Death of an Empire (open)

North Mack

Emporer Jackson stood atop the balcony high above the cheering crowd. It was the 100th anniversery of North Macks moving to New Terra, their current homeworld. There were festivals all over the city, and almost every buisiness in North Mack was closed. It was noon, and every citizen of New Tanakai, the capitol of North Mack, was in the main square, waiting to hear the Emporers speech. The fact that the emporer could even GIVE a speech was a great feat. After all, he was 134 next month.

The balcony was enclosed with bulletproof, grenade proof, almost everything proof, glass. He was almost invincible within that box. He could survive anything. Except what hit him.

Just as the Emporer opened his mouth to staart his speech, The box balcony blew apart. Because, as strong as the glass was, it couldnt stand up to a Bunker Buster Bomb dropped from 10,000 feet. how a plane slipped past the NM Air Fleet was unknown. How it targeted the Emporers balcony was even more of a mystery. All that ws known, was that at the same time the balcony blew up, hundreds of people in the crowd threw off jckets and bagan shooting the remaining NM Soldiers with automatics.

The Second Revolution had begun.

Mike Stevenson stood over a table in the basement of an office building, slowly moving some object round. He looked at the table, where the reb objects were vstly outnumbered by the Blue objects, and smiled.
"Our forces are beating back the enemy. New Tanakai will soon be ours." Mike's second in command, Jeff Norinnway, told him. " After that, it will be hilds play to take the airfeild and begin the fight for the air.

Stevenson smiled. yes, he thought, childs play...

The second Austian expladitionary fleet cruised through space at several hundred TMPH, huge sub-light engines burning. it was heading towards a planet, a newly discovered planet, cheaking if it was suitable for conalisation and addition to the Empirre.

To all beings who can hear this transmission. Please respond. This is the Imperial Fleet of his Majesty emproer Palpatine the 12th, God Emporer of the cosmos.
Kielun

The Kielun Fleet of Truth was just passing by the sector when they intercepted several transmissions coming New Terra. They were incomplete and hard to understand, but the meaning was clear. They needed help and that civil war had broken out.

"This is High Admiral Kix'var. What is going on? Do you need assistance? Please respond."

"Sir!"
Mike Stevenson looked up from the table, after having seized New Tanakai.
"What is it"
"Sir, We've just received two transmissions almost simultaniously, and intercepted a transmission from the Airfeild responding to one of the messages."
Mike looked confusedly at the man. He hadnt understood a thing the man had just said, as he was near hysterics.
"Repeat that."
"Ok, first, we received a message from a fleet in orbit around New Terra. It was a general broadcast about responding if we heard it. The government hasnt answered yet, at least not as far as we know."
Mike frowned. "ok, and the second?"
"The second was another transmission from space. It was asking if anyone needed assistance. The airfeild responded by asking the senders for help putting down the revolution."
Mike frowned even deeper. "That could be bad. Send a transmission of our own stating the current regime is corrupt and the people are the ones who need helping. As to the other one, send a message that says we have received their message, and ask what they want."

The man finished writing all this down and nodded. "I'll get right on it sir." He bowed and ran out, presumably back to the Trans-Needle the revolution had captured yesterday. Mike shook his head, and turned it back to the strategi placement of the troops.

"Message in, sir. It's from the planet."

"Afermative Midshipman, what does it say?" The boy swollowed this was his first mission and he was delivering a message from a new race to one of the most powerful people in the galaxt.

"It says they recived our message and want to know what we want."

"Affermative, respond like this."

We have noticed signs of primative warfair on your planet. We wish to know the state of play and if we can help.

OoC: Aust? im an FT nation. by the way. ;)

We have noticed signs of primative warfare on your planet.
We wish to know the state of play and if we can help.

Mike stood, jaw open. "Primitive warfare? They think we've got the same technology level as the other nations. Why?"

The aide looked as some charts. "Well, our entire fleet is currently on the opposite side of the planet. Theire engaged in combat with the Empire forces. That might be it."

"Well then, send the 2 destroyers around to meet them. Also, send this message.
'we are currently involved in a rebelion against our corrupt Empirical Regime. We could use assistance in the form of ground troops, and starships to assist in the battle on the opposite side of the planet.'"

"yes sir. Right away."

In orbit above New Terra
2 Rebellion destroyers--mercenary ships, but no less deadly then their Empire counterparts--came into veiw around the curve of the planet. They began transmitting thier message as soon as they saw the Aust ships on the instruments.
Salatoria
14-12-2005, 20:30
the salatorian 2nd fleet had been holding their position within thru space for some time now. partly to conduct minor repairs on a few ships in their fleet bt mostly to bide their time. the salatorian people were great believers in fate so ints not un-natural for them to adopt a "wait and see" attatude to a difficult situation. recently the salatorian empire had been racked with civil strife and large chunks of their dominion had broken off into independant republics. this had damaged both the economy and the pride of the salatorian people but hadn't much effected their millitary.

the meaning of this sitation was that the formor Salatorian empire had a large number of vessils of high alert and alot of lost ground to make up. i.e. they were once again on the hnt of teritory.

'sir we have recieved a transmission from a sector near to us in relative space'
'proceed' said Admiral Croness, a career navy man he had been itching to get back into combat for many years. circumstances had not allowed him to do so untill now.
'it was mostly garbled, thru space is causing interfearence, but the parts of the message we did pick up made the situation clear. it seems a civilisation relative in terms of technology to us have recently began a civil war. the ripe potential of this event is causing several fleets to move towards their postion. there are calls from both sides for assistance'
Croness knew an opertunity when he saw one,
'Ensign drop us out of thru space, alert the fleet of out intentions in intervene. how long will it take us to reach to oragine of the transmission?'
'Several hours sir, less if we push the engines'
'No, several hours seems fine, i don't want to walk into this conflict unprepared'
'Excellent sir'
'Report to me every half hour on the current state of affairs on the planet, i would like to know who would be or best bet of winning'
'Sir'
'Aand don't make a single transmission without my express permission'

"Sir! We have unidentified ships coming round the horizion." The Midshipman screamed,

"Battle stations!" Lord High Admiral Tompkinson yealled, "All cannons aimed on those enermy ships. The 26 battleships of the Austian Empire where moving into line, ready to fight. "Prepare to launch fighters."

we are currently involved in a rebelion against our corrupt Empirical Regime. We could use assistance in the form of ground troops, and starships to assist in the battle on the opposite side of the planet.

"Just recived a message sir!"

Tompkinson read the message and re-read it, it was in english a dead lanage on Aust, but the computers processors had no problem trasnlatig it into Austian.

"Empirical regime, that means a Empire dosn't it? I don't think the emporer would like us starting on a fellow god. (Emporer=God in Austian) Send a encoded transmission to the other side saying we'll support them."

"Sir. Whts your plan sir?"

"We fake allince with these rebles, come roudn the far side of the planet and boom! Turn on them. Well have to be quick, once we crst the planet send a immidet message to the empires flagship to tell them that where on there side, meanwhile send this to the rebles."

We will support you, our battleships, 26 in all are coming roudn the planet to engage your enermy as we speak.

Admiral Steven Gerald stared at the Tac-Screen. according to the sensors, 26 unidentified, unclassified ships were approaching the battleground, following 2 rebel Destroyers. if they're following Rebel destroyers into battle, then they must be on the rebels side! 26 battlecruisers! we're screwed!

"Issue a fleet-wide order. To all ships: Prepare to engage enemy battlecruisers. When your sheilds reah 10% efficiency, retreat to Nav Point G. Prepare to fire on my command..."

Admiral Tompkinson smiled , he had waited as long as he could and sent a heaverly encoded message to the Empirical forces. [i]We are only faking allince with the enermy.
We are on your side and will fire on them ocne we get within devisating range, fire on us but fire high or weakly.

OoC: Aust. i dont know if this is really how the message would work, but im just doin it cuz it would be pretty damn cool way of doing it.

"SIR!! SIR!!" The engineer screamed.
Gerald whirled around "What is it?"
"Something just locked me out of the system! It arrived in a encrypted message packet!"
"WHAT?! Get rid of it!"
"I cant! Its locked me out! I cant access anything! Its tearing through our system!"
"Can you isolate it?"
"No sir! ITS REACHED OUR DATACORE!!"
Gerald was seriously worried by now. "I DONT CARE HOW YOU DO IT, JUST GET RID OF IT!!"
"Its... SIR!"
"WHAT?!"
"Its... its self-decrypting. I have control back. Its a message..."

We are only faking allince with the enermy.
We are on your side and will fire on them once
we get within devistating range, fire on us but fire high or weakly.

Gerald grinned. "Finally! Some damned help! Get me Fleet-wide.

Attention Fleet. When those destroyers get in range, Fire on them with PLAS-LITES ONLY! Use... 5% Efficiency. DO NOT, repeat DO NOT penetrate the hulls with missiles or anti fighter rockets."

OoC (again): Plas Lites are basically lasers my nation uses. They fire superconcentrated bursts of radiation that instanty superheat anything it hits, turning it into plasma. One of the technical aspects of this is that it fires a guidance stream of electrons so the radiation remains in a concentrated beam. the electrons are fired fast as liightning, hence the names "Plas-Lites" 5% efficiency will at most raise the temperature of your ships hulls by 5 degrees farenheight.

The fleet was gradually moving into the middle of the reble fleet, 20 huge battleships and 4 destroyers dewarfing the ships around them (Austian ships are huge, and i mean huge) fighters had been launched and slwoly everything single missile unit was accuring lcoks. On the rebel ships.

20 battleships, 20,000 nuclear missiles, 10 times as powerful as those used at herosima, along with the many hundreds of thousands of lazer batterys and tens of thousands of fighters. A Austian fleet was virtually a planet with engines, 100,000 people in each ship. Women children and soildiers waiting for the order to fire.

It came.

20,000 nuclear missiles streaked away towards the rebel ships, 100,000 klaser shots a second following them, in another minuate another 20,000 missiles would follow. Hordes of Austian figthers moved to atatck the enermy forces.

Betrayal was sweet.

(Austian lasers are really weak, but fire quickly and often. Of no real use against anything but fighters. Fighters are armed with nukes and conventinal lazxers and missiles.)
Blood Moon Goblins
18-12-2005, 16:33
Thus far in the records of history, Goblins are the only species insane enough to use rockets as a method of space travel. Of course, it has advantages, like being fast and relativly effecient. The disadvantage of exploding or being hurled off to die in the vast regions of space dont seem to phase the Goblins, provided somebody brought a pack of cards or a couple Goblinballs.
Presently such a 'doomed ship' was hurtling through space about five hundred miles from Earth with a large hole in the side of its fuel tank, when, rather unexpectedly, it vanished.
With what would have been a loud 'Flump' had the event not occured in space, the rocket re-appeared in the midst of the North Mackian (assuming thats how you say it) fleet.

---
Around the rockets midsection, where most of the passengers sat, two of the first to wake happened to have an excellent view of the ongoing battle.
"Owwww...'ey, Furg...lookit dat! Deyse got dose light-fings from dat stoopid movie joo always watchin'!"
Furg rubbed his head. There was a large dent in the bulkhead in front of him. Goblins have very thick skulls. "Dats...intrestin'...joo got som'dat headache stuff...my brains feel like dey's got a few waste trolls playin' Goblinball wif 'em."
"Eh, ferget joo. Deys got pretty colours! AN' explosions! Lookit dat one!"
He was presently joined by a number of Goblins in admiring the distant light show.
---
Meanwhile, the crew of the ship was desperatly attempting to fix their radio while, at the same time, watching what the passengers were watching.
After several false starts, they got a brief morse-code SOS out, before the radio fused into the bulkhead when a laser of some sort passed too close and fried most of the ships electronics.

Gerald stared at the new blip on the sensors. "Shift Drive?"
"No sir." the aide replied. "the shift waves were absent. and the main propulsion of the ship appears to be Chemical. very old-tech."
"Chemical? youre sure?"
"positive. There also appears to be a hole in the tank that contains the chemicals they use. It is pretty unstable. We've received a broad spectrun SOS from the ship too. Its using an old code. Pre-flight."
Gerald thought "Hm. send over rescue ships. get the crew off of there. Also, the first ship should contain a boarding crew in case its a trap."
"Yes sir."
"Oh. I want to meet the commander of those ships that helped us out."
"On it sir"

-------------------

Mike fumed at the table. all the ships destroyed. ALL
"Um, sir?"
"WHAT?"
the messenger jumped. "Um, we've captured the airstrip. It had 7 transports there. We're converting them to Blockade Runners like you said to."
Mike grimmaced. "We're gonna need them. I want them up by tommorow"

The Kaskin A4-G2 space craft's crew had been taking a break from a long hard day aboard the craft. Although the day was tough it was boring. Nothing interesting had happened for long long time. The next exciting thing they would see wouldnt be months yet. Or so they thought.....

"Arrghhh damn computer what is it now??" Demanded the Captain of the craft Ian Goodwill.

"Error: Cannot read section of space Co-ordinates 24,64.

"My god" He whispered as he checked the error out. "Thats a BLACK HOLE! AND ITS RIGHT NEXT TO US!"

The craft drifted closer and closer being sucked toward the the black emptiness.

"GET US OUTTA HERE CREW!"

"Sorry sir the crafts on autopliot amd our course runs straight through the black hole"

"Oh no"

In a sudden blast of colour and bright lights, quite unlike space, the craft shot through the hole... out the other side and right above....

A Space fight!

"My god sir look they are fighting with splashes of light"

"Lasers i should think"

"One sides pulling away"

"Yeah they look finished"

"What do we do?"

"Well ok we have the technology to beam a message to those ships"

"We do"

"Well send the biggest ship on each side this message"

We come in peace. We have very basic weapon technology. Please tell us who are you and why are you fighting?

With that message sent, Ian sat back and waited.
Blood Moon Goblins

There was much general dissapointment amoung the Goblins as they lost their excellent view of the fight to be crammed into transports and moved to the NM ships, although they were delighted to discover that this larger ship had a number of viewports with quite an excellent view, especially from the docking bay. The occasional nearby explosion did not seem to bother them.

Gerald rubbed his head.
"Rebel fleet destroyed by massive ships, Goblins in the Docking Bay, and a primitave ship that has stumbles here by accident. What next... Ok. Bring the goblin leader to me, I still want that meeting with the Leader of those huge ships."
"Yes sir."
"Sent a transport to the primitive ship with one squad of Infantry and one Diplomacy squad. Broadcast the standard peach message on the way over. Get them onto our ship. They wont stand a chance without sheilds."
"Yes sir."
Gerald sighed. It had been a long day.

"Yes sir?" Tine sighed, it had been a long day, but he still had his duty to see too.

"Send a hail over to the leader of the Empires forces inviting them aboard, and find out who the hell those other ships are."

"Sir."
