A small rebellion took place 2 weeks after Lord Seric took power in Wintrees. They saw through Seric’s lies and mis-direction and tried to remove him from power. Although they met with some success, they failed to remove Seric from power. What was left of the rebels took flight into the dead space and hid waiting for an opportunity to strike.
On board the HMS Royal Andromeda –
“Is it confirmed?” asked General Rogers.
“Yes sir, Lord Seric has been sighted on T15… it’s a perfect target.” replied the Aide.
“Almost too perfect… do we have any idea why hes there?”
“A University of Brent archeological team uncovered a set of ruins which make references to both Jedi and Sith castes, nothing special… even though we don’t put much stock in their… religion… we do know a lot about them already.”
“And of course Lord Seric knows more.” said the General.
“Yes sir, but the archeological team found references to a 3rd caste, I’ve seen nothing like it, there are mentions of a faction called the ‘Balance’ which destroyed both the Jedi and the Sith on T15 and several other planets in the sector.”
“Go on…”
“Well the reports dried up after that, and Seric landed on the planet shortly after.” said the Aide, handing the General the report.
“If Seric has traveled there, it really must be an important find…”
“Hes accompanied HMS Scylla and HMS Renown… as well as his flagship Death’s Head.”
“Then a direct assault would fail… even with HMS Royal Andromeda supporting us…”
“Yes sir. Even if we gather the whole of the our fleet, we won’t be able to repel that sort of firepower.”
“A small team?”
“Yes sir, we’ve got the assets in place already, they could slip in and kill Seric before anyone notices… the problem is getting onto the planet, what with the Death’s Head in orbit.”
“We need distraction…”, said General Rogers, smiling, “I trust the archeological report was classified?”
“Yes sir, it came from a source in a civilian telecommunications station.”
“Where is the nearest Freeport?”
“Errr. The Magnus sector.”
“Send a shuttle and an escort to Freeport Magnus… they should be safe the second they hit neutral space… have them transmit the report on all channels from the station…”
“Sir?”
“A faction that can destroy the Sith and the Jedi en mass… the power they can wield is unimaginable… every nation that sees that report with dispatch a fleet to T15 and try and claim it… we’ll slip past when the Death’s Head is fighting off the intruders.”
“Yes sir, I’ll have it done right away.”
