Today in a news conference, Martial Ainsley McLeod announce a massive expansion of the Imperial Aerospace Force. According to her, the IAF will increase from 8 air forces to a total of twenty, or from 40,896 to over one hundred thousand. She noted that thanks to the Imperial Senate's authorization for a Release of Funds, a total of $3,735,311,150,000 will be available per year for the next five years to pay for the expansion of aircraft and stocks, as well as the manufacture of the new Omzian-designed air-to-air and surface-to-air missiles. Thereafter, the budget for the IAF would be over 3.067 per year until another change in the order of the battle comes about.
Asked why this was necessary, the Martial of the IAF responded, "Currently the force dispositions are stretched far too thin. The duchies of Rana, Aldea, and New Copenhagen, by necessity, each have their own dedicated air force. That leaves five air forces to cover seven duchies. In no other area is the Imperium so underprotected and it is time that be changed. In approximately ten years every single duchy will have two air forces to blanket its skies in protection from aerial threats. With the generous gift of new AAMs and SAMs from OMASC, which the Imperium has graciously accepted, our skies will be better protected than ever."
