto looks at the Einhauser diplomat. "I believe we are ready now."

P12 and the guards use different versions of their own to equal a stature version presentable. The droid though just complains through the proceedure. Peorth comments in a whisper to Seto. "Did we get the lemon model this time or something? I thought the P12 units were less..."

"...crochety? I think Washu likes that trait too much." Seto just teardrops.

As the second foreign fleet to enter the Ulysses system that day arrived, a Praemisus Tactical Strike Battlecarrier (one of only two in the entire 8th fleet) went to meet them. The heads of the navy had decided that there was no better way to welcome this particular fleet than with a ship of their own design.

The transmission sent ahead showed the same sort of overweight captain that seemed to be a fixture on all Einhauserian ships. This man, however, bore the many metals and ribbons of a civil war hero.

“Greetings esteemed visitors from the… next card… Eshirian Sovereignty of Kyanges. We, the people of… next card… the United Forge Worlds of… next card… Einhauser, welcome you to the world of… next card…Ulysses Prime. We hope that the Einhauserian and Kyane- Kyangesia- what is that word?” said the captain, trying (and failing) to mask the fact that he was reading from cue cards.

“Is that the plural of Kyanges?” What the hell is the plural of Kyanges?!” thundered the bulky man. “Honestly, you would think the sonavabitch that named the country would at least come up with a decent name, the sonavabitch,” he said, forgetting exactly who was watching through the screen.

When no one answered his question, the captain seemed to get even angrier. “I swear, the sonavabitch that gave me this crew had no idea what he was doing. You,” the captain said, pointing past the screen, “yes, you, the sonavabitch holding the cue cards! Hold 'em steady, will 'ya! Jeez, I swear! It’s impossible to get a decent crew!”

“Anyway,” he said, turning back to the screen, “just drive your damn ships into orbit and jump out, for all I care.” The screen went black, and an embarrassed junior officer appeared.

“I’m sorry, he’s a bit of a grump.” In the background the sound of the captain screaming at some unfortunate officer was evident. “Please, dock at the nearest orbital station. There should be a party there to take you to The Block.”

* * *

After secretly watching the Gaian’s transform (it was quite a sight for a tired ENSF agent), the guards motioned for them to head to the door on the far side of the roof. As they walked towards the door, it was opened, and Duvold stepped outside.

“Hello, hello, hello!” he said, shaking each of the Gaian’s gruffly by the hand. “I trust your trip was uneventful?”

OOC: No offense, Kyanges. I like your name. Had to do the above for the story.

IC:

Rinei, studied the man on the screen. {They look normal enough...}
"Um, right." She began with a seatdrop on her head, "We have a lock on the Gaians. I will arrive shortly."

With a flash, Rinei, a few aids, and a small squad of ESSov Honor Guards appeared in a flash near the small group of Gaians and Duvold conversing at the door.

Rinei looked around, and noticed the other group. {Wow, not bad. Got to congratulate the AI on making the transport right for once...}

She moved up to the Gaians, and Duvold. "Hello. This would be the Johanas Tower, correct?"

As Rinei made her greeting, her small vessel in orbit made a dock at the designated station.

OOC: Ah, my mistake. So, is there a plural of “Kyanges?”

IC: With a crackling of the air, the rooftop gathering was joined by the Eshirians*. Alexander, who had just exited the stairwell, nearly fell off the building, he was so surprised, but fortunately a guard caught him before he toppled completely over.

After exchanging pleasantries, the combined party was ushered down the stairwell and into the upper garden. As the elevators were on the other side of the large room, a moving sidewalk had been installed.

“This is really quite a pleasant floor,” said Duvold as he stepped onto the moving path. The guards kept pace with him, one on either side. “Most of these species are native to Ulysses Prime. As such, several are carnivorous.”

Alexander, bringing up the rear of the group, smirked. “Yes, we do have a horrible attrition rate for gardeners on this floor. Such a shame.” By this time, they were at the doors of the maglifts.

A short ride brought them to the 80th floor once more, where they entered the same room Duvold and Alexander had been studying. By now, of course, the books, as well as Kerensky, were absent.

“Now, lets us talk business,” said Alexander, motioning for the others to sit.

(OOC: I generally expected people to just ignore Kyanges. Things were much simpler in MT, when I was simply "The Republic of Kyanges." But then the move to FT required a few changes. I have a nation called the "Eshirian Sovereignty.", but I haven't used it yet because of its reduced stats. I fear that using another nation to run off of another nation's stats will just cause confusion. I guess I could make a few changes to my signature.

There is no plural of Kyanges. I made one before, but after learning the correct grammatical format for plurals in English, I quickly realized that Kyanges would serve as both singular and plural. That's about as simple as it gets. I don't even have to add an "s". ^_^ .)

IC:

Rinei returns the nod. The aids only bowed their heads slightly, and continued to trail Rinei.

The Honor Guards moved off the sides of the room while Rinei took her seat. Bringing up a few datapads, and fixing her long black hair back, Rinei sat with a composed form, and moved gracefully in every motion. {Ok, diplomacy face.} She thought to herself. {Got to put on a good show.}

The aids also moved off the sides, and waited for the others to sit, before checking on the availability of chairs within the room.

Rinei clicked on a special organic chip in her brain comprised of a tightly wound bundle of specially engineered nerve cells. They would serve as her "Universal" translator for the rest of the meeting. The aids and guards followed suit.

"Yes, let's begin." Replied Rinei.

OOC: Yes, “Gaian” does seem to be easy enough to change to plural form :p

Ah, don’t worry about it Kyanges. Most people, in my experience, never bother to user the correct plural even if it is in your sig. I used to have all the pronuciation guides in my sig, but I still got called” Einhausy,” “Einhausers,” “Einhauserens,” etc…

IC: Alexander smiled a wolfish grin. After all the long hours of study and frivolous pleasantries, , it was finally time to get down to business. “Now, what are we looking at here?” he asked of both groups. “Do we want a military alliance? Economic? Will there be a mutual protection pact made, so the others come to the aid of any threatened member? Will there be any military goods trading hands?”

"Well, why not economic? I would presume both your realms would like access to our own, and the tens of millions of worlds both in mortal space, and in the celestial dimension, that have extraordinary resources of all kinds to barter and trade in, in quantities that are not as expense as you may think.

Remember, we don't run our economy on the basis of profit. Rather it is a self-sustaining entity that runs no less differently than a human body in relative equilibrium.

Greed is not our goal. I would advice to take advantage of that."

The Einhauserians stiffened. "What do you mean our 'two realms?'" asked Duvold, slowly.

OOC: It's true that I have two different factions being RPed by this account, but right now you are only speaking with the UFE. The Empire of Einhauser are the mortal enemies of the UFE, and they often engage in horrific skirmishes at the borders of their respective space.

Because the UFE lost the civil war, they are extremely sensitive about the Empire. Even mentioning it is a death sentence, foreign diplomat or not.

Rinei looked on to Seto, "I've only been briefed with what little the Sovereignty has on file about the Gaians. What we do know has most of us impressed. Your people are on a level that only our own Ascendants have reached. And there are so few Ascendants..." Rinei finished off with a sad tone, though her face only hinted at the emotion reflected in her voice.

She flipped some datapads, and added, "Well for the rest of us down here in, as you say, the 'mortal' realm, I know that the Sovereignty can never back down from gaining knowledge, from whatever source. Please, what is the 'Hikari Technology Tree'? Sounds pretty fancy."

It has been a integral part of our entire civilization, and we have little limites to it's use, from Treeships in vast war fleets, to Palace Trees that span over thousands of worlds, with millions of Partners."

Alexander ran a hand through his blonde hair. “How about this, then: Each of the nations taking part in this treaty will build some sort of trading station on the outskirts of their space, as close to the other nations as possible. Then, each nation will provide an honor guard of 1-3 warships to guard each station.”

“In other words, there would be three stations, each with between 3 and 9 warships guarding them from three different countries. This would ensure that no power gains control over each station, and makes certain that trade can flow between the partners uninhibited.”

Seto looks at Peorth, and lets her answer. "That's all well and good, but we already have thousands of such statons with a usual compliment of a few tens of ships, with patrols of dozens more coming through all the time.

There are at least seventy along the borders of the old United Mankind territories we captured a long time ago, in the Milky Way Galaxy her, closest to your own realms."

Seto adds.. " It's not like we're too worried about security, so your merchant fleets would have little problem delivering and recieving goods from any of those.

But I would gather it'd be easier to do the same from our worlds directly. Less time lag between customer points and all."

Duvold and Alex nodded as one. “Well, the UFE doesn’t really have any trading stations at the moment. They are all either security, colony, or mining bases. And the various military one’s floating around is space, of course. Well, perhaps we should work out those details later.” Alex pulled out an old-fashioned ink pen and dipped it in an ink well on the table. Duvold pulled out a piece of handsome parchment, and set it down on the table.

Alex began to write. After a moment, he cast some sand (from a box he had mysteriously had hidden under the table) across the paper to dry the ink, and then held it up to the light and admired his work. On it was the standard mutual trade agreement he had learned to write so well back in his days of pre-schola.

“From this day forward, let it be known,” read Alex out loud, “that the United Forge Worlds of Einhauser, the Dimensional Grand Republica of Gaian Ascendancy, and the Eshirian Sovereignty of Kyanges, do hereby agree that trade shall flow between the aforementioned partners uninhibited.” Putting the paper down, he looked over to the others.

“Do either of your nations have anything to add?” he asked, pushing the parchment, pen, and ink towards them.

"Would it suprise you to learn that law and order in the Sphere works differently? Yes there's the standard stuff included in the Confederacy Accords that govern entrance of worlds into the Ascendancy Sphere Confederacy of Worlds.

But since there's so little need for greed in our realm, thanks to nigh unlimited resources and a decently strong code of moral governance that underlies our civilization, the Five Core Values most importantly to this, that we find normal concerns for said law and order are not as seriously needed.

Most people in the Sphere don't act the same as other's in.. well, honestly to say this, normal worlds do. Our people usually only look inward when searching for a path to follow. Not to answer the emotional greeds within.

An entire way of life does determine so many more things."

Seto though adds.. "However, if you will provide a list of apparent contraband your realm considers of such, we will comply to avoid any sensitive items being included in said trade. We cannot of course determine another nation's fate, unless enforced by some accord beyond normal diplomacy."

"Oh." Rinei began with a laugh, "Don't confuse our need for such laws as a failure of moral or lack of control in our people. We ourselves have control... no, eliminated any control our 'lower' desires have on ourselves. {The old Imperial Age made sure of that.} And like you, we're not cold machines despite this. The Sovereignty's primary concern is the possible blame we'd bring upon ourselves if our borders were porous enough to allow some banned substance, illegal elsewhere, to be traded freely through our territory. So of course, to avoid this, I'll be happy to bring up our list for you."

IC:Alexander licked his lips, slowly. "Each and every world in the UFE is different. For example, Ulysses Prime is populated by mostly affluent families who have been in the Einhauserian government for the last 2,000 years. Here, there is strict control over all weapons, narcotics, pornography, etc..., but on a world like Coronis Ultra, with only the Einhauserian 3rd fleet to impose rule, restrictions are... lax."
Gaian Ascendancy
22-12-2005, 05:43
Seto listened to both. Her crafted response.. "Our own world is a complex dichotimy. Over a billion years old itself is, as well as is our capital system. It was held in care and cloaked from all comers by the Powers that same number of years ago, from the Ascendant Avian Lords, the original owners.

Only for about a century has there been continued habitation, due to the command given to our Excellency. It was destiny that we came to our homeworld now, and through that, a destiny was crafted, one that kept laws and order in mind, to give peace and justice where no one would ever fear to walk outside their home at 'any' time.

Being of Earth origin long ago of the same timeline as the rest of my family, Peorth here included, I know all well the worry of laws and acts of debatchory. Our laws are not meant to make others fear the law, but to live a full and safe life, not of worry of another that is also Gaian. There is no such corruption in our ranks."

Seto then adds.. "So that is the basis of our seemingly lack of concern of the same laws you both here worry of. Still as long as your own merchants follow your respective laws, then we will find no need to worry ourselves. If a merchant 'does' attempt to acquire an item deemed illegal in your respective listings, we reserve the right to hold said persons until the truth is fully revealed, and then release into respective custody of your respective nations.

We will not prosecute our laws upon them, but we will find the truth before we release them, so we ourselves are not found a party of something illegal. If this is understood, then I stand we are complete in this part of talks."

She put down the datapads onto the table and added, "In my opinion, the Execs are just nervous at the prospect of another foreign power inside Sovereign space. Dimensionalized Fold Drives, Zero-Point Energy power cores, medical technology that even revives the dead from battle, and alloys and materials that allow the construction of vast starships that defy all conventions.

There's also the Confederacy Alliance system of goverment, that allows the governing of large areas of space. These and more from our sciences 'is' available."

Seto nods, and Peorth adds.. "Very well. When you both are ready with your documents, a copy can be given to P12 here, whom will upload the data to be stored permanently in our holographic archives, both on Homeworld, the Archival Hikari Network, and the Angelic Realm archives.

Where they shalt be."

Duvold and Alex groaned when the Eshirian mentioned the “next meeting.” No doubt both of them would have to get up early once again and study huge amounts of data, once again. Duvold was about to kindly excuse himself, but some noise from the hallway interrupted him.

A large group of paper-pushers from down the hall had raised up a man in a light-blue button down shirt onto their shoulders, and all were grinning and smiling and happy beyond belief. “He fixed the coffee machine!” they chanted, dancing little jigs as they continued past the office.

Grabbing Alex by the scruff of his neck, Duvold rushed up to the door, then, remembering exactly who was in the room with him, he turned. “Uh, um… It has been nice, uh… working out this treaty, but we must be off now. Feel free to explore the planet!” With that, they both rushed out of the room chanting “Coffee! Coffee!”

Rinei smirked at their moans, feeling their emotion and realizing the work that they put themselves through. {At least they put effort into it... Unlike some other races we know of...}

At the their last comments, Rinei only looked at the Gaians with a blank expression. "Explore...the planet?"

Seto and Peorth just eyed each other as the Einhauserans departed and all. Then Seto commented.. "If they want coffee so much, there's sixty-three planets we have that are dedicated to the stuff."

She then looks to Rinei's comment.. "Sounds fine. Mind if we bring a different refreshment?" ..she says, standing up. Peorth does so on cue as well.

"Oh, of course. Do as you wish... I'll bring some other snacks as well..." Rinei waved her hand, and in a small glow of light, she brought forth a small container filled with some oddly shaped bits of food. She then stood up as well, and asked, "Sooo, by shuttle, teleporter, PsiSense, or something else?" referring to the method by which they would "explore the planet."

Seto just speaks into her wrist comm, which causes a large glowing white disc form outside the building. Seto quietly guestures for Renei to follow, as does the other Gaians.

The floating 'platform', made of solid light, has several seating cushions of white, and a number of serving trays, some with sake bottles and cups upon them. Others with coffee and tea too. Munchie bits are upon set as well.

Seto walks up to it and comments.. "This might look wierd to the locals, but this is my prefered relaxation method to cruise around Homeworld when the cares need to melt away.

Shalt we?"

..this said as Peorth hops on, and then yanks P12 aboard, (whom complains again.) The two Angel God guards meanwhile are ordered back to the Mikagami, leaving them all alone (but hardly unprotected..)

"Looks alright." Rinei replied, following the rest onto the platform of light. She took her seat, and said, "Hm, pretty comfortable."

{Just as I though. Much, much more sophisticated. Command won't regret having allies like these. We could learn much...}

As soon as Rinei is seated, Seto 'nods' with sends a empathic Hikari command 'into' the disc, which whisks them via a teleport beam, to about five thousand meters above the surface of the Einhausan homeworld.

Seto and Peorth simply take a few sips of sake and offer Rinei some if wanted. In doing this, Seto asks.. "Is there something you wished to know, fellow representative?"

(OOC: Is that a response to the thought thing I had, or just an invitation to say something, because I'm somewhat lost as to how to respond to that last part.)

((OC- Invitation. If I wanted to do a mind probe, it'd be far more obvious, not to mention more frowned upon, given the NSer types around here. =^^= ))

(OOC: Alrighty then.)

IC:

Rinei just glanced at her surroundings. Only {ZOMG THIS IS AWESOME!!!} came to her mind...

Her verbalized reaction, however, was far more restrained. "This is pretty impressive. Something like the AG diving I used to do..." She looked around some more, before she replied to Seto, "Well, not really-wow what a view-ummm, just what is this platform we're on?"

Seto was sipping very calmly upon her small, though lavishly carved and monicered white crystal cup, with a small image of a tree winding about it. All the cups and bottles for the sake were so decorated. The other drinks and tidbits were upon blue and clear crystal cups, bottles and dishes, monicered with angelic images, or other tree images. Blossoming trees were a favorite.

As she hears Rinei react, not only verbally, but by emotional psy waves she could feel, as many psy types of many kinds do of such 'surface' things. Having the Hikari Power at her disposal was such a 'psy' ability.

She let Rinei have her moment, then the query, in return with..

"The platform is essentially a plate of solid light, focused from a focal projector that channels the subspace energy of the kind, one from my Tree Mimisaka, from my vessel Mikagami. The parent tree being back on our Homeworld, the said before distance from this galaxy and world.

I can assure you it's very safe, and even trying to deliberately fall off would be prevented by the fields also generating this disc. Such is a small sampling of the rewards of our patience and luck in allies over the years."

Rinei raised her arms up. "I'll say it right now, this is beyond what I had expected." Her eyes glanced about, taking in the lavish detail present on even the smallest trinket. She gradually calmed down, and decided to get back to business.

"The Sovereignty has only documented scattered reports of your actions in years past, mainly in the military department..."

"It's the level of advancement your people have achieved. AU sized trading stations built in only a few years, climatic battles between the very essence of good and evil... It's all very fascinating, and what-" Rinei's speech became slightly broken, "-what our scientists, and other 'ology' followers would like to know is-" "-is just how your people came to be this way."
