History: Boleslaus II "The Brave" had just been forced into exile and died after Poland was passing its 100th year as a independent nation. Ladislaus Herman, Boleslaus II's brother was his succesor. Poland just got out of a war with Bohemia and is still trying to reconstruct. With needs for expantion to the east, and threats from Germany, Poland must find a way to balance reconstruction, expantion and defence in order to remain a European power.

These are troubled times as we both know. Enemies are plentyful and allies are sparce. The Kingdom of Poland recognises the threat proposed by the Holy Roman Empire and other nations that have not recognized christianity as their religion. I, King of Poland propose an alliance. Military and economicaly, granting trade rights would be the first step and also if one asks for aid let us promise to deliver. I hope you realize that this could be the start of a prosperous and great realationship between our two nations

Times indeed are perilous. The Holy Empire, once a strong force holding back the heathens, has degenerated. However, our lands are separated by many many leagues. However, We shall recognise the hand of friendship that Poland extends to us. Wheresoever We can, We shall be your voice at the court of the Holy Father, as We hope you shall for Us. Wheresoever We can, We shall come to your aid, or urge the lands of the West to join in a crusade to aid you. We shall grant your traders a quarter wheresoever you may wish, merely name the town or city.
It is possible that we shall have more to discuss at a later date. If so, you shall see Our envoy come from the West.

Message From Prince Yaropolk II

To King Ladislaus Herman,

As you are no doubt aware, be it through word of mouth or full on experience, Kiev has fallen into anarchy, Princes feud amongst themselves for power and the though it seems to be dying down these past few years we would still like to know if you would be willing to aid us in bringing Kiev to order, in exchange we will grant lands and titles.

Yuri Kerensky arrived in northern Poland just finishing his trips to Scandinavia. His next stop was the Kingdom of Poland, his most civilized neighbor to the West. If the Western border was to be safe, at least the Poles must be friendly, as anything with the vicious Prussians would likely degenerate.

He arrived in Warsaw and requested an audience with the King.

"I am Yuri Kerensky of the Novgorod Feudal Republic. We have recently declared our independance from the degenerate Princedom of Kiev. We feel that they can no longer protect our fair city. Therefore, we ask for your recognition of our independance, and perhaps a non-agression treaty. Perhaps even an alliance to combat the feisty Prussians and the Viking Raiders that have recently appeared?"

With many treaties forming with the lands of the west, the King of Poland has been able to see the western ways of life. The king also recognizes that there are no orders of knights in Poland like there are in many other lands. Therefore Ladislaus Herman has started orders of knights in Poland.

The king of Hungary asks if the king of Poland if he has any umarried sons or daughters. King Laszlo has one umarried nephew, Almos, and one unmarried daughter, Piroska. A royal marrige would strenghten the bond between our two kingdoms.
