Official Document pertaining to the interests of the Holy Union of Hamtaro
The 11th day of the 12th month, in the 3005th year of our Lord
To Whom It May Concern:
The Holy Union of Hamtaro would like to extend a formal invitation to any nation willing, interested and able to engage in diplomatic relations, to become our international ally.
We are a small but economic union, divided primarily into 3 large City-states. We are open to all newcomers, and are willing to financially and militaristically assist any allied nation. We have a combined population of 19 million, and an army of 163 000, as well as a standby force of able-bodied militia of over 600 000. With such a large army, we may seem like a militaristic nation, whereas, in reality, we much prefer peace to war, although we are willing to do whatever is necessary to ensure the wellbeing of our Union. We feel a network of close allies would lessen the chance of us needing to go to war, therefore freeing up resources and troops to either assist our allies or execute large-scale peacekeeping missions.
Any nomadic population is welcome to set up home in our land, assuming they are willing to comply to our political standards. Of course, they are to govern themselves as they see fit, until such time comes when the Hamtaran Government needs to step in. Hopefully things will never deteriorate to such a level. We strongly oppose capitalist ideals, and do not allow large conglomerate organizations. Any capitalist state wanting to become our ally must show that they are willing to forego their self-beneficial intentions to defend the alliance.
We have eliminated all persecution in our nation. Citizens are taught from birth that all people are created equal, and we have but a single religion, which blends both scientific and religious aspects, which ascertains that there is no religious fanaticism or persecution. We are not a self-imposing nation, therefore we allow all joining countries to continue to worship their own religions. However, any uprising, religious or otherwise, will be crushed without mercy, and all parties involved exiled or executed.
We have no patience with rebels or terrorists. Anyone caught instilling fear or performing socially deprecating acts will be put to trial and, if found guilty, executed. We feel this is necessary to keep the safe, peaceful society our citizens have come to know. Freedom of speech is encouraged, and voting is optional.
Please, do not be deterred by our nation’s small status. We are a relatively new union, having been recently formed from the remnants of the broken Socialist Confederation of Hammė, but we are a nation of innovators, and have advanced astronomically, both technologically and religiously, since our formation. We feel this League of Nations would be the final step in announcing our influence in the world, but we need the support of larger states to make this happen.
Yours respectfully,
Commissar for International Relations
