Background Information

In 1621 Vuhifell was discovered by European explorers, the United Kingdom set up colonies in what is now the state of East Point. France's colonies were set up in present day Erusea; Russia had its colonies in the state of Greykan, and the Japanese set up colonies in the Comona Island Chain.

Osea entirely arid, desert spanning from the eastern part of Osea to the west coast.

Temperate in the city of Farbanti, the entire northern half of the state of Greykan is radioactive due to a nuclear war in our history.

Terrain

Mountains and desert on the west coast; in the Northern half of Greykan, black clouds blanket the state, charred ground, radioactive ash and particles make life nearly impossible in that State. Flat plains in the center of the continent, rain forests and flood plains near the south-eastern coast, rolling hills and occasional mountains on the eastern coast, heavy mountains and arctic plains in the northern region.

Executive Councils

Several councils exist to govern and assist the President. Five councilors reside on each council, with the head councilor bestowed a veto position on the council only able to be over-turned through a unanimous vote of all other councilors on the council. The Head Councilor is also a member of the President's cabinet, with full access to the Grand Council (A Council consisting of only the High Councilors)

The Vice-President is able to vote in a council if a councilor is absent or there is a no-vote (e.g. 2-YEA, 2-NAY, 1-ABSTAIN)

Education

Education in Vuhifell is highly centralized, and is supervised at city, state, regional, and national levels...

History to 1700

Vuhifell traces its beginnings back to the Iron Age. Asian settlers, mainly Korean and Japanese began to settle the lands directly next to the West Coast, the Goldberg Desert expanding just east of the coast scared most ancient settlers from venturing deeper into the mainland.

However, according to myth (see Native Religion Section) Five sons were born from the of Life, Aden, and they were named St. Dragoon, St. Makor, St. Archer, St. Hewlett, and St. Ark.

St. Dragoon civilized and taught the already settled people of the west coast (Tribe of Greykan)
St. Makor colonized the northern artic regions with his children (Tribe of Tylian)
St. Archer colonized the swampy and tropical south coast with his children (Tribe of Erusea)
St. Hewlett colonized the Goldberg Desert with his children (Tribe of Valgan)
and St. Ark colonized the East Islands Chain with his children (Tribe of Comona)

Around the birth of Christ, Vuhifellians began to grow unique traits specific to their tribes and scientific activity flourished. Not to mention a highly organized political, economic, and religious system. All tribes governed themselves, as open democracies with no representation, however the Consortium, an inter-tribal group of traders and merchants, ruled over the continent's economy until the settlers arrived. All tribes however, believed in the same religion and were united by it, because of this, Vuhifellians never saw much war until the European settlers arrived in 1621.

In 1621, English sailors exploring the Pacific Ocean discovered the Eastern Island Chain, and began to map the surrounding East Coast, because of this, the entire area and state is now named "East Point". It was quickly discovered that in nearly every region of the continent, there was at least one resource that could make a European empire wealthy overnight, and thus, France, Russia, England, and Japan divided the continent into four parts, with the French taking the center region, the English taking the East, the Japanese taking the West, and the Russians taking the north, their respective empires grew in wealth so fast, that it has often been joked in modern Vuhifell that without the wealth the continent generated, no one would have enough money to colonize the Americas.

In 1679, Vuhifellian pilosopher and priest of the Valgan tribe, Rajju Hemenin, described the ancient democracies and a social contract, not too different from the Enlightenment philosopher John Locke. The more developed societies in the East and West quickly accepted Hemenin's philosophy of democracy and government debt to its citizens (for allowing the government power), and called for change, the Japanese granted the Greykan tribe independence immediately on July 18, 1684, however, the remaining empires chose to hold on to their Vuhifellian posessions.

In 1689, another philosopher, James Irrid, began speaking of an ideology that was revolutionary in its time, that, when a majority of a government's citizens publicly outcry for action from a government, the government is obligated to fulfill their request, no matter how threatening to the government. This appealed almost everyone in the East Coast and on the Southern Coast as well, and in August 19, 1690, France declared that, for safety of French lives and resources, they would give all their territories to Greykans, to be divided among their respective tribal owners.

Yet still, the Russians and British refused to grant the northern and eastern coasts their independence, and in April of 1691, citizens of now Polaris City staged a revolt against the Russian government, sinking 14 Russian ships in the harbor and over 4000 Russian soldiers in their barracks. When Moscow heard the news of the revolt, they sent an armada from the Atlantic to deal with the rebellors, but when they got to the Bay of Razgriz in the Northern Region, a combined fire ship navy from the Greykan, Valgan, and Erusean tribes lit fire to half the Russian armada while they were still attempting to land. Once the Russian troops rushed into a nearby rebel encampment, Greykan sailors siezed control of 4 Russian ships and arded the landing site, while a trap set by Valgan troops dampened the snow in whale oil, and lit it ablaze.

Overall, 43 Russian ships were lost in the three weeks since the armada's arrival and over 9,000 Russian soldiers killed fighting on land. When the remainder of the fleet got back to Russia and told Moscow about their defeated police action, no further Russian aggression was noted, and all Russian merchants were ordered out of the North Region. In February 9, 1692, the Treaty of Moscow formally granted the north region its independence, however, despite the victory in the north region, the East Coast was still in British hands.

On March 18, 1692, a formal request for more political freedom was sent to London with over half a million signatures from all over the continent, the document, now known as the London-Comona Appeal, called for the eventual turn over of all British lands to the Comona tribe, in exchange, all five tribes agreed to pay the British government an equivelant to £1000 every day, "until the end of the world". The Biritish rejected the offer stating "through intimidation, you have gained political autonomy from every other nation, however, we will let you know that this empire will not be drawn of this continent so easily, and we shall stand firm, so help us God, in the face of your threats."

Desiring freedom for the entire continent but unwilling to submit to the British, Consortium leader John Kay called for "every member of the British occupied East Coast to...refrain from working to gain political autonomy." The movement started out slow at first, with hardly any major British economical assets hard hit, the Spring of 1693 brought with it the disgusting thought that the East Coast may never be free, however, these thoughts only spread to the East Coast, where, by the Spring of 1694, over 40% of British mills, mines, shops, and ports were seeing no employees whatsoever. The workers who didn't have jobs were guaranteed free food, water, and shelter by the other tribes on the continent, and by the summer of 1698, over 90% of British employers had no employees whatsoever, so that by the Spring of next year, Britain was losing almost 7 times as much money as it was making from the East Coast, finally, on December 31, 1699, the British King and the British Parliament admitted defeat, and announced that they would give the East Coast its independence.

History 1700-1800

In reality, the British didn't really keep their word. They gave up all territories with the exception of the Island of Hamani (Northernmost in the East Island Chain) and retained it stating that 'the city of North Point is too valuable to hand over to you in a day.' They did however, pull out within a day when the Greykands threatened to blockade the city until the British had pulled out, this is why July 10 is the Vuhifellian Independence Day, and not December 31, because the British pulled out of North Point, the last of their colonies, on July 10, 1700. The biggest problem for Vuhifell right now was that there was no Vuhifell. Only five nations of five tribes, and the Greykan tribe controlled over half the continent with their nation.

This growing debate soon threatened to turn the entire continent into a battlefield, when a politician from North Point came up with the Constitution Accords. The Constitution Accords were a set of agreements by each tribe to send delegates to the village of Hivez, (soon became the capital and in the mid 1990's, was mostly destroyed), to draft the "Unity Doctrine". The Unity Doctrine established that all borders between tribal lands were to be disbanded and the continent brought into supreme unity under a nation named after the continent, Vuhifell.

On November 1, 1700, the Unity Doctrine was in place and the continent was united, soon after, delegates from Valgan began to draft the Federal Constitution of 1700, a document to set up a permanent government for the new nation.

While this was being written, in May of 1703, the first President of Vuhifell, Michael McGlocghlen, took office.

Native Religion

Since the dawn of time, Vuhifellians have always believed in their religion, and even today, with Atheism being dominent in Vuhifell, the majority of the religious in Vuhifell are members of this native faith.

This faith has yet to be named, due to disputes between the tribes onto what it should be named, however, from hereafter it shall be referred to as "The Faith". The Holy Book of the faith is the Haraaj (HAR-a-RA-GG). It consists of 32 Jaguu's (YAG-ooo). The first Jaguu tells of the creation of the Universe by Tyth, the Ruler God, and the thirty-second tells of what may happen when the end times come, and what humans can do to secure a life with Tyth.

The faith is a polytheistic religion, and a brief synopsis of the faith will be presented.

In the beginning, before there was Earth, before the stars, and the moons, and the universe, Tyth's wife, Samarel, died. Feeling sorrow and depression, his children (the lesser gods) tried to comfort him, but to no avail. He missed his wife, and his children could not understand his sorrow, so he created Earth, and the stars, and the moons, and humans.

In the beginning, after the creation of humans, Tyth and his children went down to Earth to live among the humans, these humans, are referred to as "The Angels" because they were created by the divine hand of Tyth, and thus, they too were divine. However, the early shells of these humans were empty, thus, Aden, the Goddess of Life, and Tyth's youngest daughter, brought the breath of life into these shells.

Tyth could see their emotions, their joy, their sorrow, their laughter, their tears, and he forgot the pain of losing his wife, he and all the other Gods were pleased, because a human had also fallen in love with Aden, eventually bearing children with her. These children, "The Saints", were not as divine as the Angels, but they were still divine, and Aden's five sons, St. Dragoon, St. Makor, St. Archer, St. Hewlett, and St. Ark, eventually founded the five tribes of Vuhifell.

This is known as the Dominance Epoch. Where man replaced Tyth as the dominant creature upon the Earth, as more generations of humans passed, and the holy blood in them began to fade away, mankind spread across the Earth, and created different languages, different cultures, and different religions. As man created his first religion not paying homage to Tyth, the Gods were insulted, and Tyth created the Netherworld, a place for all humans who do not follow his ways, and for the faithful, he created the Holy Sanctum, where faithful humans would go when they died.

Thus, Tyth took his children, the Gods, the Angels, and the Saints up to the Holy Sanctum, bringing about what Christians call, "The fall of man."

The Holy Sanctum

Tyth and Samarel (before her death) were the ruler Gods, the Gods that watched over their children, their Children each rule over one aspect of life, and control it completely. The Angels moniter the faithful, and make sure no harm falls upon them, finally, the Saints live in the Holy Sanctum, to remind the Gods that the humans exist, and that their duties are very important for the survival of this world.

This is where Samarel went after the fall of man, because Tyth forgot to bring her soul to rest. From her, the Demons were born. The Demons each control a element or phenomenon that may harm or kill a human.
